I paid them to build and install a flatbed on my Super Duty truck. The hacked up the main supports on the bed to try to make it fit over the hump in the frame and then clamped it down using 2 square u-bolts per side. It didn't actually clear the hump, so when they tightened down the u-bolts, it rocked on the frame and twisted the bed out of alignment. To top it off, they used coolant hose for the fuel filler and kinked it during the installation so I couldn't fill my truck up on the way home. The bed itself was OK, but severely lacking in fit and finish, not at all worth the money paid, and heavily damaged as a result of the installation. They insist that all of the issues that I documented and took pictures of are "within acceptable tolerances" and the same quality as all of their other installs, which is even scarier IMO. I had to reinstall the bed myself, file a complaint with the BBB and a dispute with my credit card company. Wow. Do your homework. Do not buy Alum-Line unless you want to throw out money, be lied to and get a product that is not what you ordered. Sales men appear to have high turn over and will just lie to get a sale. After that they will not stand behind there product. read more

Alum-Line promised me whatever I wanted in writing and delivered whatever they wanted. They claim to be 'custom', but they are not. Years later, Alum-Line still hasn't paid the court judgement. Their defense was two fold: 1) What they supplied is 'good enough' and 2) It happens 'all the time'. Alum-Line typically operates via deceit. read more

I ordered a custom gooseneck cargo trailer and took delivery in May 2020. When I picked it up, I noticed that that salesman I had worked with had forgot to inform the fabricators about several specifications. Some changes were made while I waited, but several other screw-ups were accepted because I live 1200 miles away and it was easier for me to do it right than have them attempt a correction. After 4 weeks of taking delivery, the roof-top AC unit broke off and it almost fell onto the highway. To make matters worse, they only reimbursed me 80% of the cost to repair. I also noticed that the backup lights flickered when on. I specified a pull-out step under the side entrance. Instead of ordering a 3rd party retractable step they fabricated one. Every time I pull the release to pull out or retract the step, the locking pin pulls out from its frame and has to be fixed. If I were you, I would choose another trailer manufacturer if you want reliable craftsmenship because you will not get your money's worth at Alum-Line. read more

I received my new 30 foot Goose Neck trailer from Alum Line and was very happy about the looks of the trailer. I had the opportunity to speak with a design engineer from the company multiple times during construction which made me feel I had a better than average chance of getting what I ordered. This didn't happen. I was very specific about what this trailer was being used for and what was being put in it. I even gave the minimum height of the trailer ground skirt after the trailer was built and 6000 pounds of equipment were placed inside. You would think that a design engineer would be able to design the trailer with the correct axles and lift so that the trailer would not go lower than the required minimum height when finished but the trailer showed up at the local dealership 1/2 inch lower than the minimum height and it was still empty. They wouldn't change the axles even though they are wrong for an empty trailer let alone a trailer that is going to have 6000 pounds of equipment mounted in it. The next issue had to do with the generator doors, storage hatch doors, windows and entry doors. They all leak when it rains. Every entry point leaks every time it rains. The doors were installed with the frames bowed so the weather stripping didn't contact the jam all the way around the doors. The windows leak around the frame and through the tracks and you can see light through the closed storage hatches and generator doors. The trailer has a welded Diamond plated aluminum roof which leaked at every seam as well. The roof leaks were fixed easily with self leveling sealant but all the doors, windows and hatches are riveted in and is going to be a mess to fix. Alum Line wouldn't take responsibility for these issues which means I will end up paying for their poor craftsmanship, lack of customer service and poor design capabilities. As I said the structural integrity is great but I've now lost 3 months of building time and we've paid $8400.00 dollars of monthly payments for a trailer which can't be built until the leaks are fixed. I can't in all good conscience recommend Alum Line to anyone who doesn't want water getting into their trailer. Keep looking. read more
