I was very worried about what I may have lost, and I couldn't imagine waiting to get home to try to get it fixed, because phones have become such a necessary part of air travel. I had done some googling on the hostel's computer and it looked potentially hopeless but I took my phone to iFixIt just in case, because of the great reviews they had. Within a few minutes of me getting to the store, the attendant opened the phone and showed me my Home Screen again! What a wonderful sight! He said that he had seen this situation before and it was due to moisture getting in through that horizontal opening at the top of the screen (in this case probably from putting phone inside bra on a very hot excursion), and he could fix it by swapping out a part. I was shocked, as none of my googling had even mentioned this as a possibility. He gave me the option of letting him try to restore the part and preserve facial recognition, which would take a few hours. I said sure, and walked around for a while. My MacBook Pro didn't start up anymore. Called the Apple support who gave me an appointment at the repair shop Doctor Clic who said it would take 7 to 14 days to analyse the issue, and that they would call me. They never called. I had to call in. So, when I called them after 2 weeks they said that my hard disk is faulty and needs emplacement. For replacing the the SSD and restoring the data from the faulty SSD they would charge me EUR 375 ! I collected the MacBook and bought a new SSD and tried to install the OS myself. It didn't work so I gave it to El Mac elmacbarcelones.com. who straight away told me that the MacBook model is known to have issues with the hard drive cable. A day later El Mac called me and informed that the issue is caused by a faulty cable and that he will replace it. It was ready for pickup the same day. He charged me EUR 70 for replacing the cable, installing the OS on the new SSD and transferring the data from old SSD. EUR 70 opposed to EUR 375 at Doctor Clic... This place saved my life! Cannot thank them enough!…read more So I had two separate problems with two different phones and found this place with the help of Yelp. I needed a screen replacement on an iphone 5 and what I thought was a battery replacement on an iphone 5s. I went to Recambios Movil and explained both problems. Both the lady and the man were super helpful! I speak a little Spanish but not enough to discuss these issues and they both tried their very best to speak in English (they have a great level by the way). He gave me a quote on the spot and I decided to go with the cheaper option of replacing the battery on the 5s. Once he opened the phone he realised the problem was actually with the motherboard, and not the battery and explained how it would be very expensive to fix and frankly not worth it. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on fixing the screen on the 5 because I'm a student and so money is pretty tight ;) But he did me a HUGE favour and offered to do it for me at a really really good price. I'm so so grateful, he spent so much time on my problems and only charged me for the replacement of the screen. If any of you have any problems and are looking for a place in Barcelona I cannot recommend Recambios Movil enough. They're genuinely helpful and are completely honest. The hotel concierge recommended BCN Moviles so that's where we went and we couldn't have been happier with their service. One of the gentlemen spoke English well enough to explain what they would do to try to clean it in order to keep the repair cost low. He warned that it may result in breaking the screen, the screen protector or the back of the phone. Within three hours, my phone was fixed - and it only cost 30 Euro. Nothing broke. I am very, very grateful to BCN Moviles for their honesty and terrific service.

Bringing in the phone, we specifically requested a replacement with an original part. The owner himself said that yes, he would use an original part. He went to check and reported back that the part was there and the phone would be ready for pickup the next day. It was, but clearly no original part had been used: the plastic of the casing was shiny and the phone was much bulkier, in part due to the back panel not being properly affixed. We filed a reclamation and wanted a replacement with an original part; the owner said no original parts where available and that he had told us the day before when he checked. He hadn't, he had simply confirmed availability of the part. In the ensuing argument, he kept changing his story around multiple times, trying to place blame/fault squarely on us. We might have been fine if he had simply admitted a mistake - normally you expect a call when a part is not available to have the decision to use an off-brand part. He claimed the replacement was Class A, which was not true - it didn't fit very well, which he tried to blame on "the fall the phone took" - the phone never fell, the glass broke under pressure. We demanded he replace our part with the broken glass, which he was reluctant to do. Eventually it turned out they had broken our original part in the repair, broken the screen (not just the glass) and the chassis as well as the back panel. When he finally showed us our part, it looked like they had used a screwdriver to pry off the back panel, resulting in the damage to the unit. We demanded a refund and our original part, which we finally received - still we had to pay 30 EUR for the "manual labor" of damaging our phone. It was working when we handed it in for glass replacement and was broken we received it back. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, go to Phone Warehouse or any other place where they offer original parts and at least properly inform you of what they want to do. --------- Tuvimos un vidrio roto en un móvil de LG y elegimos BCNmóviles para la reparación sobre la base de las buenas críticas, pero definitivamente no lo recomendamos. Con el móvil, hemos solicitado expresamente un reemplazo con una pieza original. El propietario dijo que sí, que usaría una parte original. Él fue a revisar e informó que la pieza estaba allí y el teléfono estará listo para ser recogido al día siguiente. Eso lo era, pero obviamente ningun parte original había sido utilizado: el plástico de la carcasa era brillante y el teléfono era mucho más voluminoso, en parte debido al panel posterior no ser colocada correctamente. Hemos presentado un reclamo y queríamos un reemplazo con una pieza original; el propietario dijo piezas originales no fueron y que él nos había dicho el día anterior cuando se comprueba. Había simplemente confirmado la disponibilidad de la pieza. En el argumento que siguió, él cambió su historia alrededor de varias veces, tratando de culpar / culpa de lleno en nosotros.
