My MacBook Pro didn't start up anymore. Called the Apple support who gave me an appointment at the repair shop Doctor Clic who said it would take 7 to 14 days to analyse the issue, and that they would call me. They never called. I had to call in. So, when I called them after 2 weeks they said that my hard disk is faulty and needs emplacement. For replacing the the SSD and restoring the data from the faulty SSD they would charge me EUR 375 ! I collected the MacBook and bought a new SSD and tried to install the OS myself. It didn't work so I gave it to El Mac elmacbarcelones.com. who straight away told me that the MacBook model is known to have issues with the hard drive cable. A day later El Mac called me and informed that the issue is caused by a faulty cable and that he will replace it. It was ready for pickup the same day. He charged me EUR 70 for replacing the cable, installing the OS on the new SSD and transferring the data from old SSD. EUR 70 opposed to EUR 375 at Doctor Clic... These guys told me what the real problem was and were able to fix it while I waited?! Plus instead of its costing me €700+ it was an easy under €50 fix because they spent their time looking at it and making sure they were correct with their diagnosis and how to fix it, they assured me it wasn't what the other two stores had said it was and now my laptop runs perfectly! I needed a screen replacement on an iphone 5 and what I thought was a battery replacement on an iphone 5s. I went to Recambios Movil and explained both problems. Both the lady and the man were super helpful! I speak a little Spanish but not enough to discuss these issues and they both tried their very best to speak in English (they have a great level by the way). He gave me a quote on the spot and I decided to go with the cheaper option of replacing the battery on the 5s. Once he opened the phone he realised the problem was actually with the motherboard, and not the battery and explained how it would be very expensive to fix and frankly not worth it. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on fixing the screen on the 5 because I'm a student and so money is pretty tight ;) But he did me a HUGE favour and offered to do it for me at a really really good price. I'm so so grateful, he spent so much time on my problems and only charged me for the replacement of the screen. If any of you have any problems and are looking for a place in Barcelona I cannot recommend Recambios Movil enough. They're genuinely helpful and are completely honest. Somebody in the hotel recommended Mac Service as they did the maintenaice for the hotel system. Not only they recovered all my data in only one day (they have a express service if you're in a rush) but I also got a new SSD installed at a great price. Communication was pretty easy as the staff speaks good english. Highly recommended, specially if you're a few days in town and have a accident like mine.

The hotel concierge recommended BCN Moviles so that's where we went and we couldn't have been happier with their service. One of the gentlemen spoke English well enough to explain what they would do to try to clean it in order to keep the repair cost low. He warned that it may result in breaking the screen, the screen protector or the back of the phone. Within three hours, my phone was fixed - and it only cost 30 Euro. Nothing broke.
