It was showing the recovery mode screen at times, other times it was stuck in a loop repeating Apple logo, horizontal flicker, dark. I was very worried about what I may have lost, and I couldn't imagine waiting to get home to try to get it fixed, because phones have become such a necessary part of air travel. I had done some googling on the hostel's computer and it looked potentially hopeless but I took my phone to iFixIt just in case, because of the great reviews they had. Within a few minutes of me getting to the store, the attendant opened the phone and showed me my Home Screen again! What a wonderful sight! He said that he had seen this situation before and it was due to moisture getting in through that horizontal opening at the top of the screen (in this case probably from putting phone inside bra on a very hot excursion), and he could fix it by swapping out a part. I was shocked, as none of my googling had even mentioned this as a possibility. He gave me the option of letting him try to restore the part and preserve facial recognition, which would take a few hours. I said sure, and walked around for a while. As it happened, this was not possible, but I got my working phone back! I couldn't have been more surprised or pleased. I highly recommend this store! Thank you, iFixIt!

I went back and the tech (at Roger Lluria location) set me up with the proper files requested and helped me organize the desktop. I then visited one more time for the transfer and he took care of it to my complete satisfaction. I cannot say enough for the manner in which they handled all the input, criticism and the finances. I needed a screen replacement on an iphone 5 and what I thought was a battery replacement on an iphone 5s. I went to Recambios Movil and explained both problems. Both the lady and the man were super helpful! I speak a little Spanish but not enough to discuss these issues and they both tried their very best to speak in English (they have a great level by the way). He gave me a quote on the spot and I decided to go with the cheaper option of replacing the battery on the 5s. Once he opened the phone he realised the problem was actually with the motherboard, and not the battery and explained how it would be very expensive to fix and frankly not worth it. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on fixing the screen on the 5 because I'm a student and so money is pretty tight ;) But he did me a HUGE favour and offered to do it for me at a really really good price. I'm so so grateful, he spent so much time on my problems and only charged me for the replacement of the screen. If any of you have any problems and are looking for a place in Barcelona I cannot recommend Recambios Movil enough. They're genuinely helpful and are completely honest. Somebody in the hotel recommended Mac Service as they did the maintenaice for the hotel system. Not only they recovered all my data in only one day (they have a express service if you're in a rush) but I also got a new SSD installed at a great price. Communication was pretty easy as the staff speaks good english. Highly recommended, specially if you're a few days in town and have a accident like mine.

The hotel concierge recommended BCN Moviles so that's where we went and we couldn't have been happier with their service. One of the gentlemen spoke English well enough to explain what they would do to try to clean it in order to keep the repair cost low. He warned that it may result in breaking the screen, the screen protector or the back of the phone. Within three hours, my phone was fixed - and it only cost 30 Euro. Nothing broke. I am very, very grateful to BCN Moviles for their honesty and terrific service.
