We stayed at Secrets Resort, Maroma beach and we were spoiled every minute of the trip. The food was amazing, we loved the 24/7 room service, the drinks kept flowing, and the service from all of the staff was first class. The hotel really went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for us during our stay. I am so grateful that Ashley helped us find something in our budget, that she answered my last minute texts so quickly the day we were heading to the airport for departure. I also like that the shuttle from and to the airport in Cancun was arranged as a part of our package so we weren't scrambling to figure that part out. The shuttle company that we used also had some great deals on excursions and we did one and it was a blast! Booking with Ashley is the way to go!

Ashley was just as helpful & gracious when cancelling our trip as she had been over the few weeks it took to plan, organize & set up a payment plan. We will be using her for our next family trip.

We asked the coordinator, Cecily, to help us get a block of rooms together, with connecting rooms so that parents could sleep in the room next to their children. We specifically selected a particular hotel during the planning process because, we were assured, we could get connecting rooms. My mother-in-law asked numerous times, starting several months in advance, if we should pay a deposit to secure our reservations. Cecily assured us that we did not have to do that until very late. When we arrived at the hotel, not only were there no connecting rooms for us, but the family was scattered throughout numerous floors of the tower furthest from the beach. Husbands and wives therefore had to sleep separately, so as not to leave their children sleeping unsupervised several doors or floors away. The members of the hotel staff were sympathetic, but explained that because we had not paid the deposit in a timely fashion, they could not honor our request. Our family spent a small fortune on this vacation, expecting to have a good experience. Because of the rank incompetence of our coordinator, who bears the entire responsibility for this fiasco, we could have gotten similar satisfaction and enjoyment by setting fire to a large pile of cash. Cecily gave us poor guidance that wasted our money and turned what should have been a beautiful, relaxing vacation into a stressful nightmare. Do not trust your vacation plans to her.

She provided little communication prior and we haven't heard a word since we returned two weeks. Our dining room sitting was done without asking us if it was ok with us and we were placed at a small table by ourselves. Martha did not advise nor help our awareness of what was available. We did not know how agreeing to unassigned seating would have such a large impact on our experience. We were left to our own demise. Our Alaska experience with Wes was much different. I had to threaten a lawyer to get my money back, and it took 6 weeks to finally get a partial refund. I already called and submitted a complaint to secrets resorts, the resort I was planning to stay at, the better business bureau, as well as the travel agents commissions board. Trust me, there are plenty of other travel places to go to that are legit and won't try to screw you over and steal your money!

The station offered poop bags too. The amenity is greatly appreciated. The room was clean. I enjoyed sleeping on the mattress. Not too firm. Not too soft. The design is somewhat modern and maybe a thing or two looked outdated. But clean! Unfortunately someone made a mess at the ice machine near the elevator and all the ice got all over the floor. Since there was a convention at the time of my visit, the vibe was pretty lively.

Birthdays, funeral gathering etc. Always a meal prepared by the Inn's kitchen. Usually pretty decent fare. Yesterday, 7-25-26, was not good at all!! VERY disappointed by the food. The beef, not sure if it was brisket or London broil or what but it was tough, people had to ask for regular serrated steak knives to cut it and a lot of the people were elderly so this was a chewing challenge for the tooth impaired, unreadable for me. The chicken breast was dry but chewable. The squash....mostly onion slicesWhen served I got onion and 2 slices of squash, had to ask the server for more squash. The potato chunks were totally under cooked! Almost to the point of being raw. This wasn't the time to tell the grieving family to ask the management to step in or for a refund and I wasn't going to step in so this is what I can do for now. I will definitely talk to family after the burial in a day or two but I hope management will read this and voluntarily do something for us. Venue ended at 3 pm in the north west room.....
