ALTIMA TELECOM DOESNOT even deserve a 1 star. There should that option for zero rating. This is due to frustration but it is the reality for those of us who pay for their services.
I am here to express to frustration, the cheating and the lack of professionalism I have received from Altima Telecom. I have been with this internet provide for six years now. For the first five and half years, I used to pay for unlimited internet but we were never home during the day, so we hardly used the internet and I guess they were happy. Though we still had challenges here and there, they were minimal. Then COVID set in, and we had to stay home and that meant using the internet more frequently. The internet was doing fine supporting three gargets at the same time. Then about five weeks ago, internet gradually started to slow down, they told me that my modem was old which is not true. They asked me to pick a new modem from Markham after spending 4 days without internet. I picked up the modem, they situation did not improve. My children went to Camp and I got a =break from work so we were using the internet less but then I realized that we could NOT even use zoom without interruption. I called them on Thursday, the first technician I spoke to, who never disclosed his name, said that they had been having similar issues so I needed to reboot the internet, but my daughter was in the middle of a zoom call. So they asked to call back. I called back and spoke to another technician, his name is Larry, he said the it is because I pay for only 15 mps, it cannot support any connection. I asked a simple question but I have been using the same internet and the major issue gradually got out of hand since we started staying home and using the internet more and now the internet is completely off and I did not have these issues before when I was hardly using your internet despite paying for it. Moreover, when I signed up six years ago, I signed up for unlimited internet. Please note that I pay $600/year for internet only. It is actually supposed to $700 plus /year but I choose for a lump sum single pay rather than a monthly show commitment and thus a discount. Therefore, it is ideally $700 plus and for internet only but it cannot even upload a page, the most upload speed we have gotten is 0.48 and I think 2 for the download and so some reason we have to switch between 2.4 and 5.0 network and determine which supports our computer.
Larry told me to pick up a new modem and now the story became a modem story, however, despite the second new modem in 6 to 8 weeks, things have gotten worse. My son couldn't even attend his class this morning, he had to shut down because he could not pick what the teacher was say. I called Altima and after about 25 minutes they dropped my call. I am a struggling single mother and I pay for your services. Please pay back my money and I get a new provider. Last year, I spent two months between July and September without internet when I moved houses. You never even bothered to refund my money. A VERY FRUSTRATED CUSTOMER FARIDAH N.

I have not had any functioning internet, not even for one garget since yesterday. My son stays home every the other day, he cannot even join his class. He tried to send an email and it couldn't through. Now we have use the phone data in turns. I work from home and my students are complaining. People have complained but I don't why authorities cannot investigate this awful business.
