I have been a client at Alternative Holistic for over a year now-actually it might almost be 2 years? I initially received a Groupon as a gift and was super excited. I have a medical condition which causes severe headaches, my neurologist suggested massage therapy to help relax some of the muscles in my neck and shoulders. The groupon would allow me to "Try out" a new place without a lot of commitment. I'm not going to lie and say getting an appointment was easy..it wasn't. If you aren't familiar with Groupon, they set the amount of deals you have to give. which can be overwhelming for a small business. I knew this going in, in my mind "Groupon" means "be prepared to wait". I contacted Kelli via email I found on her website. Explained my medical situation and that I would like to schedule an appointment, I received a quick response indicating that she was booking a few months out. I asked about a cancellation list, she was happy to add me to the list in case she had a cancellation. At the time, she also had a male CMT who was working in her office. I indicated I would be happy with any appointment, I didn't care who saw me. Within a week, I had an appointment due to a cancellation! Lucky me.-- So it pays to be flexible when you're using a Groupon. Just Sayin!
My first session was not with Kelli but her office mate. I wasn't impressed, but I was willing to try again.Cuz- you know, CMT's are human and have bad days like everyone else. Second massage (also from a cancellation) with the same guy--all bad. I emailed Kelli and said that I just didn't want to waste my last session on him, that I would wait til she was available. She was very professional and accommodating and I had an appointment (also via a cancellation) 2 weeks later. Incidentally, the male CMT was gone by then.
This appointment was very different, before we went into the session, she asked me several questions about my pain level, what things were bothering me, what did I want to focus on. The massage was fantastic! I booked again, and again & again. After about two months I was really seeing a difference in my pain level, the knots in my neck were gone. This was like a miracle! I have experienced fewer headaches and less intensity since seeing Kelli on a regular basis. It's like MAGIC!!
I have been booking twice a month with Kelli ever since. She's always been very helpful, has had to reschedule me a few times because I've had conflicting activities and once because I was just a total flake, she was accommodating and pleasant with my reschedules and I continue to see her twice a month- I've never had a bad or lackluster massage here. As previously stated, CMT's are human, and running a business is exhausting. Sometimes, you learn from errors and none of us are our best 100% of the time. I can understand the frustration in some reviewers posts; using groupon sometimes sucks. Sometimes we may suck as humans if we are stressed or just having an off day. It's easy to whip out our phones and post a bad review in the heat of the moment. I'm going to chalk up these poor reviews to individual experience/perception. And honestly, my review is the same; one individuals perception/experience. I think it's best to try things and make up your own mind. read more
