Dr. Susan Krutansky is a great dentist. She fixed a side filling that another dentist didn't do right. It was jagged and rough and bothering me by rubbing on the inside of my lip. Now it is smooth and beautiful. Also, somehow she was able to inject novicane without me feeling it. Seriously. I was tensing up and waiting for it, but then she was done. I imagine that she is probably good with children since I literally felt nothing from the needle. I highly recommend her. read more

If there was an option for no stars, I'd give that. Hands down the worst dentist I've ever been to. Dirty facilities, patient rooms being used as storage with personnel continuously coming in and out (and not to check on the patient), 2.5 hours in the chair, no credit or debit accepted, and all costs paid upfront. Not to mention they would not complete a cleaning because it was free, but would be more than happy to complete a filling procedure which would be an out of pocket upfront expense. Seemed like more of a scam than a check-up. I'd rather deal with the pain of a cavity for a few more days, than have any of these people dig around my mouth. Save yourself the hours that you would spend waiting in the chair, and look into better alternatives to complete dental work on you or your family. read more

We our so happy to have found alternative dental. They do take Aetna. I had a root canal and really I woke up with no pain or discomfort in the slightest. That's a world of difference from my last one at a different office where I was so swollen and needed antibiotics and pain meds. I also had A wisdom tooth pulled I didn't need sedation, pain medication or antibiotics. If I went somewhere else I don't think that would've been the case. They even called to see how I was feeling the next day. I would recommend Dr. Remma, she so nice and makes you feel very comfortable. read more

I have been going here for 18 years and my parents have been going here for a little more than 20 years, even after moving out of New Jersey down to another state, my family and I still drive 4 hours just to come to this dentist office. Dr. Susan Krutyansky and her staff don't just treat you like patients, they treat you like family whether you are getting a simple cleaning or a root canal. And I have only heard good things about this office when I talk to other patients. Personally, I believe this is the best dental office in New Jersey and possibly the east coast. read more

I had my teeth cleaned here with Dr. Julie and I was overall pleased with my care. The office staff was pleasant and when I presented them my yelp check in offer for the 2 free movie tickets they were happy to give them to me. I waited about 30 minutes to see the doctor which is pretty standard from past experiences. The hygienist was nice and the doctor cleaned my teeth well and took her time to address any of my concerns. The location is convenient, the staff is nice, and the doctor had good bedside manner. WORST place ever, they do not diagnose the problem right and suggest removal of tooth where as the problem was with some other tooth which perhaps just required a root canal. SCARY... They make money through your insurance by doing more and more fillings even on tooth where it does not requires a filling. Because of their mistake we had to go to a different dentist, emergency and pay a lot of money from our pocket. BAD BAD BAD... DO NOT GO to this place. read more

this place is terrible. You make an appointment for 5:00 pm and your not even called into the patient rooms for at least an hour after your appointment time or more! Let me add once you get called into the rooms your waiting for at least another hour to even get worked on! In my case i had to get a few filings done, once i got called in and draped the "dentist" came in and said "You picked another busy day today" Which to me shouldn't matter i still should be seen at my appointment time. This is what they said to me a week earlier when i came for a cleaning that she legit spent only 7 minuets cleaning my teeth. Anyways so once she said that to me she proceeded to numb me. 1 HOUR later still no dentist to work on my filings and now the nova cane was basically worn off! No one checked on me nothing, so now after 2.5 hours of all that waiting i made the BEST decision to get up and walk out and find a REAL dentist. Now after i walked out the next day i finally found a great dentist, they took me in right away and I received the PROPER dental care. As i was getting the work i needed done she even stated how there was still TARTER all over my teeth and i never even receieved the proper cleaning from these people at alternative dental. I mean come on look at there name "ALTERNATIVE" dental. Please anyone who is thinking of going to this place do not waste your time. Alternative Dental used to be Smart Choice Dental....Same address, same doctors plus a few more. There is no sufficient parking....Only meter parking and you have to go constantly feed the meter because they have you waiting hours before even seeing the hygienist. I went to them in Sept for a check up and cleaning (like I do every 6mons). They clean my teeth and tell me I have great dental hygiene...awesome! however they seemed to have found many cavities and a possible root canal. Mind you 6mons ago they never said anything about even a cavity in that particular tooth. So knowing that and them saying I have great dental hygiene how is it they keep finding all these cavities in my mouth.....I'll tell you why....they are trying to take me for my money cuz I have no dental ins. Well guess what...I went to another dentist today they said I don't have even one cavity. There is nothing wrong w/ANY of my teeth....esp the one w/the possible root canal. WTH!!?? I am so glad I listened to my inner instinct because this dentist would have gotten over 2k from me w/all the work they said I needed. They would have ruined a perfectly good tooth.....and to top it all off, I had a root canal done by them back in March (I had ins then) and now I'm wondering if I ever needed it. Granted the ins covered it but what if that was a perfectly good tooth too!!! read more
