I honestly do not know where to start! I had 6 weeks before my wedding and needed MAJOR alterations due to losing +20lbs and being short. We had issues with the torso, and the altered bride team endlessly worked on it to make it perfect. My dress was not easy to work with because of the layering and appliqués. The trim of the dress is even harder because of the appliqués. Nonetheless, they did it! Besides the beautiful alterations, every appointment I had was beyond my expectations. They were always kind, welcoming, supportive, and truly attentive to the entire process. They are incredible people inside and out and it exudes in the ways that they interacted with me as a bride AND their business as a whole. BRIDES BEWARE! I'm sharing my experience to help other brides avoid the stress and disappointment I went through. For transparency: I did not purchase my wedding dress from this shop, so I can't speak to their gown selection or sales process. My review is strictly about their alterations, and based on what happened to me, I strongly recommend NOT bringing your wedding gown here for alterations. My gown is the Ziva gown by Chosen by Kyha. I chose this shop because of their reputation, but the alteration work left my dress in worse condition than when I dropped it off. As shown in the photos, the bodice now leans forward, the side seams and tulle are uneven, the zipper area is puckered and crooked, the back is pinching, and overall the structure of the dress was compromised. I took my gown to two separate seamstresses for second opinions, and both immediately confirmed the same thing: the alterations were done incorrectly. They were shocked at the state of my dress. I was quoted $520-$800 just to fix the damage -- and that doesn't even include redoing the actual skirt and hem. At this point, I'm less than 3 months from my wedding and have to start dress shopping all over again because my dress in its current condition is unwearable. Some of the issues include: * Bodice leaning forward and uneven * Distorted, misaligned side seams * Puckering and crooked zipper * Pinched waistline in the back * Sloppy stitching where the train meets the dress * Overall compromised structure and fit I reached out to the owners to request a full refund plus the cost of repair alterations, OR to pay for the cost of my dress since their alterations ruined it. The owners did refund the alteration cost, but they would not cover the additional repair costs directly caused by their work. They told me that since they refunded me, and I could just re-alter the same areas that would need the required standard alterations. I explained that the $520-$800 quote I received was only to fix the damage they caused -- it doesn't even include the skirt and hem alterations. The tailors I saw aren't even sure if they can fully save my dress. I'm honestly so sad and stressed about all of this. This entire experience has caused so much unnecessary anxiety during what should be an exciting time. I truly wish I had known before trusting them with my gown. Adding notes for more clarity: - On the third and LAST appointment, you cannot do anymore changes and any additional changes would incur additional charges. What is the point of asking this at the last appointment if any additional changes will incur additional charges? At this point I just wanted to get my dress and leave, which I did. There was no point in expressing what I was unhappy with my dress since they were not going to do anything about it during the final appointment anyways. - My gown is the Ziva gown by Chosen by Kyha. My dress was 2 sizes bigger than me -- should not have been a challenge to go down 2 sizes. - During the appointment, they suggested cutting my train off and said it was the only option and that because so much has to be hemmed, keeping the train was not possible -- to the point that I actually cried during the appointment. It took me asking a couple of times just to get them to unpin my train from the bustle so we could even look at other options. Alternatives were finally suggested after some tears and talking, but when I went home that day, that's when I had contacted them to stop all additional alterations to the dress. read more

I had my wedding dress and my husbands suit altered at this shop. The owners and tailors were so sweet and friendly throughout the whole process. They listened to all of the issues that I had with how my dress fitted and made sure they altered it exactly how I wanted. We eloped in the Rocky Mountain National Park in the middle of December and had to brave windstorms and hiking through the snowy trails. My dress and his suit not only survived but still look amazing! I had the idea to have the scraps from my dress and husbands suit turned into bow ties for him and our pets. I had a great experience here, staff was friendly and helpful especially when you have no idea where to go. I came in with a difficult alteration and they pulled it off even when I was on the fence if it could work or not. I did have my wedding September 2025 and the seamstress that worked on my dress no longer works there. I am extremely blessed to have worked with her before she left. The only thing that happened that was a little frustrating was when I had a small hole in the dress and was told it'd be able to be fixed, the day I picked up the dress (which took months and understandable so *see pic*) it was not fixed still and had a conversation on getting it fixed, I was told it probably won't stay closed if I sat or tried to dance hard... well safe to say it did not pop back open and was perfect the whole time, still is! The frustrating part was trying to convince them it'd work. The one thing that did snap off though was my bustle, and ended up dragging my train around, but at the end of the day my husband and I had a blast and pictures came out fantastic and now we're married! I found Altered Bride by searching through Yelp when I needed my bridal gown altered. Altered Bride gave me a fast response! I set up a consultation and met with Flor & Maria. Not only were both of them very sweet, but also knowledgeable! Maria told me she has been a seamstress over 30 years. Their studio is also decorated so nicely and has a cool vibe. At my consultation I tried on my gown and Flor & Maria let me know what they felt was necessary to make my dress look perfect for my wedding day! They made me feel comfortable through each step and I did not feel like I was being oversold for something I did not need. They said I should take up the length a bit & also created some bustles in the back since my gown had a train. They scheduled me to come back in 3 weeks for my final fitting. At my final fitting the dress was looking great! The hem for the length was adjusted perfectly, and the bustles were placed as well! They even showed my sister who I brought as well how to loop each button on the bustle so it would look perfect. (They also did alterations on her dress as well!) It was an ok dress but after being fully altered including shortening the hem, being taken in, slit opening, bra cups, added boning, hand sewed lace applique, bust darts, sleeve adjustment, & steaming it all done by Altered Bride it became a show stopping dress! They took inconsideration all my needs of comfort, mobility & inspiration. The inspiration is drawn from Lord of the Rings, & Star Wars. I had a train that we decided to turn into a cape/cloak to meet the inspiration of Star Wars / Lord Of the Rings. Hand made braids were added to give it an "elvish" touch while sleeves were added to give a Jedi look. Suggestions and support were made by the team on site to achieve the perfect look to fit my needs. Also I wanted to be able to wear my cloak to Disneyland after the wedding so they assisted me in making it a functional piece by adding in sleeves and a bustle. Elise is so amazing in all her expertise and attention to detail. I thought the first dress I tried on was my #1 pick until I tried the 2nd dress, and I saw a vision of a wedding made for me and me alone. The price of the dress is unbelievably reasonable. I also found the perfect veil to complete the entire look. It's such a stress reliever to know my dress will require minimal alterations.
