This is a perfect afternoon stop if you are in the area on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Great to bring a date as an afternoon weekend activity. We enjoyed our experience at this family owned Italian style winery. The grounds are beautiful and the staff we encountered are friendly. The food menu is limited but you must try the pizza. There is a wood burning brick oven that they use for their delicious pizza. Both the wines & the pizza reminded me of Tuscany. Simply amazing.

I always have a pleasant time at Altamont Winery whenever I visit. I enjoy those summer afternoons spent sipping wine in their garden and gazing at the beauty of the outdoors. I've tasted a few of their wines but Elefanté Dolce (red) remains my one of my favorites. I love its rich aroma. It is also sweeter than most red wines. I love its quality and affordability at the same time. You can't really beat the price at less than $20 a bottle. If you're a fan of red, I would recommend giving it a try. Though I like coming here in the summertime, I also enjoy being here during early fall, when the vineyard is filled with grapes. I would say that this season is one of the most popular as more people seem to come here around this time. If you're looking for a local place to get your wine, I would recommend coming here. It's relatively close to the area and not hard to drive to.

server was a bit too young to give knowledgable answers however the atmosphere is spa like. Jazz music playing. Local fruit cheeses and chocolates a plus! No water provided to rinse glasses in between tasting. You can taste at the counter or at a barrel table, but you risk being forgotten. Wines are not anything to write home about, but God knows I've had much worse! The Pinot noir (which I normally don't care for) is decent paired w dark choc. The Leon Millot was new to me and actually a full bodied complex wine and the grapes are grown on site. Got to meet the owner Michael as we were leaving. Very personable and knowledgeable. Bought a bottle because of him!

Had our company picnic there today and had a wonderful time. Between the food, drinks and overall service, we had a great time. Thank you!

Valentines weekend called for a trip down memory lane and to one of our favorite places, The Berkshires. Upon arrival our room was not ready so we looked for a wine bar/winery on Yelp. We were so thrilled to find Balderdash. They were pretty crowded since it was Valentine's Day, but we were able to grab a table in front of the live music. I ordered a wine flight (mostly from California vineyards) they don't grow any grapes here and my husband had a beer. What I also love about this place is that you can bring in your own food. I did see a bunch of couples sharing crackers and cheese. They had a cannoli cart pop up which was delicious! The live music was also great! I honestly didn't want to leave since we were having so much fun. I wish we lived closer we would be here all the time. If you get a chance, check out this winery and enjoy a glass and some music on me! Cheers

It's a small batch farm winery and OMG they have the wines dialed in! Whites, reds, fruity, cooking, dry, sweet... so much variety and the grapes are actually grown here too - not just bought somewhere else and processed. It amazes me how many options and varieties they continue to offer! There's a whole better experience have a tasting when the maker is the one serving and can tell you EVERYTHING about it. One of my most favorite things about the wines here is that I never get a headache. These wines are not overloaded with sulfites like the bulk wines at distributors and stores. Their prices continue to stay in the 10's to teens range even though it apparently makes it harder to keep things running at a time everyone is tightening their wallets with everything else costing more. When it comes to owner-operated wineries, Hummingbird Hills Winery is a whole new level in quality and enjoyment when expertise meets love and passion in wine making, which is why my wife and I keep making the trip here to re-taste and restock. They've even added an off-grid getaway cabin on their property nestled up on a hilltop in an old apple orchard that they list as The Nests at Hummingbird Hills. It's so quiet there and with so little light pollution the stars during the night are amazing!

Quality: While I didn't fall in love with any particular wine at Hummingbird Hills Winery, the experience gave me a greater appreciation for the creativity and challenges involved in the process. They had a few standard white and red wines, but the menu is filled with lots of fruit wines and specialty wines. Bink's Blackberry Burst was a highlight of the fruit wines, really capturing the blackberry flavor. The speciality wines are even more unique, Goofy Garlic Ginger, Hummingbird Coco Red, and Lion's Tooth Blend, which is a Dandelion Wine. Each one with a cool story and history. Quantity: Wine Tasting came with seven selections, and we ended up trying a few more. Value: $10 for a Wine Tasting. Ambiance: Hummingbird Hills Winery is located in upstate New York, not too far from Albany. They have a large property where they grow their own grapes, and flowers. The tasting room is in a large building. It has bars on both sides with plenty of stools for guests to utilize. Reusable boards and markers allow guests to make their selections so the process moves smoothly. The rest of the tasting room is full of local food items and crafts. Crowd: Several other couples and one family enjoying tastings. Service: Incredible, two passionate and creative individuals running this winery. Parking: The snow forced them to move parking away from their main buildings and near a garage.

A couple members of our group did not want to drink alcohol, but the staff was still very friendly and accommodating and brought them water at no additional charge. We were attended to by several folks and they were all very kind and the service was relaxed. There was no pressure to turn over the table, and we appreciated this as we are all old friends looking to catch up. We also brought in our food from Casa Reyes down the street, and they had no problem with this and even kindly disposed of our trash from the meals. Several folks at our table had the sangria and wine pours and I did the tasting. I was not particularly impressed with the wines and was not interested in buying them, but they were all drinkable and I was grateful to try them. The only major detracting factor of our visit was that there were a lot of fruit flies in the tasting area, which was rather unpleasant. I hope this was a one off and that they can control this in the future, because we would definitely return here.

We tried several of their wines and ended up buying a few bottles to take back with us. The tasting glasses no longer come with the tasting but available for purchase for a small fee. They also offered snack plates where I discovered the most delicious soft cheese. The only downside is that there are no restrooms, only a porta potty. The porta potty is a 'fancier' one that flushes and has a sink where you can wash your hands - they do keep it very clean. Overall worth a trip to sit right next to the vineyards and enjoy some delicious wine.
