She was wonderful with her and took care of her for both days while we attended the wedding festivities. Excellent service. Great communication from owner and sitter. The La Petite staff has always been extremely accommodating with my schedule with my son. Sometimes he needs to go extra when I have him over spring or over fall break and they have always been willing and able to work with me. I cannot say how nice that is! Along with the schedule, my son genuinely looks forward to going to preschool/daycare. He wakes up in the morning and asks, "Can I go to school now?! I don't want to miss Ms Linda." (Who is his absolute favorite) I'll admit, after a few changes in ownership over COVID I was really worried about what would happen. However, I have been extremely impressed by all of the staff members at La Petite Academy in East Lehi. They genuinely care and love my son. They serve healthy (but yummy!) meals, have a clean atmosphere and have amazing curriculum that makes school fun and a good environment for learning. I don't have anything negative to say. At a precious daycare, my toddler had multiple teachers as that place couldn't keep them. Learning tree teachers stay! That's very helpful for consistency. The infant room has great teachers. It goes 0-18 months. Then they have a second room for 18-24 months. The summer camp is great. We haven't used before or after school here but it seems like this can be a one stop shop if you have kids 0-12 years.

I liked the idea of on-demand childcare, and they were available when I needed care, so I took Lucy to Canny Kids on our second day in Utah. I consider this a very fortuitous day, because she immediately loved her time at Canny Kids. I was given a password-protected link to view security cameras, so I could peek in and see if she was okay at her first time in daycare. And when I watch the camera, she is either happily playing, or getting one-on-one attention from a caregiver. I've brought Lucy back dozens of times when I've needed a sitter, but also have made appointments just because she asks to go play at Canny Kids. When my grandma died, and I needed some help through funeral preparation, the staff were so supportive and sweet. I know I can count on them to not just care for my daughter, but many of the staff clearly love her. If you need flexible childcare in the south end of the Salt Lake Valley, give Canny Kids a try.

In their time, despite being perhaps primarily there for the Gold's Gym members, this was where my son spent quite a bit of his earlier years. They were amazingly and astoundingly good to him and for that, all of the girls there (how they ever managed to find such consistently excellent staff remains a marvel to me) will have my eternal gratitude. I don't think any of the staff there was getting rich from the gig, but they never let that stop them from caring deeply and that makes all the difference in the world. As a sort of transitional, hourly place, the time there for the kids was, of course, unstructured, yet a nice, safe environment for the children to learn social skills was never lost sight of. They were all aware of the trust of the parents in leaving their children there and I think they approached their role and responsibility in keeping that intact with all the gravity and importance it deserved. Everything was also kept rather impressively clean, no easy feat to be sure, even to the kids. The times where I picked up my son over the years he was there were exceedingly few and far between when he had a soiled diaper and they played a substantial part in helping him with his potty training. It's little things like that, which fell outside of their strict function and which there are myriad examples, that really set this place apart. We were enormously fortunate to find it and it was a sad day indeed when it was shuttered. My hat's off to everyone who was there throughout the years.

All of the women who work here are wonderful with my son, know him well and have taken the time to make him feel comfortable. He loves going to daycare and feels comfortable. The owners, Caitlin and Nicole, have taken the time to get to know my husband and me, and have made sure our son is happy. It is only part time, so you are limited to 20 hours a week. It is also a good idea to make your reservations a week in advance. The rate is beyond reasonable and a lifesaver for parents like us who just need a few hours to fill in the gaps between work schedules.
