All the reviews are old on here. Thought I'd give a more updated review. My kids have been going here for 2 years. I'm impressed with their prices, staff and cleanliness. At a precious daycare, my toddler had multiple teachers as that place couldn't keep them. Learning tree teachers stay! That's very helpful for consistency. The infant room has great teachers. It goes 0-18 months. Then they have a second room for 18-24 months. The summer camp is great. We haven't used before or after school here but it seems like this can be a one stop shop if you have kids 0-12 years. read more

Meals are included in price, even the formula for kids under 1 (regular milk based formula, I think they use Enfamil). Playground is pretty big and they have some green areas and lots of shade. All playgrounds are divided for the different age groups. I really really LOVE the teachers in the infant room, they're so loving and caring, just what a little baby needs and somehow they manage to split all their love and attention equally to all the little babies. Learning Tree Schools has been a wonderful fit for our family. We have two medically-complex, developmentally delayed children, and Learning Tree has been very accommodating and understanding of their medical needs. I love their focus on early education, potty training, and routines. The teacher to student ratio is lower than what is mandated statewide, and I love how they have systems to support teachers, such as multiple teachers per classroom, break systems, etc. so there's accountability and support for the teachers. It makes me feel so much more comfortable as a parent, knowing that it's not just one person all day with my kids, but there are cameras and lots of other adults around. They have a diverse menu that I always show off to my kids' pediatrician and specialists. They have also adapted the meals to be safe for my kid with severe food allergies. Both of my kids have had language delays (severe and mild), and both are singing and quite talkative after going here for several months to over a year. My kids have also blossomed socially and have a wide interest in various toys and activities. My kids are especially into the puppet shows. They also bring in a professional kid photographer who is amazing at getting great photos out of very young people! Any problems that I have encountered have been addressed in a timely and professional manner. I am grateful to have found a daycare close to home that provides exceptional care for my kids. My daughter (6 yrs) has been attending The Learning Tree daycare for about 20 months. I chose the daycare because there were limited options in the area. Over the almost 2 years she has been attending the daycare, I have noticed the staff become less caring for the children as well as the parents. I have witnessed the teachers regularly yelling and disrespecting the children. The facility participates in the federal food program which is a very valuable option for those who need it. However, if your child does not want to eat the food, the staff still requires them to take the plate and then throw the food away. This is definitely not a habit I want my child to learn. When I brought my concerns up with the director (Bethany), I received very little understanding and a comment "You can choose another daycare or you can take your child directly to school" (to avoid the required breakfast). Neither one an option for my work schedule and the school my daughter is attending. Recently I received a call from the director threatening to not pick up my daughter from school because I failed to pay the week tuition for Christmas week (she only attended 2.5 days of the week) and quite honestly it slipped my mind. If she had reviewed my account, she would have realized I always pay on time and often early. Instead of a threat to pay over the phone, a polite call would have been appreciated. The lack of respect starts at the front desk and spreads through the facility to 70% of the teachers my daughter has been involved with (or I have witnessed while walking to her classroom). Sure there are a few who are sweet and caring towards my daughter but not enough in my opinion. If you are seeking a daycare in the Murray/Millcreek area, you will probably be in the same predicament I was in. There just aren't enough childcare facilities. I'm writing this review so that any concerned parent researching this facility has the full picture of the Infant room. Since being a working mother, I had to put my son into daycare while I worked full-time. I found this daycare based off its proximity to my office. I did some research online as well as visited the facility a few times prior to signing up. The first week was a sad adjustment and although I understood that there is would be this adjustment period my poor 3 month old didn't sleep at all while in their care for days and became delirious. I decided to stop in during the day and check in on him as well as breastfeed to see if I could assist in helping him sleep. I noticed that the infant room teachers changes so frequently it was hard to find someone in there to be consistent with working on my son getting the right amount of sleep. I also noticed that when they worked with other kids on sleeping some teachers would cover the babies with their blankets which was a big surprise considering SIDS is a huge factor in daycare deaths. The daycare was specifically noted to not feed my son any food products without my prior approval. After being in their care for a month or so I received a frantic phone call from Tania stating they fed him apricots and he started to have a bad reaction. Which now in hindsight is a complete lie - Little did we all know, my son was anaphylactic allergic to dairy. I ran over to the daycare to see this proof and I had to rush him from their school and take him to St. marks hospital ER. Why didn't they call an ambulance? And why did they lie and feed my son dairy?!? Esp when he was strictly on a breastmilk diet? Not only did this get me enraged but sending me text pictures of his symptoms worsening and them not being proactive - how is this legal? Needless to say pulled him out that day. This place is the worst daycare with high staff turnover rate, lack of respect and knowledge of babies and for any concerned, involved parent do not go here and waste your time. I took my twins her in order to compromise with my ex, who lives near St. Marks. I saw the reviews and wanted to go to the West Valley location but like I said I compromised. BIG MISTAKE!! In short, I do not want to bash but I have pulled my kids starting May 2. It would have been sooner if I could, they are going to the West Valley location. Trust your instinct, if it feels bad it is bad. The private daycare was something I really wanted the girls in but honestly every time I went, the ex or my mother to pick up the girls, they looked crazy messed up and dirty. My one has had an accident a day, big ones, that no one bothered to tell me about, she told me. She is potty trained but if she feels not paid attention to she acts out and she has been acting out the last two weeks. She has come home with rashes which is disheartening because she knows better but we also know her triggers as well. In addition, I don't like that the teachers have no clue whats going on; there always seems to be chaos and I feel I could pick my child up without them noticing which really bothered me. Overall not impressed and wished I would have gone with my gut. Hopefully the West Valley center is better, I get the feeling that they are. Both my sons attend Learning Tree and its been a great experience for our whole family! The preschool program for ages 3-5 is awesome, my oldest has progressed leaps and bounds and is excelling in almost every scholastic and social category. He is excited to go to school almost every day and even learned sign language (he can sign the entire alphabet!). Some preschool teachers are tougher then others but there is a great balance which is key (not all the kids are well-behaved, so there needs to be some tough love sometimes!). My younger son is in the toddler class and is well on his way to being potty trained which is amazing!! He has also been progressing every week and loves his teachers. All classes follow a strict daily schedule with plenty of outside time and a solid classroom curriculum. The playgrounds are separated by age group and there is tons of space outside. The directors are always available to answer questions and they address any issues immediately (you just have to take the time to talk to them!). Once a month the school has family nights and I would highly recommend these to all Learning Tree families, this is a great way to get to know the teachers, directors, and other parents/kids!! Parental participation and communication is important to the success of any daycare or school and they make sure the parents are constantly involved and informed! read more

I had so many issues they're hard to count. Here are the concerns and issues I dealt with and here are the responses and excuses I got from the owner of the school: 1. The teachers didn't know where my child was when I would come to pick her up day after day. Owner's Explanation: "Well they found her didn't they? It's not like she was outside in the street. They ended up finding her so it's fine." 2. The phone were down all day due to power outage, and no one notified any parents. I was trying to call and was unable to. Owner's Explanation: "She was fine though. It's not like she was in danger even though you couldn't get through to the school." 3. The director calls kids "retarded" and "slow". Owner's Explanation: "Oh, I don't think she would say things like that.. is your daughter sure that's what she heard? Maybe she misheard her." 4. Teachers make political and racist comments around the kids. Owner's Explanation: "Haha, well we do have some opinionated teachers here." 5. Teachers tell kids that they better be telling the truth or they'll find out by watching "the cameras". Owner's Explanation: No explanation. 6. A teacher accused my daughter of lying about taking a vision test when the school was so disorganized that they didn't even know if she took the test or not. *She didn't btw.* Owner's Explanation: "Maybe your daughter was confused if she took the test or not. Are you sure she isn't mistaken? You're making a big deal out of nothing. If you believed your daughter didn't take it, why did you even ask the teachers?" 7. Owner refuses to manage or counsel staff about any issues. Owner's Explanation: "I don't make my staff apologize. That's a feeling they have to have on their own and decide if they want to say sorry to a student or a parent." 8. After bringing concerns and questions to the owner after being unable to have any kind of conversation with staff because they're so uncomfortable around adults, she threatened to kick my daughter out of the school when I brought these concerns to her attention and I was admittedly frustrated in doing so. I told her it's my job to be a parent, it's not my job to make sure her staff feels warm and fuzzy regardless of the seriousness of the situation. They want to avoid any responsibility for their own mistakes. The teachers can do no wrong, while the young kindergarten children are the ones blamed for a disorganized and chaotic school with extremely high turnover. It's obvious the problems are internal, but they insist on pushing blame onto my parenting/communication or my daughter's interpretation of the truth. We strive ourselves in being honest and up front with others. The school does not do well with people like this. If you go here, you better hope nothing happens that you don't agree with or like because you CANNOT bring it up without being berated for feeling anything other than perfectly satisfied. If you do come to them with concerns, they'll threaten to kick your kid out in the middle of the school year and say horribly nasty things about your parenting abilities and character. read more

I wouldn't even give this facility one star if I didn't have to!!!! The teachers are horrible they smile in ur face and act like they care for the child when they don't everything tht is asked of them Is never taken into account. My son had extremely bad diaper rash because they did not change his diapers in a timely manner when I went to the doctor and got special compounded cream for him they wouldn't put it on! When I brought this up to the director she simply said "oh the teacher must have forgot!" I was sooo appalled by her behavior I had hard time not screaming at her! I should have takin him out of there right then and there! But I said hey give them a second chance. Not soon after my son began to teeth and needed teething meds tht are over the counter the director did not administer them because she said she could not find frm wht age and up use was ok. I have a 8m infant and right Infront of the box it said frm ages 1m and up!... Not only tht but she did not call me to alert me tht she was having a issue with finding the age tht the medicine can be given at....Instead She let my infant child go thru pain of thee thing without any relief when the medicine was 10ft away frm him frm 8am-6pm! My sons eyes were blood shot frm crying so much. When I picked him up! Again like a idiot I kept him there the last straw was them calling CPS on me for a bruise on my child's eye tht happened under there care which was clearly stated in the incident report. They lied to the CPS officer and said I never put diaper cream on him and he has a rash! I couldn't believe my ears! I had never seen grown adults lie like tht to save there hides. This place is some where I wouldn't send even my enemy's child they don't care for the kids at all!! Or your property they soiled my $50 diaper bag by putting dirty cloths in with clean cloths and by leaving half drank milk in bottles turned upsides down. My diaper bag was completely ruined when I asked kindly for a reimbursement by cash or in my bill I was told by the director she would have to talk to the owner about It I patiently waited two days for them to tell me they will not pay for the bag! When I said cut it out of the teachers pay the owner who's name is Amy then told me it's still usable! The diaper bag had similac all the way at the bottom of the bag and if u are a parent u Knw tht the smell of similac does not go away and even if it did it would rot inside the bag making it unfit to put clean close or diapers inside of it! There were so many time I would come in and one teacher would have a baby in her arm feeding him/her and my son in a rocking toy feeding him with her other hand. Or there would be one teacher to five infants at once! Also right before I pulled him out I encountered a teacher having a cough being sick as a dog and them not letting her leave she worked in the infant room with my son and my son is now sick. This is the WORST day care center I have ever been to! It's very over priced and the quality of service is crap. I wouldn't mind paying a good amount of money if the service was at least up to par. The teachers are said to have gone through training processes but I don't see it. And the owner was very unkind about running my property! I'm a single mother I can't just pay $750 a month and then when one of her employees ruined something not even say sorry of offer any sort of assistance. I mean when u send ur kids to daycare it's for a break or go to work. But who needs tht when u have facility's like this tht justly her not take my child at all. It has been 3 years of experience, for 2 years it was good. It seems to all depend on who is running the place. Good things to say: Ms Taylor who takes care of the infants is wonderful! Ms Amanda is a rock star!! The kids seriously love her and I wish she could be cloned. The pre-school program is run well (not great). When you walk in and observe you can see the children have a routine, there is a plan and structure. The children are quite but having fun. The children feel safe and know what to expect in their day. Last year the very tall Ms Heather was the Director she was amazing! Children loved her, parents respected her. She looked at children with love, kindness and respect. They in turn treated her the same. She developed reward systems for children to achieve high marks and prizes for good behavior. Children were thriving in her program! When she left we all cried! Then (blond) Ms Heather took the Director position, Ms Heather is kind, loving, empathetic and easy to speak with. Because of her professionalism she gains trust and respect quickly. But I am concerned that she does not speak to the other teacher about their acceptable and not acceptable behavior since taking the Director role. The guy is always nice, wish I knew his name. The kids like him. However they have a lot of other issues to work out: Biggest trend that happens daily now is teachers are angry at the kids. It seems to be acceptable behavior. MAJOR CONCERN!!! Ms Tanya!! Ms Tanya!! Ms Tanya. She use to be great but since taking over the Kindergarten class she is angry, frustrated, yells, stomps around like she hates everyone. My kids say good morning to her and she looks at them like oh great more kids that I have to deal with and does not say good morning or speak to them. Many times she is speaking out load I can't handle all these kids, right in front of the kids, teacher and parents. It's RUDE. The "big kid area" is the worst. There is no routine, nothing but chaos and the "teacher" stand around the room like prison guards. These kids are not criminals!! The kids and teachers all look scared. Kids react differently but it is all fear based. I have witnessed things like shaming, writing up, yelling and other ways to make a child feel bad. Neutral: Ms Britney took over the Director role for a period of time, glad she is not in that role today. She is better with the kids. She has her good days and bad day. The kids do like her and she can be kind and respectful. She is all smiles to parents but my children report regularly that she yells a lot and it makes them scared and feel bad (the child I have in her class is not the one being yelled at but still hard on my kiddo). For the big kids, Hi can you please interact with the kids, give them some ideas on how to keep them occupied so they don't come up with their own ideas. When kids want attention they will seek negative or positive attention. I want them to improve and I believe they can, they just need to see their own actions. I wish the place was cleaner read more

My children attented Learning Tree West location at 3655 W. 2340 S for close to 2 years. The preschool curriculum was great but unfortunately the staff has completely changed since my kids first started. I am sad to say we are not happy with the current staff. They have a new director and many new teachers. The communication from the new director and new teachers is NOT GOOD. My younger child had a serious accident while at Learning Tree West and I had to leave work early and rush to the hospital for stitches. I was told the accident didn't seem that bad but I might just want to come and make sure. My child's head had a huge gash in it that required 2 layers of stitches so yeah, it was terrible! Why was I told "it didn't seem that bad"? The staff had no idea what happened to other than "fell off the equipment". No one saw the accident happen first hand and no one went out of their way to provide me with an appropriate explaination as to how the fall happenedl, what outside could have cut her head open like that, or why no one witnessed the accident. I understand that accidents happen, so I decided to keep my kids at Learning Tree. My older child started to have major anxiety upon being dropped off at Learning Tree, saying she felt like no one cared about her. I know the morning teacher was very nice and attentive, but I think the afternoon teacher (who was also brand new to that location) must have had too many kids to deal with because my child did not receive the attention or care that she needed in the afternoon. The final straw for us was, I arrived to pick up my kids and could see my oldest child through a glass door outside. She was just sobbing while a group of teachers were chatting it up about 10 feet away from her. I asked her why she was crying, she said her stomach hurt so the teacher told her to go to the bathroom. My questions were as follows: 1) How long has she been crying?? 2) Why didn't you walk her inside to the restroom and/or help her to feel better?? 3) Why didn't anyone call me when my kid was obviously not feeling well at all?? My questions were not answered. The teacher in charge said she told my daughter to go to the bathroom and get a drink of water. Why wasn't anyone taking better care of her? That is not good enough for me, I need someone to at least have the decency to walk my kid inside and help her get a drink and go to the restroom and CALL ME IF SHE IS SICK! None of these things happened so that is why I removed my kids from Learning Tree West. read more
