    Lasted, and lasted, and lasted!

During my stay at the Newport Hospital, my relatives in Sweden sent me flowers. I have been receiving flowers for many many years, yet these flowers were outstanding! They came home with me from the hospital, which was a week, and still bloomed for another week. They use the freshest long lasting items which before we left, I passed onto someone else to enjoy they lasted so long. I would highly recommend this Florist. It is quite a drive for the delivery but nevertheless, it arrived beautifully.

What was actually delivered. This was what the store said was their $70 "Premium" arrangement.

I ordered a delivered flower arrangement for my Mom's birthday (who lives less about 5 minutes away, tops) directly from Alsea Bay's website. There were 3 tiers for every arrangement so I ordered the top tier ($20 more than the bottom tier) hoping for a beautiful arrangement. That is not what she received. It wasn't even like the picture. I was disappointed but my mom's husband said that it wasn't a big deal and I spent $70 on this, so he was going to give Alsea Bay the chance to make it right by going in and talking to them the next morning. Now, my mom's husband is a pretty mellow guy, and always looks for the best in people. He was trusting that if businesses knew how unsatisfied a customer was with their service, they should be given the chance to fix it because mistakes happen. Wellllll..... It didn't quite go like he thought it would. He took the actual arrangement and a picture on his ipad of what I ordered, with the additional info about it being the premium version of the arrangement in the picture. And he said that this was for his wife from her daughter because she had wanted to send something really special to her mom for her birthday -- and this is what she got. The guy said, "well that's our version of that arrangement." My mom's husband asked if it was the premium version of it because I paid $70 for it. I'll skip all the interim, but the bottom line is that he said no, they wouldn't make it right because it was fine, and to get the f... out of his shop. My mom's husband said it's really better and easier to just correct something than to deal with poor reviews. Then the guy said many more f words. He also said he was "agitated" (his word) that my mom's husband would even be asking about this. And when my mom's husband tried to explain why, the guy got more and more upset. Also, it's not a huge thing, but the card was wrong also. I typed out the request, so it's not like they couldn't read my handwriting. So crazy. Didn't want to make a bigger issue out of it so he left the shop. I have never seen customer service like this in my years of working in customer service. Had one of my employees tried to give a poor quality product like that, I would have coached and corrected the behavior. Had the spoken to one of my customers like this man did - regardless of the situation - I would have given them their final paycheck. That is inexcusable behavior!

The fresh flowers that she sells are so pretty and very reasonably priced Her tea cups and saucers are fantasy based and the paintings she creates are full of whimsy, lightness and blissness. Aria the owner is easy going and you can tell she's happy in the space she's created. She also has art classes here. We came here for a tea party and we got that and more. There were many unusual and delicious tea choices. From lavender grey tea to pink lemonade tea to amber bliss etc. There were tiers of goodies from little quiches to these amazing fruit cheesecake layers of awesomeness to a french bread/brie/berry jelly topped off with rosemary etc. She has some wonderful options of different flavored sugars such as ginger and lemon as an example. You may buy these wonderful delights and then include them in your tea or you can just lavish in sugar cubes. We actually ordered this amazing rose hips iced tea with frozen fruit and mint ice cubes. As part of the special tea party you also receive a lovely bouquet of flowers to take home. This, and Ms. Alice the amazing white fluffy bunny that would visit you from time to time. Romantic and delightful. It's all part of the beautiful ocean surrounding this lovely town and fits in so perfectly.

Everything is so tastefully presented and decently priced you'll just never want to leave. I came in to buy a bouquet and left with a bunch of other things too! I ended up doing a tea tasting which was so much fun, I highly recommend the "house blend" made with wild huckleberry. The book selection deeply impressed me, lots of cool titles I hadn't seen before anywhere else. It was amazing to get to talk with the artist and see such a wide range of artwork, SPOILER ALERT they're all gorgeous! On top of everything else, the owner teaches art classes, hosts tea parties, AND you can even book the tearoom for a baby or bridal shower. There's no end to the number of awesome things to fall in love: Alice the rabbit, artisan pastries, and the positive energy in the store (just to name a few.) Simply, you'll be blown away totally worth 5 stars and much more.
