All you really need to know about Blake's is that they give you a hot stone to warm your hands when it is chilly outside. Isn't that the most charming thing ever? Okay, maybe it's not the only thing you need to know, but when I visited on an (actually rather balmy) early spring day, and a nice young man walked over to hand me one, I so appreciated the gesture, as did my always-frozen hands. As it was so early in the season, he explained they were not as stocked as they would usually be, but I still found plenty of tempting goods: loads of herbs, peonies, and strawberries, seed potatoes, pansies, adorable daffodils, even a section of "clearance" plants looking a little worse for wear but still with plenty of spunk remaining. They have a koi pond, chicken run, and a beautifully landscaped covered garden. A bubblegum pink camellia was really showing off in that latter area. They also have seeds, pots, soil, fertilizers, and various amendments. There was a small assortment of houseplants inside, and some very cool locally crafted cement planters. Every single employee I encountered was friendly to the tenth degree. Seriously, they were all so nice to me and every other customer with which I saw them interact. Prices are similar to what I've seen at other area nurseries. I think they also offer landscaping, and judging from the beauty I spied all around, they would be a great option.

This place is magical the owners are so humble and respectful and the kitty cat Frankie is adorable as well. I promise you'll appreciate the extra love they have for all the wild and wonderful plants . this place is a work of art , so take a deep breathe in and take a moment to relax and appreciate the experience your about to have ! Peace be with you . ShannanAnthony Brown
