Always loved my visit here and stopped by whenever I passed through this section of I-5! It's such a beautiful and relaxing place to walk around and pick a few things that make life worth living! I promise it'd worth your time. They have so many amazing things besides plants! Their collection of indoor plants and outside bonsai are so impressive. What a lovely nursery... the staff are delightful and the selection is excellent. The plants we purchased were all healthy and happy. Too often I pick up plants that are root bound and borderline healthy, but not these. On a Sunday afternoon there was live music, wine tasting, spirits tasting and it was a beautiful place to browse and wander. Prices at nurseries are often shocking, but Garland's is not out of line and the customer service goes a long way toward adding value. If you are looking for plants, trees, soil, garden decorations, bonsai or a multitude of other green and growing things I would suggest you give Garland's a look. read more

This is a beautiful Nursery with extremely knowledgeable Staff! I still haven't explored the perimeters as I fall for Plants & spend my funds before venturing out. They seem a touch more expensive than a Home Depot type Garden Center but I feel the Plant instructions & Bug Free healthy Plants are worth it! read more

Sometimes I am not so excited about the prices, but then I don't actually have to buy anything. It's nice just to go walk around the nursery for inspiration. Garland is the go-to shop in Corvallis for bonsai supplies. Whenever I need something, I take the time to peruse all the rest of the bonsai, and if I have time the rest of the grounds. I need more property because.... no room for more landscape plants. So many are just so lovely. The staff is always friendly and helpful. And knowledgeable. And Fanta the Cat is cute. My only real dig is when they send out occasional announcements for sales, the headline is something like, "EVERYTHING in the store is on sale at least 20% off" or "All planters and pots 30% off." Then there's an asterisk that says something like: uh... not everything; if you like bonsai, yer gonna pay more. read more

Best COVID shopping experience yet! Yes, I know that Garland's is an outdoor experience. But I'm learning that you can't count on other people to keep a respectful distance. Unlike other garden shops, Garland's lets you preorder, they gather your items and place them on a cart. Then when you arrive, you park in one of the 6 designated spots, open your trunk, call the number on the sign, they wheel up the cart and load it into your trunk. We drove from Portland to get our items (we wanted a specific hydrangea they carried). We had been putting of going to our garden center near our house because it was crazy crowded (I'm not going to wait in a line). At Garland's we were able to get our specific plant, and Laos's up on everything else wwe needed. So worth the drive! read more

I have been shopping here for over 30 years. I started out young and not knowing what plants grow in our area, I spent a lot of money learning and having a lot of plants die, now that I'm old and wiser it makes me wonder why they would even sell tropical plants. My bad. I stilled loved the place even though higher priced, I was able to get unique colors of things. I've purchased many very large pots and other things aside from plants. Today, I am feeling very let down, I've never returned anything ever but I had an issue with a planter, that I've never had even on 25 year old pots. I was really just hoping to exchange it. Instead I was not acknowledged by the person in charge in regards to the product, I was basically told it's my fault. No resolution, killing flies was more important. I felt like it would of been better to just say go load your car with the $50 of stuff you brought take your pot and get lost. Absolutely NO concern period. Im pretty saddened I won't go there anymore, nor will I recommend them. Most of the time everyone is great, the younger people generally are awesome, the older gal knows better. Im a good spender but no more. Kathy would have never treated me this way, whoever is in charge needs to dig in and stop taking the customers for granted. read more

We went here as a family and took our kids. After only a few minutes we were told by an employee that my nonverbal autistic 4 year old was being too loud. (The only way she communicates) The audacity to come up behind us and tell my girl to shut up before asking us to leave. This joke of a business is not disability friendly or kid friendly. Incredible nursery. It's like Disneyland for gardeners. Glad I finally made the jaunt down from Salem. The place is huge and beautifully maintained. Plants are lush and heathy. They have everything including tools, cool gifts and bonsai. I was able to get the beneficial nematodes (refrigerated) I'd been looking for to treat black vine root weevils damaging my rhododendrons and at a reasonable price. All prices seemed equivalent to the big box home improvement stores. I was thrilled to be able to add uncommon hydrangeas to my growing collection which was the initial impulse behind my trip to investigate. Turned out Garland is great fun and a wonderful resource for the casual as well as the fanatical gardener. read more

If you are in the area and want plants for your yard this is the place to go. It has lots of wanna be competition, nut I haven't seen anywhere that comes close. It's is in league with the best of Portland. They are big with lots of healthy plants. Everyone that works there seems ready to help you to find what you need. They are also good at answering questions. This place has lots of plants, of all kinds. They also have bird feeders, and decorations for your yard. ( nothing with an engine though) My biggest surprise was that there is no indoor plants. It had been a while since my last visit and I had assumed that a nursery that big would have house plants. On a hot summer day in Corvallis, Garland is its own little paradise off Highway 20. You can spend the day here, get some soda.... and definitely come home with some plants, statuary&gardening implements. It's a spectacular nursery. There are little hidden gardens of their own, off the main paths. One can't hear the highway, it's a world of its own. Garland Nursery feels like a "Secret Garden" from the classic work. The people are helpful, the selection is excellent. You can spend hours here, contemplating the plants, watching the hummingbirds, listening to the insects buzz along with the mourning doves. Garland is my go to nursery in Corvallis. It's always organized and it's generally easy to find what I'm looking for and when they don't have a specific plant they'll do some research for me. I've only had one encounter that left me a little disappointed but that's been more than made up for by their willingness to talk though houseplant care (yes they have houseplants), troubleshoot tree issues, load and carry things, and generally just show genuine interest in doing everything they can to help me succeed. I can also highly recommend the work done by their Landscape Architect, the at home designs have saved hundreds in failed plants and indecision. read more

We LOVE this nursery. Rose at Wee Tree Farms is an absolute treasure. My husband took a number of bonsai classes from her and increased his bonsai collection by several trees over the summer. All of the employees were nice and knowledgeable. The prices are comparable to other nurseries in the area but the quality of product and service can't be matched. read more

This is indeed a wonderful nursery. Beautiful plants - in the summer - and many things to compliment the garden, along with any tools or accessories you may need. Only 3 stars because I went to the "Member Appreciation Day" and there was nothing to show appreciation. Prices were high, most plants were not watered and it seemed too many things were leftovers from last year that didn't sell with a new higher price tag. Was really disappointed and wondered how this was an appreciation day. Will return, but later in the year if they have new plants and better prices. read more

When it comes to buying plants in the Albany/Corvallis area, Garland Nursery is hard to beat. They have a very wide variety of plants available including flowers, grasses, roses, herbs, perennials, fruit trees(which includes citrus!!). I bought two fig trees, one navel orange tree, and one calamansi tree from here. All were in great health and they are currently thriving in my backyard. The staff was relatively helpful and the prices were reasonable(especially for the citrus trees). If anything, I just think their location is a bit tedious to get into when you're going 55mph on HWY20. read more

Going to Garland was a great experience. I didn't know anything about plants, but the staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. They answered every question I had and suggested pots and soil that would best fit my needs (and they even suggested the cheaper products, so they weren't just money-grabbing). Also, the grounds were just lovely to walk around in, even in winter. I can only imagine how beautiful it must be in spring.
