Unfortunately, for me, the motor on my machine was broken. The shop gave me an estimate to replace the motor and it ended up costing a lot less than if I were to buy a new machine. I now basically have a brand new vacuum and am very happy with the repair. The price was very reasonable for the work done and I had my machine back within a few days! Highly recommended!

Almost ten years later. I'd forgotten all about this shop. I needed a replacement part for my Miele…read morevacuum cleaner, and this place came up as the second listing on Miele's "find a retailer" page. I called the first place and their voicemail picked up, so I called this place and asked if they had what I needed (specified by model/serial number of my vacuum). Answer: Yes, they had it in stock, gave me the part number, and the price would be $150 (and change) after taxes. I drove up and as I was parking, it occurred to me that I'd been to a vacuum store in the same block years ago, but on the other side of the street, and I remembered the badness described in my original review on here. So I go in the store and ask "Did you used to be across the street?" Answer: Yes. OK, well, it's been a bunch of years, maybe it's new ownership, or maybe their behaviour that day long ago was an anomaly; let's see how things go this time. They go get the part (confirmed same part number they cited over the phone), and ring it up: over $180. I say, "Oh! What happened to $150 you quoted me on the phone an hour ago?" Guy goes, "I'll fix the price" and goes typing on his keyboard, then comes back with "So that's $168 after tax". I did not have time, patience, or willingness to get in an argument. I probably should have just said "Thanks, never mind" and walked out (I probably should have been more patient with that first listing where I got routed to voicemail), but I did need the part, and I was there, so I just figured "whatever" and paid it and got the errand done. Not worth fighting crosstown traffic to get to the other place for $18. Come on. Quote the real price over the phone, don't play these bait-and-switch games. One-star review still stands, 10 years later.

I also have donated many vacuums and even other equipment parts to this place of business. Yesterday I tried to clean my vacuum filter and had trouble to align the clear plastic (without bag) container. The older man and owner tried to help me. Another women walked in and he said he needed now to keep my vacuum. He said he would call me by the weekend. He called me back immediately yesterday, and asked me to pick up the vacuum. Today after surgery I went in and I thought he would consider this a FREE customer PR situation. He told me I did not align the plastic container and there placing it back the vacuum made a bad noise and did not have any suction. When I offered him several jars of homemade jam he accepted. I got almost to the outside door and he said you owe me 33.00. I said for what? He said he had to make money.
