Corned Beef Hash & Eggs and a Blueberry Pancake on the side
    Hansel F.

This was my third time here at Al's Super Cafe. Larry is the man! Super patient and takes his time to give every customer equal attention. I ordered the corned beef hash for breakfast. They also have a nice lunch menu as well! I treated myself to a blueberry pancake on the side. Definitely was a nice balance. Everything was made to order and the corned beef, hash brown, and eggs were flavorful and hit the spot. I always enjoy the conversations with Larry, he has so many stories! One of my favorite things there is their house made chili oil sauce! Incredible! So much seating inside and at the counter. I also admire the vintage photos on the wall. A real old school feel. Looking forward to my next visit!

Al's Super Cafe is a no frills old school diner. They have historic art, the red tables and black&white tiles are so classic. The big thing that stood out to me here was the top notch service! They guy who served us was so warm, welcoming, and the food came out timely and hot. We enjoyed a cup of coffee and I got the biscuits and gravy. Wow the portion was huge!! The potatoes were crispy, the eggs were a little greasy for me, but again, the perfect diner food!! I barely could finish the meal, it was hardy, seasoned well. Some may say the perfect hangover food. The biscuits were soft, gravy was dense, delicious. The prices were really good too. I seriously recommend stopping by for breakfast/brunch/lunch!

I was drawn in by the nostalgic feel. Owner is friendly. Prices are not my cheap for the atmosphere, portion size and quality of food. Overall, I would have done better going to 4 chairs next door.

Great food! Excellent service! I love the old school vibe as well as the staff. If you want a delicious classic breakfast that reminds you of your childhood this is the spot!

Great old school diner! Corned beef hash hit the spot. Pancake combo was a hit with my boy. So good!

This is a nice breakfast find for myself! All the portions were perfect and fairly priced. This isn't as good for breakfast as other diners but it definitely hits when you're starving in the morning! The corned beef hash and potatoes were cooked to perfection, it was crispy and soft! My wife loved their fluffiness of their pancakes but a little bit of vanilla would go a long way. Finally, the omelette was delicious and has everything you'd expect and not over cooked.

On my visit to Al's Super Cafe on Mission for breakfast, I had a great experience. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff made me feel welcome. The omelettes and corn beef hash with eggs stood out - they were flavorful and perfectly cooked. Despite a bit of a wait during busy times, the delicious dishes made it worthwhile. If you're looking for a delightful breakfast, Al's Super Cafe is worth considering for their tasty omelettes and corn beef hash with eggs. Plus points for the tasty house made breakfast salsa

Local neighborhood Cafe shop with an extensive breakfast and lunch menu, plenty of seating and reasonable prices ($10-15 avg. meal per person). The people who run this place are really sweet. I got sidetracked with my order forgoing my usual egg scrambles for a tex mex potatos with a side of sunnyside up eggs. It wasn't heavily seasoned. Could have benefitted from doing roasted potatoes or something that gave the potatoes a bit more crispy texture rather than slicing it like potatoes au gratin. Great service, even better fresh squeezed orange juice.

Good drinks, tasty food, great service, and a spacious, open space. This is a great venue for casual and semi-private / private events! Tonight, I was at Out the Road for a staff appreciation event my daughter's school was hosting. The venue provided a nice mix of foods (pizza, chicken nuggets, fried mushroom and cauliflower fritters, kale salad, etc). I enjoyed my Sauvignon Blancs and liked their drink ticket system - our party planner gave each attendee 2 drink tickets to use at the bar. The bartenders/staff were very friendly, warm, and welcoming! Deb was especially lovely. The space is spacious, with plenty of place for folks to mingle standing up, as well as sit down. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning! (In fact, parents from our school will be heading here this Saturday night after an event at school!)

We went on a Friday night, where they had a very loud band playing in the middle of the restaurant. It seemed the only people enjoying the music were the band members themselves. I mean that with no disrespect, there were the people located next to the band that were covering their ears, outwardly! There were people sitting outside, and as they came inside to leave, I jokingly said they must be from up north, as the outside temperature was 55 degrees with a light drizzle. They stated the only reason they ate outside was because they couldn't hear anything due to the band. It's an extremely loud band and a closed space so the music really echo. Unfortunately there is minimal weight staff. I believe that they spent the money on more servers rather than a band, it would be the best business move. Our server came to get our drink and food order, and then didn't come back until it was time to drop off the check. We had a runner come deliver our food, and they forgot the side salad. But by the time our waitress came, we were ready to leave, so we just asked them to take it off the bill. My mom's patty melt was OK, the meat was very thin compared to the slice of bread. My Long Island with also not great. It tasted like a well drink. I would've given 5 stars if the waitress was able to check in on us after we got our food, if the patty melt had better proportions, and my cocktail tasted a little more flavorful.,

Came here with my partner and the waitress only wanted to approach me, and was not nice to my partner at all. When he was mid sentence ordering his drink, she cut him off and demanded to see his ID. ( mind you...it is also his bday...) A while later, we decided to get another round and he raised his hand hoping to get her attention. I completely understand that being a server is hectic and very stressful, but a little acknowledgment when you see your table asking for you should be bare minimum. She completely ignored him multiple times. When she finally came to our table and bluntly said to him " I see you okay. I'm doing other things but I see you. " she only wanted to speak with me when ordering also....which I found kind of weird. She is also not the nicest to the table next to us also, so at least it's not targeted. But aside from that, drinks and small bites are pretty standard for a cocktail bar. Nothing too special, but a good place to try with friends. The service mostly ruined it for us that night.

Everything we ordered did not disappoint: Fried Chicken: Crispy, golden, and classic. The meat itself is mild, but it works well with the sides, the punchy, savory collard greens balance out every bite. Creole Crawfish Étouffée: Rich, deeply flavorful, and comforting. Fried Pickles: Crispy, tangy, and great on their own, but pro tip: put a fried pickle right on your spoonful of étouffée. The crunchy, vinegary pop against that rich crawfish sauce is incredible. Pork: Perfectly seasoned with the perfect tenderness with just the right amount of satisfying bite and chewiness. Dr. Pepper Simmered Short Ribs (Daily Special): Boneless, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and beautifully balanced with sweet and savory notes. Side Note: The chicken, pork, and short ribs all came with mashed potatoes, and the way they season those potatoes managed to complement each distinct main dish perfectly. Honestly, not a single miss on the table. As someone who has works in the restaurant industry, I understand firsthand how challenging this business can be, and I have a tremendous amount of respect for the people who work hard to make a dining experience memorable. That's why I don't say this lightly when I say that our food experience tonight was extremely disappointing. We ordered the pork chop, which was okay, but the cabbage side was honestly hard to eat. I'm not sure if it was intended to be slaw or steamed cabbage, but it was essentially wet cabbage with very little flavor. The potatoes were decent, although the portion was quite small and they had a texture that tasted almost like boxed mashed potatoes. The biscuits were extremely dry and hard, and unfortunately, the butter served alongside them wasn't very good either. The spinach that came with the special was, without exaggeration, one of the worst parts of the meal. It had a very unpleasant taste that made us question whether something was off with it. There really wasn't another way to describe it. For a $44 plate, I expect the steak to be cooked properly, the sides to be flavorful and thoughtfully prepared, and the entire dish to feel worth the price. We also ordered a peach soda that was $10, which already feels very expensive for a soft drink. What was even more surprising was finding out that refills were not complimentary. That's something I feel should be clearly communicated when ordering. This is supposed to be soul food, a style of cooking known for bold, comforting, flavorful food. Unfortunately, our meal just didn't deliver that. Everyone at our table left feeling unsatisfied. We spent $163 for three entrées, three drinks, and two orders of biscuits. When you spend that kind of money and the food is exceptional, you leave feeling like it was money well spent. When the experience falls this far short, it's understandably frustrating and leaves you questioning the value. I do want to give credit where it's due: our server was wonderful. We had absolutely no complaints about the service. He was attentive, pleasant, and did her job well. I genuinely hope this feedback is received in the spirit it's intended. I know how difficult the restaurant business is, and I'm not looking to tear anyone down. I simply believe that when a meal costs this much, the quality, flavor, portions, and overall execution should reflect the price.
