My nine year old car has been running hot the last couple summers. Regular mechanic did the expected, but this summer bested them. Couldn't drive with the a/c going and that is not an option. As a last resort, I decided to try Al's. Stopped by on a Friday morning and was told they were swamped, but to come back Monday. I was there first thing Monday. By noon, the job was done. Apparently it was a simple matter of 140,000 miles of dirt and bugs packed into the fins on the radiator. They pulled the radiator and a/c coils, cleaned everything up, checked the thermostat, and put it all back together again... for $150. That may seem like a lot, but a week later, on a 100 degree day, the car was running at normal operating temp and the a/c was ice cold. Other places might have changed out the radiator, but Al's cleaned it good as new. As another reviewer noted, the shop is one of the dirtiest you might ever see. I took my 2014 (purchased beginning of 2015) to another highly recommended shop for what appeared as a radiator leak (I was losing fluid from somewhere, but not sure where). This other shop told me I needed a new radiator at the cost of $850. I didn't think a 3 year old car (now out of warranty) should have a leaking radiator. I pulled it from that shop to get another opinion so I went to Al's after reading some good reviews. Before I took it to them I popped the hood, ran the engine to see if I could see any obvious leak coming from the radiator, hoses or elsewhere. As I shined the flashlight into the engine compartment, I noticed 2 couplings below the radiator overflow tank had some surface rust. When I reached under the overflow (plastic) tank I felt some fluid. When I mentioned this to the guy's at Al's it turns out that's all that was needed. $160. Jeff H read more

In these days of swanky waiting rooms, where you wait and wait and wait for the service manager to give you the estimate, only to tell you with a frown on his face, "You've got problems, it's going to be expensive!". AND "If you leave your car, we can have it finished next Thursday"! AL'S RADIATOR SHOP WILL SURPRISE YOU! You can tell from the moment you walk in these guys work on vehicles. Is what you won't find is polished floors and colorful coordinated paint schemes. Is what you will find is a couple guys that know what they're doing, they've been doing it long time, give it to you straight, get it done in a timely fashion and do it for a fair price. On a very cold January Friday late afternoon, my truck heating system was blowing cold air. I called AL'S and spoke with Guy (one of the owners) asked when he could look at my truck. He told me he opened the next day, Saturday at 7:30am and if I got my truck in he would look at it. I was there at 7:30am and at 9:00am my system was diagnosed and for not much more than the price of an oil change fixed and once again blowing HOT air. Additionally, I learned even though I followed my vehicles service recommendations of radiator system flushing with coolant replacement every 50,000 miles or in some cases every 100,000 miles. With the extremes from Winter to Summer, just checking the radiator fluid level and fluid topping off may not be enough. Don't rely on the quick change oil guy that tries to up sell you. See AL'S once a year, have them check/inspect your radiator system, if need the full service is not much more than the price of an oil change and they'll do it the right way. These guys have run their business for many years with the best type of advertising available, word of mouth and that should speak for itself. So if you want a White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino while you wait bring your own, you won't get one at AL'S, You will get good honest service, good work at a fair price. read more

Al's is a really old fashioned shop with the prices and quality to match. They fixed my radiator and air conditioner for less than the dealer would have charged for either partly because they had the knowledge and took the time to repair the radiator not just order an entire new one. The same family has owned the business for 45+ years and clearly takes great pride in their reputation. read more

I feel so taken by them. So used and gypped. not only did they not repair my air conditioner after I paid to have everything done to fix it - 700 plus dollars. Once my husband took it back and three times I took it back. Never even looked at the car. Told me it was because I had a black car that it wouldn't cool. Basically looked at me like I was nuts. Blows hot air. Just like the owners of Al's radiator. Took it to the dealership & paid AGAIN to get it fixed correctly. They said a faulty after market pat was used by Al's. Iwanted to support a local small bisiness but these people are the reason sime small businesses fail and are not trusted. read more

My family has used Al's for as long as I can remember, and all of our cars have lasted 10+ years. These guys are old school and flat out know what they're doing. Rather than replace your radiator, have it serviced every couple years and avoid that potential problem completely. read more

I'm a first time customer but will be a lifelong one. I have a 2001 Olds. Silhouette that has 3.4 one of the worst engine ever built by GM if any of have this you know what I mean notorious for blowing head gaskets, which did in my case, I had that repaired by another shop early this year. My van had no heat and it started to overheat I found Al's Radiator on the web, I enplaned my situation over the to them,(I spoke to Guy) he told me to bring it in so they could look at it, Guy called me back later that night and told me that they found a leak, but because every thing was wet from the rain could not tell where it was coming from he asked if I could leave it with him over night to let it dry. He called me this morning told me I was 1.5 gallon low on anti-freeze and the was coming from the radiator and last; my heater core had been bi-passed so there was no way I could get heat even if I did not have any other problem, and that I should pick up my car and bring it back to the first mechanic.This man could have taken advantage of me, but did not, he is completely honest, truly a good person; he charged a very small amount for the coolant he added ($20) and I must say this takes time to do, because if you ever worked on a radiator you will know that you have to get the air out (purge) the system this could take several hours to do any were else this would have coast me at 3 to 4 hours labor at an average of $85 to $95 per hour($380) and at least $35 to $40 for anti-freeze. So in closing if you are looking for honesty, knowledge, great work and better customer service; then this is the place for you. Guy made me feel like I was a life long friend instead of a first time customer. Thank you Guy and Al's Radiator. I will be back if need be, and will recommend you. read more
