This is all the fries we got. Not happy.
    Don P.

We have been going to Al's Garage for years. The food is excellent and the service has always been spot on. The recent visit we ordered take out. We always get the grilled chicken sandwich which we feel is the best chicken sandwich in town. And with that great sandwich comes the best steak fries in town. This time was disappointing. We ordered the chicken sandwich with the side of fries and cook I guess decided to forget to give us our normal portion. We thought it was kind of strange that the fries were on the bottom and the sandwich sat on the paper on top of the fries. Normally we get the sandwich and the fries are stuffed in the to go box. When you look at the photo. You will see why are disappointed. Fries are cheap and should be stacked in that little to go box. We will go back but we want our fries Al's Garage

Saturday's $7 Al's Burger and side of Truffle Fries split for two.

Every day, enjoy $5 beers and $7 burgers on Saturdays--add a side of fries for just $5. There are a few cozy tables out front, perfect when the weather cooperates. The draft beer selection is a bit smaller than at their sister spot, John Cutter, right next door, but the staff is super friendly and helpful.

My Tri Tip grilled cheese was tough and had no cheese. That is the only reason for the three stars. Other than that, this place is pretty cool. An upscale bar for sure. Our waitress was so awesome I didn't want to complain at the moment. My brother and mom loved the Ruben! A little dark inside, but very clean (including bathrooms), and everything looked new. Yes, kids are permitted, they told me. The same owner as John Cutter next door. Would I come back? Sure. Why not.

Al's Garage in Las Vegas is a fun, lively bar and grill that I've really come to enjoy. After visiting a few times, it's become one of my go-to spots. The bar has a great atmosphere, and as a blackjack player, I like to play a few hands, hopefully score some wins, and share the good vibes around. The food is consistently solid, and I always look forward to their specials. Riley usually takes care of me--she's got an awesome personality, remembers my usual order, and always makes the experience even better.

Excellent dbl burger special. Cooked perfectly, fresh vegetables. The shrimp skewers are large and meaty. Can't beat the price.

The other options in town wanted a parent to be present or just didn't have the cool appeal. The screens at The George are just the best. I called for a reservation and was told for the UFC fight, there is a $50 minimum payment + 20% prepay. I wasn't sure how this would work and as a mom I was a bit worried they would take advantage of the teens. Not at all. The waitstaff was super friendly and helpful in telling them how much they had to spend. They stayed for the full game. They were not rushed. They were waited on the entire time. The waitress didn't just wait on them and ignore them. She continued to help them the full 3 1/2 hours that they were there watching the fight. My son said the food was all great. All the boys had an incredible time. My son said it was the best birthday experience ever. I appreciate the honesty and all of the help from the hosts that helped me a few times with my questions when I called. They were all very patient and helpful. Hummus Duo hit the spot. The craft beers I had were good: Red Hydrant Brown Ale by Big Dog's, and Springfest IPA by Sierra Nevada. Pricing is relatively reasonable: $10 for the hummus appetizer; $8 per beer. Service was friendly and attentive. However, I wasn't told, until I got my bill, that there was a game day service charge of 20%. For my subtotal, this came out to $5.20. I didn't mind paying the fee for getting to watch the event on one of the big screens. However, I think this should have been disclosed to me before placing my order. Another thing I'm not a fan of are the angled arms of the patio chairs, which don't allow you to set your drink on them. Instead, you have to hold it by hand, between your thighs, or put it on the ground. They do have a limited number of stools to place food and drinks on, but you have to sit all the way up to use them. Lastly, why is Big Dog's Red Hydrant Brown Ale the only local beer on the menu? There are some standard craft beers that are well-known, but that's it. The selection is too limited to attract craft beer enthusiasts.

Jolie B was our server and she was AWESOME!! She is a server for others to emulate. Jolie could train other servers how to do a job with pride. Our drinks were never empty, she checked on us often and I watched her provide the same service to every table. She always had a smile on her face and was always friendly. We started with the Wisconsin Cheese Curds and the Jumbo Bavarian Pretzel. The Cheese Curds were some of the best we have had, the batter was a perfect proportion to the cheese and the taste was really good. The pretzel, one of the better ones as well. I had the Orange Chicken, better than any Chinese place in town. Each piece was battered to perfection meaning the batter was not too thick and it did not overpower the chicken pieces. Every piece of chicken was tender and juicy and the sauce was really good, not too sweet and just the right amount of heat. The Mediterranean Salmon was cooked properly. The Salmon was crusted in za'atar spices and pan seared, served over warm cauliflower rice and red quinoa tabbouleh with kale and tomatoes. We skipped the side of spicy tahini sauce. It was really good. We finished off with the Cheesecake Brûlée with berries and it was awesome. The Cheesecake was not too sweet and the brûlée was a nice touch. Overall it was a great experience. The staff, the kitchen and the ambiance. They do not give a military discount which is sad but they are not overpriced either. I'll go back, it's just a really good place.
