We literally went next door and the first thing we noticed is all the dresses they have hanging on the wall with a number. You see a dress you like, get the number, locate on the numbered racks and find your size. It's all self serve. If you don't find your size they will help you find it. We actually had fun seeing everyone come out in their dresses. It was a good experience. They have two mirrors in the fitting room and in front of store. My niece found what she was looking for and the price was perfect $130. I don't remember what the other dresses were going for we tried on. We went during the week on Monday and it wasn't that busy. I'm sure it gets crazy on the weekends. I think they close at 6:30pm but call to confirm but we got there around 4 or 4:30. They had wedding dresses there too that are beautiful. For a young bride on a budget. Some tips. Bring a pair of heels to get an idea of what the dress will look with heels. If you plan on wearing certain under garments or stockings bring or come with it on. Some of the dresses have lots of sequins and can snag and get caught on things. Also some dresses have spaghetti straps, halter or strapless. You want to have the right bra on to see how it will look with the dress. All sales are final. Try to go during the week if you can to be in and out of the fitting room. I think they have 6 or 8 fitting rooms but with so many dresses to try on I can see how you could have to wait for a fitting room. During the weekend they could do things differently to try on dresses and get ppl in and out of the fitting room. Again I was there on a Monday around 4pm. My niece is 18 and this dress is for her high school prom. If you don't see the dresses on the wall with a number to locate yourself on the racks, you are at the wrong store.

Decided to give Fancy Pants Tailor a shot since their website said they specialized in formalwear. Right up my alley of needs. Michelle was prompt in responding to my query on their website and setting up an appointment, and I can't tell you how convenient it is for them to come to me instead of my having to hunt through The Woodlands for a shop (inevitably hidden behind trees, being The Woodlands). Michelle and her mom arrived promptly for the appointment, bringing along everything necessary to get me measured and fitted in the dress I needed altered. They were very friendly and professional and also extremely helpful in making sure I was wearing the underthings/heels I wanted with the dress so it would fit perfectly. They also explained exactly what needed to be taken up (hemmed, obviously, as I am five foot short) and taken in (the bust/shoulders). They also gave me options for how I wanted the top taken in: a quick fix that would be cheaper or a more precise fit (involving recutting the armholes and realigning the entire top and back) which would cost more. I picked the more expensive option because I wanted to alter the dress to fit from now onward, and not just for a one-time wear. I felt the prices were reasonable for their work -- and when I got the dress delivered back (another perk!), the worksmanship was great -- and the timeline reasonable. To be fair, I wasn't in a rush. The dress took about 9 days total, but anything with more delicate fabric or more work to be done may take longer. Of course, simpler things may also take less time. They will give you a timeline at the appointment and I'm sure you can discuss with them if your needs are different. Great work, very friendly, and very convenient. I'll definitely be using Fancy Pants Tailor coming forward. (Also, you gotta admit it: a great name.)

We only needed Kim to shorten the dress because it was too long. She made it WAY too small, and she moved the bustle to the center of her butt. and she moved her belt to under her boobs instead of her waist.
