What an adorable experience! Who knew that the cutest goats were just about 30 minutes away? Alpine Made is a goat farm specializing in skincare products and one of my favorite things, community collaboration. And who doesn't want to just pet some goats? I found myself at Alpine Made on a sunny Sunday afternoon to attend Downward Goat yoga with Love in Motion (and a few furry friends!), and it was a great experience. If you are going to an event here, arrive early or carpool as there is not a ton of room to park. The staff was friendly and helpful and made sure that none of the goats were running into anyone's cars while class was in session. Now, about those goats...they are so stinking cute. All those little bleats, and the fighting between the littlest ones, and you have the best yoga class ever. The staff would cut down branches of the trees the goats liked best, and you can shake them a few times to try to get a goat to come over. Fair warning: goats will be goats, and one goat left a little present on someone's yoga mat, so to speak, so be ready for that natural hazard. Before the class, the goats were in the barn, but in an easy location for a few scratches behind their little goat ears. Adorable, indeed. Alpine Made also had plenty of wares for sale. They specialize in goat milk skin care products. I tried their insect repellent before class, and I'm kicking myself for not buying any because that stuff worked. I am usually the first person to be eaten by mosquitoes and I didn't get bitten once. They also had plenty of soaps and lotions for sale, all of which looked interesting and are worth further investigation. If you have the chance to visit Alpine Made, definitely take that opportunity! The goats are just too cute to pass up.

The Spa at Traditions - Ladies locker room

The Spa at Traditions

(1 review)

This is the place if you are looking for a little relaxation away from home. I booked the…read moresalt/sauna/steam package for myself and made my first visit the The Spa on a Saturday morning. The girl at the front desk was very welcoming. She gave me a key and showed me to the ladies locker room. The locker room is small. Also, the lockers are right in front of the entrance, so it's not ideal if you're shy. People will come and go as you are getting undressed. They were also assigning the lockers in exact numerical order, so while you are trying to get undressed, there will be another patron just standing there waiting to be able to enter their locker which is right next to yours. It would be helpful if they would at least assign them more broadly, so the other patron might be at the opposite end of the row lockers. I will say though, the locker room was pretty clean. There were hot tea and cereal bars available as well as a selection of various toiletries. It would have been nice to have spa water available in there though. After spending time in the sauna and steam shower, something cold to drink would have been great. I returned to the front desk as instructed. I was given the option of which service I wanted to do first. I opted to start in the salt room, followed by sauna, and end with steam shower. The salt room was very relaxing. It's dimly lit and warm. There is soothing music playing. It was a nice way to start the day. The infrared sauna was also very nice. The sauna is located in a private room so when you book it you have it all to yourself. I didn't know there was a color therapy option on it though until the very end of the session but it was still enjoyable nonetheless. A pitcher of spa water was provided so I could hydrate during that part of the session. My one bit of constructive criticism, the floor of the sauna needs to be cleaned. It was very dusty and hairy. Next it was time for the steam shower. The front desk associate who I had been working with told me "All three knobs have to be on for it to work." Simple enough, or so I thought. I enter the steam shower, expecting just steam. There is a digital on/off switch which I hit. I see three knobs. There is no indicator of which is on or off though. So I turn them all and proceed to be blasted with cold water from every angle. I nearly hit the ceiling! I turned the knobs off as quickly as possible. The chamber began to fill with steam. Once that was figured out, it turned out to be a great experience. For $60, this was a great way to spend 3 hours. I left feeling invigorated. I am sure to return to The Spa at Traditions.

White Rose Day Spa &Hair Design - 2nd nail was peeling away less than 48 hours later.

Less than 48 hours after mani/pedi - 2 of my nails have lost the paint, the 1st one I have no idea…read morewhere it went...the 2nd one, I looked down and it had started peeling (half way removed) smh. I spent $120 at White Rose yesterday and tipped $30 - for nail polish that's literally lifting off. I've been traveling in a car for the past 4 hours - so no handwashing/lotion...nothing. Just peeling nail polish. I called White Rose and talked to an older lady who offered for me to come in and have them fixed. Unfortunately I'm already at JFK airport to fly home. I asked if they'd sent me a $5/$10 gift card to compensate for the peeling nails (that I could give to a relative in the 607....something to show that White Rose cared) - the older woman said there's no refunds and since they don't have proof of the peeling nail polish, there's nothing they can do Buyer beware - if you're local you may need to make a 2nd trip for peeling nails. Also..a note about the "spa" atmosphere - it's not "spa" like relaxing with soft music playing. It's "spa" in name only. There's wires all over the mani/pedi room fighting for wall/outlet space, the mani chairs are old and beat, the pedi chairs have trays but one of ours was dirt), and you can hear everyone chatting all throughout the building in other rooms...overall it's not relaxing. Hadn't planned on leaving a review until interacting with the older woman receptionist and feeling like I threw $150 into the river

I visited this spa for the first time this past weekend. I was able to easily make an appointment…read moreonline and was given my first choice of requested appointment times. I was called the night before to confirm the appointment and was advised of their policies at that time. When I arrived the next day, I was warmly greeted by the receptionist. She gave me paperwork to complete and offered me a beverage. The spa itself was pretty and appeared clean. They have a lot of different products on display for sale. I was there for a spa pedicure that day and Abbey was my nail tech. I was taken to a pedicure room in the back. I was the only client in there, which was nice for me. I had the room to myself. It was dimly lit and the vibe was relaxing. Abbey was delightful! She showed me the available polishes and took her time to explain the different kinds to me. I was then allowed to soak in silence for about ten minutes. It was great! She really took her time. It was painless and my feet look and feel great. The mask and lotions applied left my skin feeling baby soft. And the top coat she used is pretty incredible. The polish is so shiny! It looks like gel but it isn't. The overall appointment lasted approximately 75 minutes. This cost more than the average strip mall pedi but it is definitely worth it!! This felt luxurious. I look forward to being a regular of Abbey's and also exploring other services offered by White Rose.
