Alpine Made mainly makes some absolutely awesome soap products, all entirely organic and made from goats' milk! Their farm is based out of South Wales, so it's all locally made. You can find them at Farmers' Markets in the city, local art festivals, the Wegmans on Losson Rd. and the one on Alberta, as well as a couple of local shops downtown and on their website (look, a convenient link to their find-a-store map! https://alpinemade.com/alpine-made-locations/ ) My cousin introduced me to their stuff when they were selling at Horsefeathers a few years ago - back before they exploded in popularity (not to be all hipster about it, but I digress). I quickly fell in love with the herbal salve they make. My hands suffer terribly during the wintertime, and all lotions failed to keep me comfortable and moisturized. All I remember is having a grand epiphany as I sampled their salve. My hands weren't dry, aching and cracked up anymore. It was seriously a miracle. I bought a container of the stuff in a heartbeat. Most of my exposure to Alpine Made's products have been at art festivals and markets. If ever I have questions about the products they sell, they always have a knowledgeable representative ready to explain anything I may have to wonder. I've always had great, friendly conversation with the Alpine Made staff, and it makes me all the more excited and eager to buy their soaps! Commercial skin care products have never worked for me, and so I recently bought their Black Coal soap - it's supposed to be good with acne prone skin, and I can't wait to start using it. I've never been out to the farm, but I think it would be cool if they did tours. It's super awesome that they've got the goat yoga sessions running this summer though. What a lovely spot. Once a church, this is now the home of Alpine Made soaps, lip balms and more. Since it was a church, it has plenty of easy parking (I always love that!). I've bought her soaps in the past at Buffalo farmers markets and stores. They are great and make a welcome gift. She's offering "goat yoga" now too, which is what got me out here. I wanted to experience the newest yoga craze, even though I'm terrible at yoga. In the same space there are other local artists selling their wares, hand made spoons (using reclaimed wood), pottery, some notecards and perhaps more. All local artists working together to support each other. These types of "cooperatives" are all over the place these days. Supporting the locals is easier than ever. This place- and their products - are awesome. A local farm that raises goats with love and care, and then turn the goats milk into something great for everyone. The converted church is a beautiful communal space where they held goat yoga, and they have a nice retail space there as well. They sell everything from shaving soap, to lotion, to of course- soap. This company also sells at local farmers markets and Wegmans. We got to pet the goats there, and check out the property- which is so gorgeous. Bonus- I caught an incredible sunset on my drive home. What an adorable experience! Who knew that the cutest goats were just about 30 minutes away? Alpine Made is a goat farm specializing in skincare products and one of my favorite things, community collaboration. And who doesn't want to just pet some goats? I found myself at Alpine Made on a sunny Sunday afternoon to attend Downward Goat yoga with Love in Motion (and a few furry friends!), and it was a great experience. If you are going to an event here, arrive early or carpool as there is not a ton of room to park. The staff was friendly and helpful and made sure that none of the goats were running into anyone's cars while class was in session. Now, about those goats...they are so stinking cute. All those little bleats, and the fighting between the littlest ones, and you have the best yoga class ever. The staff would cut down branches of the trees the goats liked best, and you can shake them a few times to try to get a goat to come over. Fair warning: goats will be goats, and one goat left a little present on someone's yoga mat, so to speak, so be ready for that natural hazard. Before the class, the goats were in the barn, but in an easy location for a few scratches behind their little goat ears. Adorable, indeed. Alpine Made also had plenty of wares for sale. They specialize in goat milk skin care products. I tried their insect repellent before class, and I'm kicking myself for not buying any because that stuff worked. I am usually the first person to be eaten by mosquitoes and I didn't get bitten once. They also had plenty of soaps and lotions for sale, all of which looked interesting and are worth further investigation. If you have the chance to visit Alpine Made, definitely take that opportunity! What an amazing experience! This was apart of a Yelp Elite event, we got to go to Alpine Made farm and learn all there is to learn about their amazing products they have created. We started with some goat yoga! Craps the goat blessed us with his presence as we were flowing. He even pee'd on my mat! I think he liked me! After that was over with, we had some delicious treats and then sat for a demonstration. Now I've heard of Alpine Made from a craft show and i started with buying their chapstick and i use their goats milk bars of soap as part of my skincare regimen. Let me just say my skin has never looked or felt so beautiful (i get so many compliments) and the chapstick. Omg. It actually hydrates your lips unlike the other balms that contain alcohol so you have to keep reapplying. The fact that Alpine Made is a local business who actually uses real ingredients (non gmo oil, essential oils) is just spectacular and i love promoting anything that has to do with Alpine Made. I came for a yoga event the other day and learned how the make the soap from goat milk. It was relaxing and interesting too. I did buy some soap and have been using it on my face and in the shower, it's A lovely scent and my Skin feels soft. Being outside with all those cute little goat was so great. After yoga inside an old church, we came Out to see the goats and there was a beautiful rainbow with a backdrop that looked like a painting. Heavenly Place to be. The owners and workers Love what they do, and we're So very kind and accommodating. I Looking forward to coming again! read more
