I went here today to sell a couple rifles. This is an "Old School" place and they took care of me and my grandfather's rifles. I like them!

Quaint and well stocked gun shop in small town. Worth a stop when you are in the area.

South Platte Fly Shop - Cleaning up what other left behind in 11 mile Canyon in my South Platte Fly Shop hat.

    South Platte Fly Shop

This is the best fly shop I have ever been in...and I've been to a lot of them over the years…read more Really. Mike, who runs the shop, is awesome, and so are the guides Dave and Ian. They are focused on customer service more than any other fly shop I've visited. My experience was fantastic! While planning a visit to Colorado, I inquired about a guided trip to the "dream stream" via email. Mike responded and we started up an email conversation about what I was hoping to do. I explained that I was visiting a friend who lives in Colorado and that my friend had never fished at all let alone fly fished. He was a total newbie. Mike said that he had several guides who would be perfect for us. It turns out that he was spot on. We booked two half-day trips, back-to-back. I didn't bring any equipment and my friend of course had no equipment, so the shop supplied us with everything we needed from waders to rods and reels. The day before our first day on the river, we stopped by the shop and met Mike and Ian (who would be our guide the following day). Almost immediately, I knew that I had picked the right shop. We got fitted, bought licenses (and a lot of clothing that was on sale), and coordinated the following day's trip. Everybody was super easy going and pleasant. This was a good sign! The following day, we met our guide and followed him to the river (in separate vehicles). Since we had done all of the prep and "paperwork" the previous day, we made good time to the stream. I was stunned when we got there; nobody else was there! With everything I had heard about the "dream stream" being so crowded, I was as happy as I was surprised. Ian (our guide) was super patient. He even helped my friend get his waders on. (My friend had never worn waders.) When we hit the water, he patiently gave both of us some instruction on what to expect and how to fish the river. I hit the stream while Ian taught my friend how to cast and mend, etc. Within 30 minutes of us actually starting fishing, my friend hooked and landed his first fish ever, a small brown trout. Wow! A short time later, I landed one too. We went on to have a fantastic day on the river even though we had to cut the day short due to extremely high winds. The following day, we had another guide, Dave. We met him at the river. He brought all of the equipment with him. The weather was gorgeous and the fishing was hot. We got a decent number of fish on the hook and landed a good percentage of them. We caught browns and rainbows. It was AWESOME! Dave was an outstanding guide! I'll definitely book a trip with South Platte Fly Shop the next time I go to Colorado. I highly, highly recommend checking out the shop and booking a trip with them. The shop and guides with whom we fished are top notch! A personal note: I have fished with guides at least 35 or 40 times in various places and out of various shops and outfitters in several states. I have enough experience with guides that I know a good guide when I fish with him or her. One more note: currently, there is a negative review about an employee. I inquired about it and was told that the employee mentioned in the review is no longer employed by the shop, so don't let that review put you off from this shop.

Not the best service or value, but he was close to my house and I wanted to help out the new business. I then made the mistake of buying a bike from him. At first he tried to dupe me out of the $450 CO rebate. When asked about it, he got rude to me and began lying to me. I hadnt even taken the bike out of the shop yet, and I asked for my money vack. He declined my request, told he he wouldnt do that. At that time he did give me $400 off the original price. The bike broke after using it 3 times. I had owned it less than a month. It has numerous issues, worst of all the main computer was out. It took them 3 months to get it fixed. When picking it up, he charged me $65. On the phone he told me $45. This was to take care of the "warrantied" items. He said he gave the bike a "free" tune tho. The bike didn't look like it had been given a tune up, it wasn't even clean. He insisted it was given a tune up A few days later, my wife and I went on a bike ride downtown. The brakes worked fine, but it wasn't shifting quite right. After the ride, I proceed to wash the bikes and wipe them down. I typically do that after a ride. While wiping down the chain and drive train on my brand my new e-bike, I noticed that my rag was black with dirt and grease. It obviously was not cleaned or tuned at all. The amount of dirt and grease I wiped off took two rags. When I wiped my down my wife's bike, the rag was nearly clean. Jason seems to have no morals or ethics when it comes to his bike shop. Jason is dishonest, and will lie and rip you off with a smile on his face. This is one of those $1300 purchases I'll always regret. Do you homework first, and don't buy from him.

I was looking for a new mountain bike, and I demoed several bikes at their shops and other shops over several months. I deciding to buy a bike from Routes Outfitter. Ric is a class act and I would not hesitate to recommend RO and especially Ric. They do business the way it's supposed to be done.

However, after this last interaction, I will not be returning. I bought a pair of baseball pants for my son and they did not fit. I brought them back within the allotted time frame and was told they would not take the pants back because the receipt showed "unhemmed pants" but according to the worker, "these are clearly hemmed". The UPC code was the same for the pants on the receipt and on the tag on the pants. The worker (perhaps the owner) accused them of being "game worn". I told him that they did not fit my son, so he could not have worn them to a game. Also, I am not sure that I have seen white pants that are still stark white look stark white after a game. I showed him the tag on the pants showing they came from All American Sports. He still refused to exchange them. It really is a shame when the smaller companies do not support their customers, and customers are forced to go elsewhere. Very dissappointed and will share this experience with other parents within the league.
