Watch the interest rate on your vehicle!!!! Alphorn Ford rips you off. They don't try to find a good deal for you, of course not, that means more money for them. We purchased a vehicle from Alphorn Ford in Monroe last year and while we like the vehicle, they have been a few issues. Three to four weeks after we bought it, it needed brakes and rotors. They covered the cost of the parts. When we did the brakes, we found it needed tires. Then, the interest rate is just ridiculous. We both have excellent credit scores, and they gave us 10.39%!! I even questioned the salesman about it, and he said they checked like 3 banks. Well, they obviously didn't check LOCAL banks because I have found out that they partner with First Community Credit Union in Monroe, where the interest rate is much lower, and we bank there. The bank they did is out of California, and a bank that I have never heard of. We should have never agreed to sigh the papers until they found a cheaper interest rate. So beware!! I have had a couple Great Experiences with Alphorn Ford over a few year, My most recent was on a 2025 Ford F-F150, Experience was not so Great at first, But it seemed to final get handled properly by a few of Alphorn Staff. I want to first Thank' my Wife, RoseMarie as she is a New Employee with Alphorn Ford, an very persistant in doing her Job Successfully, (She is truly a People Person to the Core) along side with a couple Sales people involved that were showing me the Truck, and explaining all the options were Cheyenne, she is very knowledgable and knows the Vehicles inside an out. And Dustin, for being so Kind, Soft Spoken, along side with helping an understanding Fiance. Dustin has also helped us in the past with a Previous Truck Ram' and my Daughters 2019 Terrian. The Salespeople both made the Transaction as smooth as possible with only a few hiccups. Along with Taylor in Fiance a True' Numbers GEM and being so Knowledgable with her work. And, Lastly, Eric Meyers for introducing himself, explaining the Transaction in detail, along with his kind, an polite mannerism. Update: Eric reached out to me after I wrote this review. He offered to trade in my vehicle for something else with a warranty attached. While I appreciate him contacting me, I explained that this solution does not work for me as I cannot afford to have an additional loan with my previous one rolled in, nor do I have the money to purchase a warranty. Additionally, I am not comfortable purchasing another vehicle from Alphorn Ford given my experience. I explained I would like for Alphorn Ford to cover the remaining balance of my vehicle loan. Eric told me there is nothing else he can do to help me. I requested to speak to someone else, and he told me Kevin Hoyt would be calling me today, 9/5. Kevin did not call me, I tried calling and emailing him with no luck.  I cannot accept a "solution" that involves spending more money. My dog is extremely sick, and every spare penny I have goes to his vet bills. He is my best friend, and I would rather have him than a car. When selling me the vehicle, Ryan bragged about how much money he makes, and good for him, I'm sure he has worked hard to get to where he is. However, it deeply saddens me to know that a portion of his paycheck comes at the expense of someone like me. I am just a regular person--I work hard and live paycheck to paycheck. I just want to move on from this experience and enjoy life with my dog for whatever healthy years he has left. I will wait to hear from Kevin and hopefully he can help me. Original Post: I purchased a 2016 Ford Explorer from Ryan Alexander at Alphorn Ford in March of 2025. I started having problems with it 1 month after purchase and it was in and out of the shop due to the check engine light coming on repeatedly. Initially, I wasn't too upset about this as I am aware that used cars aren't perfect. However, at the end of June (3 months after purchase) the car would not start. I had it towed to a mechanic who said the timing chain had slipped and bent the valves and the engine had absolutely no compression. I reached out to Ryan and Mark Geiger to let them know about the situation hoping they could help. Ryan said that if I could get the car back to them (I am currently in Colorado, as is the vehicle), we could do a trade. It has now been over a month since I initially reached out, and I cannot get an answer about what the trade would be, when it could happen, etc. I have called and emailed to follow up many times, and either I don't get any response or I get non-response stringing me along. This whole situation is devastating. I now have an $11,000 auto loan on a vehicle I can't drive. I can't afford another car, have had to miss work, and cannot sleep due to the stress. I will be filing a dealership complaint, as well as researching other avenues that may be able to help me. I am so disappointed, as at first it seemed like the dealership genuinely wanted to help, but I no longer think that's the case. read more

Horrendous experience. Had bought a car. Was pressured to leave a great review before I even left the building. Immediately had transmission issues and needed to be replaced. They took the car and said it would be out for a week. I went a month and a half with little to no communication on what was happening. By the time they finally had me come get the car, (that I told them I did not want.) it was also dead. And they made me wait outside until they were done with other customers cars to jump my battery. Not to mention the multiple other issues they denied the car had when I bought it. I admit I should've checked more but I unfortunately had faith in them. They're now trying to get me into a different car. Once they saw me start looking up its history, they VERY quickly tried to turn my attention in a different direction. The car had been in a bad accident and they "had no clue". Anyway, after waiting for my car to get jumped they said they'd drive a new one to trade me out of very soon. It's been a while and again, haven't heard a word from them. Oh and the loaner they lended me had a sticker on the front windshield, illegal. But I found out it was there to cover a crack in the windshield. Employees at the store tell me that the manager Eric, is not a people's person. He's a business person. If I could rate this less I would! Will never go back there. The poorest service ever. As soon as you give them the money they are done with you. Car was supposedly detailed, it was filthy. They left us with no gas in it to get home even. When we got into the car it said zero miles to empty. When we confronted them about it they said used cars they put $10 in. We didn't even have that. They sold a faulty car to me. The rear tires had dry rot in them. I've had the car for only a week before it broke and went to go return it. Was told that we "Should have bought the extended warranty". They refuse to take it back and replacement parts can take up to a year or two to get in. Now I'm stuck with a car that no longer runs over 25mph. Went to go get the title for the car one day and it took them over 3 hours to actually find it because they couldn't figure out where they had ended up putting it. Would not recommend this dealership to anyone as they are rude and sell faulty cars for a "Low price" Called Ford the other day and they couldn't figure out the reason that they wouldn't take it back as there are over 35,000 cars sitting waiting a year or more for that part. If There was a way to give a negative rating for Alphorn Ford it would be double digest. My wife and I were looking for a nice reliable used vehicle when we thought we found it at Alphorn. We liked a 2006 Ford Expedition with only 140 thousand and some change miles. Nice all the way around and fit our needs. Salesman Ken Johnson made sure to point out the new brakes, tires, and oil change to use while pitching his sale. So with all that, one would believe while it was in the shop, things were given the once over. NOT!! 2 weeks after driving it off the lot, AC clutch froze up, thus taking out the starter, AC, idler pulley and belt. $200.00 to tow back to Monroe, and $561.00 for parts and labor. OK, fine stuff happens. Then Ken Johnson bumps into my wife and asked "How is the Expedition doing?" She proceeds to to explain to him what happened, and just walked away with out a word. Next, went in for a routine oil change, find out due to color and smell of the lube oils, they were all changed at Alphorn. OK, but for some reason the mechanics couldn't tell the transfer case was over full and the transmission was low. Such was the case at oil change. Come to find out, seal between transfer case and transmission was gone, thus pushing fluid from transmission to transfer case. So, 2 different shops review it and both come to the same conclusion.... transfer seal bad, PLUS... rear axel bearings and bad spark plug wires. So now another $1500.00 put into it on top of the$ 761.00 from before. Not a week after, get a bad whine when a load is put on it. So, back to the shop it goes. Get told that the Transmission and Transmission pump are bad due to the seal between the Transfer case and Transmission. Take it and get a second look. Same conclusion. SO NOW I HAVE TO DROP ANOTHER $2500.00 plus to get a new Transmission. The Expedition was $8995.00 on the window, they tried pushing a sticker that said it was 10,000$ So, in the end I will have spent around $5000.00 on a 8995.00 Vehicle that We have only made 5 payments on. We would not recommend Alphorn to an enemy. And if it was the only place for a Vehicle, We would rather walk than wonder when or where we would break down! BUYER BEWARE!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!! My wife and I had recently posted a very negative, but honest review of ALPHORN FORD IN MONROE, WISCONSIN. We spoke the truth and have many shop bills to back up our negative review and rating of this shoddy dealership.( I will post and the end) Mind you with the age of Social Media, you are able to leave a review virtually any and everywhere. We worked with Jonny, who went well beyond his typical role at Alphorn and made sure we were comfortable every step of the way. There were many intangibles, that made the experience really comfortable. Jonny's team was able to quickly locate a vehicle that matched our expectations. The vehicle had just been brought to the lot and wasn't even listed yet. Knowing my busy life, they brought the vehicle to me for a test drive. Jonny also answered all of my questions and was available whenever I called. His and had his service team check into everything I brought up, which again made me feel comfortable. Would recommend staying away...the salesman was nice but everything else was terrible, especially their service department. My Wife recently purchased a vehicle from them, and it has been a giant pain. One of the tires had a large gouge in the sidewall that never should have passed their "safety inspection", makes me concerned at what other safety issues were overlooked or ignored. They did replace that tire at no cost but she had to drive it for over a week on the unsafe tire, thankfully it did not blow out in the meantime. The vehicle was also filthy inside when she looked at it but the Salesman promised they would detail it for her before she took it home, they did an aweful job. I found garbage and kids toys shoved under all of the seats, there was dried soda between all the back seats and just general filth through out the entire car. They offered to re-detail it when they repaced the tire, it looked no better than the first time they attempted to detail it! The car was just as filthy inside as when she dropped it off, they put ZERO effort into cleaning it...again. These are only a couple pictures, but this is what they consider to be a "full detail" that was even done twice?? The battery was also so corroded that it went bad within two weeks, had to drop $130 to replace it on a car we just bought. That also should have never passed their inspections! This is the kind of service i would expect from a small sales lot, not an actual Ford dealership! read more

I have been on the phone all day with many different dealerships looking for a car to fit our family. Our beloved Blazer (moved us to Alaska and back again) died last night in the Michael's parking lot and it has been a big stress mess for my husband and I trying to get a new car lined up so we can see our family for this holiday season. I called AF-L-M based on a Craigslist posting I had seen and was connected with Ashley. Car buying can be stressful and under the circumstances I was defiantly feeling it, compounding as I continued to try and get answers from various dealers all day. My advice? Call Ashley first! She made me feel comfortable and she was so helpful to the process with out putting any pressure on us and was able to answer all of my questions. Second star is for Dan in service. BRAND new F150 with a very noticeable hesitation. Was in their shop twice, they put over one hundred miles on my truck and claim they could not feel the hesitation. EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL I've had in my truck has felt the hesitation, Alphorn mechanics say they can't. BTW gotta love a salesperson that says, and I quote, "if you want to trade your truck in, here's my card I'd like to work with ya". ARE YOU SERIOUS! My truck had less than 8K miles on it. **UPDATE 1/30/2013 -Not sure why but my review was "filtered" but it was. I stand behind my first review. I'm sure the people working there are great people. I bought a Honda Accord there and they were really good at negotiating a price. Here is where I have a problem however. 1. They told me the tires were fine and had some tread life left. Afterwards when I took it to someone I trusted tthey told me I should get new tires because they were pretty worn. 2. I noticed a chip on my windshield on my way home after leaving the lot. I emailed and called the following day.They said they would look into what they could do for me. I didn't receive one follow up email or phone call. I finally gave up and just called the glass company myself. They informed me it has been filled already and didn't need to be fixed. I just felt like they had my money so they honestly didn't care anymore about me or my car. 3. Here is the thing that really bothered me. After you agree on a price and you are all ready to sign everything they bring up a paper describing the "vin etching" that has been done to your vehicle. They give you some explanation about how this is standard on all there cars. But they charge you an extra $200 for it. You can not decline the option either. So that price you thought you negotiated just went up by about $200. That too me is one of the shadiest ways of trying to get more money out of a customer. Aside from that I really like the car. I was tired of searching driving and getting the sales pitch from what seemed to be a hundred, closer to a dozen, salesman. As a matter of fact, I talked to Patrick over the phone and didn't step foot on their lot. Once again I explained my needs and wants in a vehicle. Patrick listened and immediately had two options that were good but not just right. He asked to call me back within a short time and three times the charm. He gave me the details on the truck, sent me photos and the options list and set up the test drive. All this within 30 minutes by cell phone and text. It didn't take long, about three miles, and we negotiated the deal back. Total sales pitch to sale of the truck, 20 minutes. Patrick listened and asked the right questions and never tried to pressure anything. He knew my exact needs and wants in a vehicle and the products he had in inventory. If your time is money or you're just tired of a run-a-round salesmen trying to sell you what you don't want, Alphorn Ford is the place to call, visit, check out, and drive away from with your new vehicle. Someone named Tony at this business has called me to see if I want to have my car appraised to sell to them. I have never done business with them and despite having a business cell number from the 200 miles away, they have purchased my number. I called the number and the representative Randy insisted that he could not take me off the their call list stating that I had to take action to get the calls to stop by registering on the do not call list. His number was the callback number, yet he was unwilling to do anything to stop these calls. read more

They do all this talk about having all of these locations that they can transfer vehicles from, what they fail to tell you is that the deal you find at the other location will not following that vehicle. This place screwed us over twice - first they agreed to transfer a vehicle for us, had everything planned out for a Saturday, and then they call us half an hour before we go to leave to tell us they couldn't transfer the vehicle - a total waste of a car shopping day. Then, they transfer a vehicle for us, we hash everything out, discuss the certification and everything and are ready for the paperwork - which they made us sit around for almost 3 hours. We go to sign the paperwork and this guy tells us the vehicle is not certified - yet he still had the retail price on the paperwork listed a though it was a CPO. After emailing with the dealer, he offered me significantly less that what my truck was worth. He then said that the truck offered was a "Great deal! the KBB value is $12,300.00". Well the reality was the KBB value was $9,733.00. They must not realize everyone has access to KBB.com... They will tell you anything to get you to go there. He promised me a value that was actually closer to the 9,733.00 KBB suggested then told me i would actually owe that to him after he took my truck for 1,200$ less than the lowest value KBB recomends on my truck. So pretty much after being insulted and lied to I can say with certainty that I will NEVER purchase a truck from these clowns. I suggest you don't either. read more

I bought a 2006 Chevy Silverado in February & 1 week later when it rained the sunroof leaked & when it did the head liner sagged, so I called them & they said bring it in & they would fix it, So I went in & they worked on it & a hour later they said it was fixed, a lie ! I went to the service area & the service man showed me what they did, cleaned out the drain tubs & they tested it & it was good to go, I open the back door & the back seat was all wet, just like it was when it rained. So we went around & around with this, talked to the sales manager & we took it back to the port where they wash the Vehicles & I told them, look at the seal its dried out & needs replacing, they would not listen. I showed him, was like talking to a wall. Then he says maybe you left it open & it rained on it. I showed him that it closes automatically when you turn the key off, Then the real up setter was when he said maybe while you were in it. well they said he would run the hose on it & we will show you its fixed, I said ok & if it leaks you guys fix the leak & the head liner, they said we don't do that, I said bring it to a place who does, so he said well lets just see if it leaks I think its fixed, it did leak again. I brought it to a place & got a estimate like they asked, faxed it to them. called them the manager said he got it & was waiting for a approval & he'd call me back in 10 min. never did. I called back & they said he left & he would call me in the morning never happened, This went on & on & on. Finally we got to talk with the loan person & after a couple talks with him they said they would only pay half of it ! Got the leak fixed but liner still sags ! oh yea 3 of the 4 speakers didn't work either they said it was used what do you want . If you buy a used car from them go over it with a fine tooth comb ! I recently purchased a new used vehicle from Alphorn Ford in Monroe and have nothing but a sour taste left in my mouth. I went back in and discussed with multiple people there that i was unhappy with the purchase of my vehicle and they became very unfriendly towards myself and the people i was with. I asked about the budget buyback program and they did not help me at all. I am very upset with the service i received and the whole attitude they gave me when responding to how i was unhappy with my car. I just bought a used car from this dealership in which they gave me a fair deal. After that I had the most horrible customer service! I asked if they could get another key and fab given that they had only given me one and the manager started arguing with me about it and was very rude. He finally agreed to order a new fab and key for me. They also told me that they would clean the car up after I bought it because it was dirty. After I got it home, I found a ton of cat hair in the back seat! 5 days later I called about the key and fab and they told me they couldn't cut me a new one because they were a ford dealership. Well duh i knew that, that is why i asked them to ORDER me a new one. Needless to say, all i got after I paid for the car is very rude customer service from the manager, no key and fab, and a dirty car. read more

I went to this dealership with interest in looking at a vehicle. The sales representative asked me to fill out an application for a specific vehicle. As someone who uses very little credit I ask to be assured that my credit would only be ran once as I understand the implications of my information being 'shopped' around. I was promised that this would be the case. The sales rep came back with some numbers that didn't make sense. I asked him the interest rate and he said he didn't know, it was 'just the daily rate' I felt uncomfortable so I left. I did the math on my own and the interest rate was over 25%. My credit score was not great, but not terrible in the mid 600's. I later checked my credit report and was shocked to find my score had dropped well over 100 points all at once. I inquired and found out this dealership had trashed my credit in minutes by running a page full of hard inquiries. I can only speculate that they do this to unsuspecting customers with mid range scores to try to push their own ridiculous financing on them and trashing their credit so bad that they have no choice. I have contacted the dealership many times to rectify and the refuse to let me speak to anyone but Tony Rice who I found to be rude and offensive. I believe he condones or even runs this scam and that's why I am being ignored. I also contacted Fairway Ford in Freeport as well due to being under the same ownership group and received the same response. By walking into this dealership one time to look at one vehicle, my credit is trashed beyond repair for several years. Please think about this before you walk into this business! read more
