When my Nissan had some issues - Nissan Versa year 2016 - they were kind enough to respond very quickly on Yelp .. it is rare and they do respond even on weekends. Amazing and good. People who have work ethic, honesty, truth in today's world will always rise and above everyone by Gods grace read more

Scott is a great guy in the mechanic industry. I drive a 96 Ford F-150 that I bought in Ohio. Plenty of rust issues. He completely replaced my transmission coolant line that had rusted out. He's the only guy in town that could have done it. Nobody else wanted to even try. Thanks again Scott. I'll be back. read more

We had a wonderful experience with the guys at Alpha Transmission. After a truly terrible string of events ending in towing our 2001 Jeep Cherokee from Daytona to Charleston in the snow, Scott helped us unload our car from the hitch and started to work almost immediately. The pricing was fair and honest. They were not looking for things to fix that were not broken - and even gave us a suggestion on where to get a cheap part so we could fix something ourselves. We had to get our transmission rebuilt (not surprising as the previous owners had not taken great care) and it was done quickly and came with an excellent warranty. Being new to the area we are so relieved to find a mechanic we can trust. We would definitely recommend Alpha Transmission to anyone needing repair in the Charleston area. read more

Driving an older vehicle with high mileage, my old Buick had stopped dropping into passing gear upon acceleration, and would cut off at intersections... So I thought it was just hopeless. Went to Alpha early morning, and Scott carefully explained the 'worst case' and what that meant - a rebuild, and the upper range of the costs. Then Scott drove the Buick for a road test, and offered an alternative that it could be a sensor. Scott's intuition proved correct! Most surprisingly, he had the repair done to the accelerator position sensor completed while I waited! Home before lunch, and his repair solved the low idle speed I had noticed, and she runs like brand new. Courteous, professional service with a fair price, and so I recommend Alpha 100% !! read more

Our truck needed a new transmission. We called many and Alpha was the best quote - half as much as one other place we checked! And, it was done in two days instead of two weeks as others would have taken. The owner is friendly and professional and the price was fair. We could not be happier with their service. Thanks, Alpha Transmission! read more

I took my 528i BMW to them for a transmission fluid change and after completion I was told all was fine so I Start car and at takeoff it jerked from first gear through 4th gear immediately after driving off I drove the car back to shop Scoot drives it again with me in car and stated again that car was fine, that I was lucky that the transmission was performing at all. Fast forward took the car to another shop where a knowledgeable BMW mechanic listened to me and was extremely professional mechanic first of all stated mam no your bmw should not have a jerky transmission. He drove it came back to me with this the BMW's have to be re-set after a fluid change and that obviously Alpha Transmission did not do what they were suppost to now my car performs as a BMW should. i personally feel that I was not respected and treated like I was an idiot. I will never recommend this shop. read more

They switched out my transmission for a rebuilt one I provided..... Did it quick, for the price quoted. Very professional and arranged for core pickup. Good honest mechanics are hard to find.... Definitely a good experience read more

Had my tranny rebuilt there, but never would go into tow/haul mode. Reason? It was never going into O/D after the rebuild. 14 months later, it burnt up. Took it to another trans shop for another rebuild for $300 less with pretty much a "if you have any problems ever, get it in here no matter time or mileage!" Wasted $2,700 the first round...... read more

So Glad I came across Alpha Transmission. They gave the best quote out of 5 shops. The service was fast and my car drives better now than the day I drove it off the lot! Definitely going back and referring friends. read more

My car's transmission was on its last leg and the dealer wanted almost $3,000 to put a new-to-me used transmission in. I contacted Alpha Transmission via Yelp and heard back from them in short order. After a couple messages were exchanged, I had a quote for around $1,500 and agreed to bring my car in the next day. I dropped my car off and only a few days later it was ready and running perfectly! Mind you, the only reason it took a few days was because they had to order and wait for the transmission to arrive. I highly recommend these guys! They're professional, communicate well, and do good work at a reasonable price. read more

Scott and his staff are amazing! The price was fair and honest. He explained what he thought was wrong with my car, test drove it and checked it out, and realized there was a different problem. It ended up being a cheaper and quicker fix, and I got my car back in less than 2 business days. I can't believe how much better my car runs! Highly recommend! read more

After driving down to Charleston to visit my sister I had some unexpected issues with my truck. Since I'm not from around here finding a good trustworthy mechanic was something I was concerned about. I called around to about 5 different shops and checked in on reviews and pricing. Mr. Moody the owner of the shop gave me the best price right up front compared to all the other places and also made it work to fit me in immediately so that I wasn't stranded in Charleston any longer then a few hours. Very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable which are all qualities that i was looking for. He did the repairs in a timely matter with brand new OEM parts, and best of all he stands behind his work. I would highly recommend them for any transmissions issues you may be having. Good guys they will take care of you. read more

Alpha Transmission should be your first stop for vehicle transmission repairs. Customer friendly! Knowledgeable! Fast and dependable!

There is no worse feeling than being 500 mi from home on vacation and have your transmission fail. I checked around and settled on Alpha Transmission and I am glad I did. They knew my travel time line and prioritized my job so I could enjoy my vacation. Work was good and at a fair price. Had one little issue and they did not hesitate to do what was needed even though I was home by then. Nice guys who did what they said they would. read more

Called to get estimate and a drop transmission and pick up time. The quote for price was a couple hundred over, not bad. Was told if i drop off tues , they would get prices to me wed and if parts could get in they would have by Friday. When I dropped off tues they told me it would be ready next weds... this should have been a red flag but i was like I can reschedule work around it. I get a text that weds asking for my bin so they can order parts, then I'm told if i dont overnight it will be the following tues. I pay to overnight and get my transmission on Fri. Go to put it in and I'm missing the transmission bracket. I call and text and finally get a text next morning saying he would look and was I sure I had it on there. I assured him it was on there and went to shop to look. They had the attitude that whoever took out transmission did it. I took it out and left on there because there was no need for me to over work. Long story short I would buy a bus pass before I took my transmission there... good luck read more

I called in to see if I could bring my car in to get my radio checked out. My car had recently died and after jumping my car, my radio was dead. Such great customer service. I was directed to call the next day after I got off work, as it was already close to their closing time, and they would see if they could squeeze me in before closing. The next day they had no problem letting me bring my car in. It literally took 10 minutes for my car radio to get looked at and to have my radio fuse replaced. It was so great to work with such nice people and them taking great car of you! read more
