We used to go to the amazing Cedar Park location for servicing, but have moved in the area in the past year and it is more convenient here. I was at the location for over 3hours waiting for just an oil change and inspection per my service matience package scheduled for 1:30pm. A routine task that takes 15-30 minutes. After over an hour and half I asked if they had an update because I waiting patiently for a long time for a quick service for them to tell me all day they have been down a bay and behind. Why would you not tell me when I checked in or really any point while I'm waiting? They tell me I'm still in line and they haven't even seen/started my car yet! They go to check with the mechanics and they come back and say 40 More minutes after I have been stranded at the dealership for 2 hours at this point already. They say they can pull my car and I can reschedule. How does that help me? I'm out of all of this time for work unexpectedly already and then have to come back another day and hope it goes faster when I have had long wait times both times. There wasn't that many customers and tons of inside sales employees sitting around talking. The last time I waited for a long time too for the same service and they tried to get me to agree to add services on while I was waiting instead of just doing what I scheduled. At this point it will be better for my time and sanity to just drive back to Cedar Park for service rather than deal with Lost Pines Toyota.

I brought my…read more4Runner to them for preventative timing belt replacement as it was coming up on 100k since the last time I replaced it. I was prepared to let the dealer do it, but wanted to support a local family-owned business I had good experiences with previously. I have recommended Blue Mule Garage exclusively for auto repairs over the last 2 years to neighbors, family members, coworkers, and people on Nextdoor looking for an honest and competent repair shop. Regrettably, I cannot in good conscience continue to do so following my recent experiences. These experiences include going to pick up vehicles after being told they're ready to go only to find the contrary. One instance, the hood was not closed and would not close because the hood latch had been removed but not reinstalled properly. The most recent incident included bolts not checked and retorqued as separately requested multiple times, and bolts completely missing, lost, or not reinstalled properly when brought back repeatedly for concerns of loose sounds in the front end. Every time a concern was brought up or pointed out, I agreed to their recommendation for a path to resolve. The last time the vehicle was initially brought to them for a quoted $1200 timing belt repair. That lead to an oil pump replacement at an additional $1300 because of a stripped bolt inside the engine they found and said was not their fault. When I went to pick up the "ready to go" vehicle, I pulled out of the parking lot and immediately had the dash light up like a Christmas tree and the vehicle would not accelerate past 30 mph. I turned around and left it with them to resolve again. The next time I picked it up, the exhaust fell off the next day, and something else sounded loose in the front. At a quick glance, I noticed the majority of the bolts for the skid plates were missing and assumed that's what it was. I fixed the exhaust myself to get to work. Jimmy at Blue Mule admitted to and apologized for not putting all the bolts back on the skid plate because "different techs here worked on it, and we don't know where everything went." They say they never touched the exhaust. In any case, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and the opportunity to fix the issues. I mentioned the concern I had of something sounding loose in the front end (popping noises) and asked for them to thoroughly inspect and retorque front end bolts again. After another inspection, I was given another estimate over $1k including sway bar bushings, cv axle, and inner tie rods. Since I was told that the steering rack was removed as part of the previous timing belt / oil pump service, I questioned why none of this additional stuff was mentioned before. Jimmy told me they removed the steering rack and either didn't notice any issues with those items or didn't touch them. Whatever the reason, it wasn't their fault. I initially decided to give them the benefit of the doubt again and approved the services, fully expecting to pick up a car free of the issues, which brought the car back to them. However, when I went to pick up the vehicle several days after being told it was ready, standing at the counter to pay, I semi-jokingly asked if all of the popping noises were gone. The responses included: "I heard the popping as the car was being pulled off the lift to go to the alignment shop, but it's hard to tell where exactly sitting in the car" and "the guy at the alignment shop thinks it's the upper ball joints, and I concur." "All of your aftermarket suspension wears out faster and is causing problems." But, somehow, the car was ready to go? I paid my bill and left with the car. The next day, the car started to overheat. Replacing a visibly leaking coolant hose on top of the engine resolved that issue, and retorquing the alignment eccentric bolts eliminated the suspension noise. There were still missing bolts for the skid plate. Finally, my neighbor recently had them work on his truck, and his bumper came undone on the highway. I did lose my temper and eventually apologized in writing for my choice of tone and words. They've informed me that I'm no longer welcome as a customer. Le sigh sad panda.

It went in for transmission work, every time we called to check in there was a different excuse as to why it wasn't fixed. When I finally got involved two months ago the owner Robert kept giving me the run around, "health" problems, labor issues, etc. while I understand life happens never in my life have I seen a company do such terrible business. Last week my husband and I went to the shop and my brothers truck was blocked in a field by several other vehicles. Tuesday we went to get the truck after telling Robert to have it ready. Robert had the truck in a bay and blocked in by other vehicles; so we couldn't tow it if we wanted to. Robert asked for one more day. We told him one day. Today he called me this morning saying a part was broken. I told him to either fix it or have it in the driveway for a tow truck today. We literally picked it up and drove it to another shop. The truck drove worse than when we originally took it into A Plus Automative. There's no telling what this new shop will find. To make matters worse as we left and I followed my husband in my personal vehicle, an employee from A Plus started following us. Very creepy. STAY AWAY! After finding this mechanic and reading the reviews, I called him on a Monday morning and he was able to get the car in for a diagnostic that day. I (a 19 year old female) took the car into the shop by myself while my girlfriend was at work. As a woman, it's quite common to have mechanics look and speak to you like you have no clue what you're talking about, and most times try to oversell and/or mislead you in the wrong direction. That was not the case with this shop. I went in and spoke extensively with zach -explaining all the parts that had been replaced, how the issue arose, what steps we had already taken, and I tried my best to relay all the information I knew and was given by my girlfriend (who worked on the jeep herself). Jack spoke to me like an actual human being-not a "dumb girl"-and answered all the questions and comments I had. He also maintained eye contact with me throughout our entire conversation, only typing on the computer when I'd finished speaking. What a green flag!! When discussing what we thought was the next step, he gave me an estimate of what he thought the cost would be. He then said "I'm sure if your girlfriend can do XYZ to her jeep, she can do some of the things we might suggest. I will quote you our pricing but just know that it might be cheaper to do it herself if she has the time"-another GREEN FLAG!! They wound up calling us 4 hours later with a quote-the exact quote he'd given me the day before. They wound up replacing the part and the code cleared. However, Zach called us that night and said that while test driving, another code popped up. It only popped once and he could not get it to come again, but he said "I'd like to keep the car another night and test drive it in the morning because I would hate for you to drive off the lot and get a different code." Again-such a trustworthy mechanic is SO SO hard to find. He easily could've handed her the keys after the first code cleared and sent her along. Sure enough, the new code came up again that morning. He called and said he had the part that needed to be replaced, and it was finished that day for almost half the price of what every other jeep mechanic had quoted her. I would recommend this mechanic to anyone, especially jeep owners. They are kind, professional, quick, and will not try to scam you. If you reach someone on the phone they will make an excuse, say they will call you back and then you will never hear from them.
