I've been a loyal customer of Alpha Nail Spa for many years, but the service has declined so much that I can no longer recommend this salon. The prices are now far higher than other salons in the area, yet the quality and customer service have gotten worse. I've had two scheduled appointments where I still waited so long that I had to leave. On another visit, the technician I was booked with took a different customer and told me to "wait a little while," which turned into more than an hour. My most recent fill was poorly done where a chunk of the filler broke off, and they admitted it wasn't applied strongly enough, yet still charged me again to fix it. They didn't file my nails, and the polish has been peeling quickly after each visit. When I asked for a simple polish refresh (not gel), they quoted me $30, even though other salons charge around $12 and I brought my own polish. After years of loyalty, I'm moving to TN Nails instead. Save your money because the service at Alpha Nail Spa is no longer worth the price. read more

Very discussed with this establishment. I was assaulted today by a nail technician at this Harden street location. He tried to break my fingers because he made a mistake. I was in disbelief my nerves were in my stomach and I began shaking. I let him know I am pregnant and I would press charges and have him arrested today. He didn't care. He tried to do it again while his manager stood there and didn't say anything. I would advise taking your business elsewhere if you don't want to be abused. read more

Embarrassed as the employees talk about you to where everyone who speaks their language looks at you. I had a 215 appointment but I guess they are not supposed to make appointments as I was seen at 330 by her. Then asked if I can come back Monday for my design. This is Friday why wait until Monday. Then when I said something at check out the " manager " Paul" walked away. I paid 212 for my toes and nails after that. More than I ever paid. This was the last time I go there. I appreciated that Alpha Nail was able to give me a last minute appointment, but I won't be returning for several reasons: 1. My gel manicures usually last for about 3 weeks. It's why I pay $50+ for this service. After about 8 days the gel manicure from Alpha Nail started to look rough. The young guy who did it gave me the wrong color and pretended to not understand when I told him he was not using the color I requested. After less than 2 weeks, I'm removing the polish because it looks terrible (see photo). 2. At the end of the manicure the guy (Moono?) began pulling and flipping my finger tips. I have osteoarthritis in my fingers, and later that evening there was a red, painful nodule on my finger that was not there earlier. Im not sure a manicurist should be pulling and tugging on the delicate bones and tissues in hands - unless he's qualified and the salon will take responsibility for injuries. 3. My pedicure is holding up but I had to INSIST that I wanted regular polish - NOT gel polish which is a waste of money for a pedicure. read more

Love this place! It is now my go to nail spot. So very happy a friend of mine recommended them to me. I greatly appreciate the quality of service and great nail work. The interior is clean and modern! There are a lot of stations to fit many people who want to get their nails done. Make sure to make an appointment I highly recommend it. They do get very busy & so be prepared! I do a lot of chrome powder here & skinny French tips. Thanks to the staff here for being so great and kind. I'm honestly disappointed with this nail shop. Time after time for the past 2 years and the little things that I used to look over and just accept, I can't no longer accept, especially with these high prices . I got my powder nails, no acrylic soaked off and the guy who usually is busy running around doing nails, answering phone calls and checking people in , decided to carelessly drill the wet part of my soaked nails .the issue isn't the drilling , it's drilling so fast and careless and rushing through my nails , so he ended up drilling my skin , which HURT so much and this isn't the first time . Then as I'm getting my ombré nails done , I asked kindly to have under my nails cleaned as the powder is still wet . I usually ask this because it's easier getting the gunk of the nail powder from under your nail off while it's wet vs trying to drill the hardened powder from under the nail when it's dry . I suggested this to my nail tech and he just continued . After drying, I pointed out the harden mess from under my nails and he decided to drill it , in which I got hurt yet again . I'm not understanding what's hard about using the wet acetone brush to clean under the nail before it hardens . I'm highly disappointed and won't be back . To get my nails soaked off , get powder nails without the acrylic was $60. Smh . Please find you nail techs that actually take their time and care about your nails . Also how can you pay so much and leave that nail shop , with powder residue all over your hands . They don't even take the time to clean your hands properly with the acetone . If I go home and do it myself , I risk eating the layer of my polish off . I'm so upset. read more

They do the absolute most basic job when it comes to pedicures. They don't even use the cuticle stuff to get my cuticles off. Also they do a terrible job of scrubbing your feet. Like i shouldn't have to do work on my own feet when I'm paying y'all to do it. Then they ask me literally 4 TIMES do I want my nails done when I said no the first time. I don't trust y'all doing my feet so why would I trust y'all to do my nails. This exactly why the blacks girl going to keep taking your business. It's a nice setting to sit in but they do the bare minimum when it comes to a pedicure. You're basically paying for a massage because they will spend 15-30 minutes just doing that itself. read more

I visited this nail salon on Thursday for a full set of dipped nails. It only took the guy, Francis, 30 minutes to do my nails. He was so hurried, that he kept hurting me. I commented that he should slow down and be less rough but he didn't understand. By Saturday, three of my nails had broken! I visited Alpha Nail on a weekday in the morning and experienced no wait. I did not have an appointment. The inside of the salon is beautiful. It was nicely decorated and clean. I was looking for a pedicure and was greeted quickly and taken back to a chair. The pedicure chairs were just like any other nail salon. They offered massage features and checked to make sure that the temperature of the water was right frequently. They offered me complimentary drinks. I had my nails done by Tim who did a good job. I did notice while he was filing some discomfort but didn't say anything, so that's on me. I noticed after the pedicure that I had actually been cut by the file. The massage that Tim gave during the pedicure was phenomenal. I went with the deluxe package that included a hot stone massage. It was really good and I would definitely come back. My only issues with the pedicure were the cut on my toe and that I noticed the polish bubbled a little bit after leaving. It's only noticeable up close so I'm not too upset about it, I just wish it hadn't. I don't get pedicures often. The last one was months ago but I'm looking forward to coming back to Alpha Nail Harbison in the future and would definitely return. read more

When i explained I asked for regular polish, she looked at my hands in disgust and said "regular?". She called someone over and tried to convince me to get gel AGAIN. I then had to explain I can't afford a gel manicure and they finally continued with the service. after that she talked to me like a child and did a decent job of painting my nails. when my service was done, I paid and left a %15 tip (which I regret). I was waiting for my friends to finish, she was getting a more expensive service than me and treated her a lot nicer. one of my worst experiences at a nail salon. read more

I do not and repeat do not recommend this nail salon. They like others only care about big ticket customers and getting you out the chair as fast as possible if you aren't spending enough money. I asked for a toe polish change and received crooked nails and clumpy polish. I pointed out to the tech that my big toe nail on my right foot was crooked from the way he clipped it too low and filed it dang near to a nub. He looked at me like I had three heads and said what do you want me to do about it. My response was I want my toenails straight . After it was all said and done as you can see from the pics I could of done better with a blind fold and my hands tied behind my back. I wrote them off last summer beyond a rude and very disrespectful tech who wanted to yell at me my nails were square when they were perfectly round . I've been to this place 4 times and honestly 1/4 visits is all I can say was somewhat pleasant. 3/4 visits for me was disgusting on how their customer service is. First of all the amount of men they have doing nails is ridiculous. They just don't understand how to provide the correct vibe for customer service for women. Clearly it's a family but they even have the young 22 year old boys working and doing your nails with very little experience. So basically they have males that are JUST LEARNING do your nails. Many of them are rude, the only nice make that is consistent his name is KEVIN. Everyone else, they rush to do your nails because they are trying to get the next person who walked in after you. They never do the nails like how you asked. And get mad when you correct them smh. You literally feel like a number. 90% of the customers are African American and they really DO NOT UNDERSTAND AND DO NOT RESPECT OUR CULTURE!! The place was beautiful and they offered lots of services including complementary drinks, but the owner was pushy and rude. He asked me what I wanted and then spoke in another language to his employee and then they laughed. This happened twice Ensuring that I knew it wasn't accidental or a coincidence. Then he pressured me to get a higher priced service by asking repeatedly. He looked at my nails and decided another girl should do them that was already working on someone else's nails. She had to stop what she was doing to come help me. She looked defeated and exhausted and the vibe in the shop from the employees was not good. They all looked like they hated life. I will not be back. I don't like being laughed at or questioned about the service I choose. It looks like such a high class place when you come in. . . Pity they treat you like 2nd class citizens.
