I had been in contact with Professional Movers as soon as I knew I was moving, and they were somehow able to magically accommodate my schedule change. Each and every team member, from the email inquiries to phone calls to project manager to movers, treated me with the utmost respect, and a cool-and-collected sense of urgency. Moving Day was of course laden with torrential rain from dawn 'til dusk, but that didn't hinder the team of movers in the least. My old home (as in, "built in the 1920's") was somewhat of a logistical nightmare due to outdated ergonomics, tight turns and treacherously steep stairwells, but the team came in undaunted and figured out the move, item by item. They had every right to be frustrated/peeved by the totality of the situation, but nobody displayed anything but positivity, confidence and "get-sh*t-doneness." The crew was super fast and efficient, and nothing but friendly and conversational the entire time. They took great care to protect my home and belongings from bumps, dings, foot traffic and elements. The day was long and exhausting for everybody involved, but the team remained pros throughout and made sure everything was placed exactly where I wanted it in my new home. I'm so happy that my stuff got moved, but even happier by the level of service provided by the entire Professional Movers staff. Moving is always stressful. We did originally have a queen bed and mattress that was supposed to be moved, but we did not need that so we took care of that ourselves. My husband and I moved the rest. We set up everything in one area for them to pick up and move easily. Honestly, my husband suggested we cancel the move because we could've done it ourselves. I refused, as the price was reasonable at the time. However, that good price turned into $200 more than quoted for the time and amount of things we had. The company quoted 2 movers not 3 that they sent. My mom is 83 years old and on a fixed income. I'm deeply disappointed in this company and won't recommend them to anyone. My mom has five other friends moving from her senior living facility. I initially referred them because they were so kind and gracious to my mom the day before she was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. My husband had to take the day off (which he didn't need to since they were two hours late) because I was at the hospital with my mother. I honestly wasn't sure if we would move her at all. I informed my mom's new residence about the incident and suggested they remove the pamphlet from the folders they distribute to new residents. This is simply unacceptable. I then got another call stating between 9 & 10, they didn't arrive until a quarter to 11. Timing isn't the best. I had about 1BD worth of things. I had already taken things myself and had other things put in storage. I was quoted 6 hrs with a truck fee of 150. I was verbally told I wouldn't be charged for 2 hours but that conversation seemed to had been forgotten the day of moving. They state they accept cards and cash but somehow I wasn't informed the card machine was down until AFTER all my items were loaded onto the truck. I highly believe that should have been communicated BEFORE starting or a day earlier. Of course if you're a woman, you are gonna deal with flirtation which let's be honest is super annoying in any setting let alone one your paying for. A handle on my tv stand was snatched off by the older gentleman working (there were 3 guys). He says it was lose but looking at the holes in the door, that definitely was not the case. I was told to buy wood glue to repair it. Crazy, Ikr My pieces to my couch were put back together. They didn't have to disassemble anything prior because I had a friend there to assist with that. Then assembling things upon arrival we're not requested but them doing it on their own was cool with me. It wasn't completely done right but the major connecting as completed Upon completion, I was told a price a lot higher than I was quoted. I saw other reviews stating the same thing previously but didn't think I would be taken advantage of in this manner as well. Be mindful they do not own a truck. So, I'm wondering if it would have been better for me to hire them for labor instead of paying $150 for the truck along with 960 quote and 70 per HALF HOUR after 6 hours. The quote was for 6 hours. I made it clear how long it would take to get to the destination and back. Hence why he said he would charge me for 2 working hours. After everything I paid over $1500 which is the same price as other competitors! I wasn't offer a military discount AT ALL, and I had to fuss about my cabinet being broken to get a little $50 off. I would say be mindful if you're going to hire them and be prepared to pay a lot more than your initially quoted. You may wanna stick with the other quotes you've gotten.

I was provided with an "estimated hours time" to complete my move . . . everything in the house was packed and ready to load. Three men showed up late. One young guy was on his phone every time I walked outside to check progress on loading. A completely rude man kept asking to use my bathroom and then informed me I was out of toilet paper and did I have more. Needless to say I had a clogged toilet. The man wanted to stay (alone) in my empty house while I went to the bank to get money. What kind of legitimate business demands payment in cash?! But the real reason I am writing this review is because most of what I loaded into the truck went into storage for a year. I just moved again and was able to unpack my things......crushed storage boxes, soo many broken items I can't even count, damaged furniture AND my very expensive commercial sized treadmill is broken. The day of the move I watched the bathroom idiot try to pick up the console by himself and as I was beginning to say, "don't....." - he dropped it upside down on my concrete drive. I was hopeful that since it was wrapped in foam and moving blankets it would be safe - but I should have known better. Despite the 95 degree heat these guys showed up on time. They walked the job first to see what they had to move which in our case was about 40 boxes and bags and about 15 pieces of furniture. They then proceeded to put down runners and shrink wrap the furniture items followed by picking up the heavy boxes and loading their truck. The total job only took them a total of 5.75 hours which included the 2.5 hour round trip drive. The final price was very reasonable since they charge by the hour. Again, this was in exhausting unbearable heat. They even moved a recliner from our first floor to the lower level at our request. These young guys were congenial and very helpful. We would definitely use them again if necessary. They are top notch. We highly recommend them if you have a move in your future.

This was a move of approximately 38 miles from Brighton to Okemos. Before loading even began, I expressed concern that the truck appeared too small for the contents of my home. After a walkthrough, I was assured it was the correct size. The move ultimately expanded to additional trucks, additional labor, additional days, storage, and charges that far exceeded the estimate I had been given. What followed was even more difficult. Large portions of my belongings were not placed into the appropriate rooms of the house. Instead, my garage was packed floor-to-ceiling so densely with boxes and furniture that I could not physically access many of my essential belongings, including clothing, toiletries, medications, office supplies, kitchen items, and even some perishable goods. I have photographs documenting these conditions. Living alone and with physical limitations, I was forced to hire additional help simply to move boxes and furniture so I could regain access to my belongings. As I gradually unpacked over the following weeks, I continued discovering additional damaged property, misplaced items, missing items, and repair needs that could not reasonably have been identified on moving day. The financial impact has extended well beyond the moving bill itself. I have incurred additional expenses for labor, furniture relocation, repairs, and correcting problems left behind after the move. The time spent recovering from this move has also delayed my ability to return to work and restore my home to a functional condition. Despite having already paid thousands of dollars for the move, I have continued to receive collection demands and threats of litigation over the remaining disputed balance while I am still documenting property damage, missing items, repair costs, and other losses. Rather than working toward a practical resolution, the dispute has continued to escalate. This matter remains disputed, and I am documenting my damages and evaluating my legal claims. My advice to anyone considering this company: * Read every contract carefully. * Clarify in writing how additional trucks, labor, storage, and extra days will be billed. * Photograph everything before, during, and after the move. * Keep copies of every email, text, invoice, and estimate. * Continue documenting damages as you unpack because not everything is discoverable on moving day. Our mover started complaining half way thru the job, mostly that I hadn't packed well. While him and his buddy were moving slowly, my boyfriend and I were hustling back and fourth from the house to the truck. When I hired this guy, I didn't think I would be doing half the work myself. Dave also left for about 20 minutes during the job to get lunch and when I asked him where he went he smirked and told me he went to Burger King. It was unprofessional in my opinion and I didn't need to hear him complaining while I was paying him. I spoke to Clarence who identified himself not as the owner but as the manager (more on that…read morelater). The initial Red Flag was during the conversation I mentioned the need for certain documentation from him to go forward (Basically licensing information, and Insurance Information) as asking for a Certificate of Insurance (COI) is INDUSTRY STANDARD for a move like this. I received IMMEDIATE Push Back and was told that I didnt need said information and that I could get his licensing and bonding information from LARA (Michigan Licensing And Regulatory Affaris) which I did: [Federal License: They hold a valid federal license under USDOT #2303845] and their other license [They are registered as a domestic profit corporation in Michigan (ID: 800705051)] What i couldn't get is Bonding and or the COI ...which i need to protect ny inventory and myself from damage, and or loss. As I said this is Industry standard. I explained this to Clarence and was told that I would recieve that information at a later time after further discussions. Fast forward I talked to Clarence yesterday to confirm that he would recieve an inventory list by no later than close of Business today 5/8/2026 !! He's assured me at the time of our last phone call that that was suitable. We stayed late into the evening yesterday creating an itemized inventory list for Clarence.....only to be told today that he couldn't do it because he has another big move scheduled for "The Government" i dont know how true this is but I find it highly suspicious that 1) he did t call this morning to let us know that he couldn't complete the move which most assuredly could be the case......but in the name of professionalism and the time we have spent on the phone wouldn't it be standard to let us know? Secondly in MY OPINION I think he didnt like the verbiage that was used in the inventory email j. That it specifically asked again for the COI, and ending information as is STANDARD in this business. in our first conversation he told me that he had never been asked for that type of information before and I explained to him at that point, that when doing business with multi million dollar businesses you have to do everything right, he then went kn to tell me how many rich people from the lions and mentioned doing a move for the Taubman estate etc....which is fine but asking for a COI is standard......I feel as if Clarence is operating without being Bonded or without the proper insurance to protect not only the belongings of my company but of anybody he is moving. Again this is my opinion based off of my conversations with him and his subversive responses. He may very well have these very important documents and insurance im not saying that he doesn't what I am saying is that people need to be careful. He has cause me to lose valuable time. I did however call another moving company who gave me without question the documents that I asked for and I am looking forward to this move albeit at a higher price than expected.
