I would like to preface this review by stating I am a young homeowner who works very hard for her money and to be able to invest in nice things. When paying for top quality, I expect top quality in terms of materials and in customer service, unfortunately, neither of which I received at Alpha Granite. I chose an expensive quartzite stone, and I was really excited about it. After spending two years renovating the first floor of my home these countertops were to be the icing on the cake. I paid just shy of $8,000 on these once beautiful countertops. Fast forward to installation day. The guys who did the install were very kind and meticulous. No complaints with the stone placement and install. I did ask them if there was anything I needed to know about caring for the stone. They assured me it was durable quartz and to just avoid placing hot items directly onto the surface. In the following weeks, almost immediately the stains started appearing. "Water rings" from anything containing oil. When I emailed asking for advice I was told they would try to help but that I should have done my "due diligence" as a customer. I found this to be insulting as I have cared for these surfaces, constantly wiping them down and making sure they look pristine. I felt like I was being blamed. Various oil is commonly used in the kitchen, and within a month there were 5 patches of SERIOUS stains. I tried to remove them with baking soda, putty, and nothing. They are there for good. I emailed alpha again and they offered me a "sealer" which costs $600 and that they would "look to see what could be done" about the stains. I was upset because at $8000, one would think the countertops would be protected from staining, especially since I asked if I needed to do anything specific for the quartz. I responded and said yes let's do that (the $600 sealer)... I was willing to do anything, even pay more to make this not keep happening. I was upset because I was never told about this sealing service before, I asked to speak to the business owner and he did return my call. He said he would "try to help" but he would have to order a special stain remover and he would call me back when it arrived. That was the last I heard from Alpha Granite. Never got a call back, follow up email, or even an apology. I have waited 8 months to see if they would ever get back to me and nothing. I have never written a negative review in my life but I am so disappointed as I feel like my $8,000 investment into the value of my home has been ruined beyond repair. I am just truly sad and would never wish this on anyone. If you are looking for countertops I would suggest you look elsewhere so this doesn't happen to you :( read more

Alpha was fairly great from start to finish. The only issues I had were the times they were to show up. For the measurement, the guy was about an hour and a half late, I had to call him on a Saturday morning and basically remind him to come over. For the installation itself, the guys were EARLY and complained to my wife that they had been waiting while she was in traffic coming home from work. That's why we set a time in advance, sillies. Other than that, it was a really great experience at what I considered a decent price point. $27 a square foot installed was the special they were running on some certain slabs (with a minimum of 40 sq ft). It's not like they were ugly ones that they just wanted to get rid of, we are enamored by the beautiful colors that come out of the slab we picked out. Now, that price didn't include a few things which at first I was a bit miffed at but after awhile, it made sense. Most people want to replace their sink, another $250. The cutout for it costs $200 and demo/removal costs another $200 unless you want to save on that and do it yourself. It all adds up so keep that in mind. All in all though, I ended up with granite counters in my galley kitchen for less than $2k, even after all of those pricing add-ons, which is going to significantly increase the resale value in a few years while we enjoy them in the interim. Don't forget to check-in at the store for another $50 off from Yelp! Everyone I dealt with at the store itself after going back numerous times for all that we wanted to pick out, get the quotes and pay the bill were really nice. The English of the installers wasn't the best but it's not like we had to deal with them for more than an hour while they were there. Pro tip - get your own plumber in advance for the unhooking and hooking back up of the faucets, they are likely cheaper than those offered by Alpha. read more

We were excited to see what Alpha Granite had to offer due to the outstanding reviews. Even a close friend pointed me in the direction to visit their store. I made an appointment for a Saturday at noon and had the email confirmation confirming they would be there. Upon arrival, we waited for 30 minutes (with another couple who had an appointment) and no one showed up. The store was closed due to a holiday weekend and I did not receive a cancellation or a request to reschedule our confirmed appointment. This has left a bad taste in my mouth and we will not be going back to make our purchase. We are now looking for another highly recommended granite store. read more

I hired Alpha Granite to replace my countertop and full backsplash. I did not know that Alpha Granite outsource the removal and installation to a third party company. When they came last week to remove and replace the countertop the guy was upset because he said that Alpha Granite did not disclose to him that the kitchen was on the second floor nor did they tell him that he had to remove the current countertop. He also mentioned that he was short staff. Needless to say he was in a bad mood. They replaced one side of the countertop with the quarts that I purchased. At this point it looked pretty good so I left them in my home to pick up by kids from school. When I returned I could hear them banging and removing the backsplash. When I got in the house I saw that all the debris, hammers, crowbar and every tool that they were using to remove the tiles from the backsplash is on top of the brand NEW quarts countertop. They are ripping off the backsplash and the old tiles are falling ontop of the NEW countertops. Zero protection other than the very thin clear plastic that was on the countertop. When I spoke to them he said that he will pay for any damages done to the countertop if his method engendered any damages. I pleaded with them to put some type of protection on it. I was painting the upstairs so the painter gave them drop cloth. Before they could put the drop cloth on it I noticed that it was damaged. When he realized that it's damaged he told me that it came like that. I might have believed him if I did not witness them dropping hammers, crowbars and the debris from the backsplash on top of it. I stepped away and went in my bedroom to calm down because this was very upsetting to me. When I return to the kitchen I witnessed him BUFFING OUT the crack that he created. You do not buff brand new quarts countertop. When I called the company they pretend that their method is a best of breed practice. I'm sorry but it seems to me that the first order of business was to remove both the old countertop and backsplash before putting on the new countertop. I'm STILL waiting on Alpha Granite to say that they will at least remove and replace the damaged countertop. There is a chip on my countertop that is one inch in length, there are cracks on the edge and the surface from where the debris and tools were. I would never in a million years hire them again. So, I am going to try and give a balanced view of our experience, to the best I can. First, they were very responsive and helpful at the beginning of the process. We got a very reasonable price quote for our job and a short time frame for installation. And, in the end, the installation came out beautifully and the work looks excellent. Thanks for that. However, they were supposed to show up for the install on a Friday. Plumbing was disconnected the day prior, per their instructions. I took the day off from work, it being my final day for the year. By 9-9:30 AM they had not shown up, so we called. Were told they were on the way and would be there by 11 AM. By 11:30 we called again, and they said they'd call back. They called back and said they were doing a job so far away they couldn't make it to our house. What happened to they'd be there by 11? "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" is all we heard, with some minor financial concession made. Sitting around all day, waiting for a a contractor, to hear they will not show up. I was livid. They told us we would be the first job on Saturday. A small conciliation, I thought, as 1/2 of my Saturday before Christmas is wasted. Same drill, 9:30, 10, 10:30 passes so we call. The installer calls us back and says he got a phone call from the office and were told we were the last job of the day, not the first. They show up at 5 PM and install it, while we have guests in our living room and are unable to use the kitchen (prearranged Christmas gathering- the install was supposed to be Friday morning!!!!). To say I was angry is an understatement. The only way I can reason this is they were "getting even" with us for complaining about the lack of installation of Friday, as promised- otherwise their scheduling is completely and utterly incompetent. Kept my cool the so they would not further exact their revenge by sabotaging, or further delaying, the work, which I would not put out of the realm of possibility with this company. Had to reschedule the plumber, due to the delay, which cost us another day (wasn't available the day after the original appt). We paid good money to a company that was unprepared an unprofessional in their conduct. While the workmanship was fine and everything looks good, there are better companies out there that do the same job- pay the money. Find another one and stay away from Alpha Granite. read more

Recently had new granite counter tops installed by Alfa and I am very disappointed in the quality of this job. They came out two days in a row to measure for the counter tops, actually bringing a template back the 2nd day to check it. I thought we would have been good to go, but during installation a few weeks later nothing matched up and the various pieces did not seam together properly. This caused the installers to have to do a lot of field adjusting/ cutting and the resulting job did not turn out correct at all. What was supposed to be an 11 inch over hang on our peninsula turned out to be less than 10 and the extra inch ended up on the other side of the peninsula which caused a full 2 1/2 inch overhang over the cabinet doors. I am a big guy and losing that extra inch on the dining side of the cabinet is a big deal, now I hit my legs against the cabinet side. In addition, the stone did not even fully cover the cabinet next to the stove due to how they had to resolve the measurement problem. When I complained and requested they fix or compensate for the mistake, Osman simply said it looks good and they would not make any consideration for this. So the moral of the story is that Alfa had a competitive bid for this project, and I guess the old adage holds true - you get what you pay for and on this one I would do it differently if I had the chance, especially since they would not even consider to help make the customer happy. Alpha Granite replaced the old Formica tops on our vanities with granite. Everything went great, our new countertops look outstanding! We worked with Fabio, the owner, to obtain estimate and then to select stone. The turn time to manufacture the counters + install was probably a few weeks. The installers came as planned (yesterday), the counter tops were installed without any issues and they look amazing!...Perfect job! Also, when finished, the installers cleaned up - sweeping and vacuuming. I offered to deal with it but they insisted on leaving the house as they found it. I would also note, their price was very competitive. I would not hesitate to hire this company to do this type of work, their large amount of positive ratings speaks for itself. The whole experience at Alpha Granite was great. Because we had a smaller area, they said we could get away with doing remnants. We went to their fabrication location in Acton and got to pick out the remnant we wanted. Fabio explained the whole process to us and helped us choose between some options. We were glad they also sold sinks, which made it a whole lot easier. Maressa touched with us along the way to schedule the measurement visit and the installation. They showed up when they were supposed to and everything was done to perfection. They even were able to move up the installation because they had a cancellation and knew we wanted it done ASAP. So who here enjoys spending tons of time looking at stone slabs in warehouses? Then, after you find the piece you like, you have to work with fabricators and installers. You hope they have the ability to tastefully execute and make aesthetically pleasing what all your hard work has delivered. Just had some new granite countertops installed today. High recommendations, from our initial visit, to the installation. Best prices around by far! They have decent selections starting at $27.99. We were very concerned when we found out we were going to have a seam, but they suggested to place it at the sink area. It is barely noticeable! We also got the sink from them at a real fair price. Disappointing! At first they are accommodating with setting times for templating, installing etc. which was appreciated. However, I was overcharged by more than $400.00 after I was assured several times there would be no additional costs. In addition, hundreds of dollars worth of damage was done to my property when installing. Two concrete steps were damaged, my newly installed lawn was run over and of course, damage around the installation area, which was to be expected. Overall, this is not a Grade A company, but grade B...So if you like grade B quality, this place is for you. read more
