Then add the benefits of the owners having real involvement in day-to-day activities and knowing the pets and owners alike is amazing. They have a real care for what they do and how they do it. The daycare areas are terrific for play indoors or out. Our pup had extreme separation anxiety any time we left the house for even brief periods of time. His days at The Barking Spot have allowed him time to socialize with other dogs and it provided a tremendous improvement on his disposition. We have used The Barking Spot for light grooming and boarding over a long weekend or two as well. They have excelled in every aspect. A recent visit our pup played a bit over zealous and was favoring a leg. They immediately called to make us aware, even though they didn't believe it to be anything too serious. When we arrived for pickup he was doing just fine - false alarm. But they cared enough to let us know. The process of signing up and making reservations is primarily done online via their website. This was a big change for us from the previous ownership, but it provides a clean, manageable way for them to operate their business and for us to get necessary updates - which makes it a big positive for all. Give this place a try a few times and see if your pet won't beg to go back like ours does each week, nearly fighting to get out the door and hop in the car. Our pup doesn't mind the vet at all, but when he goes he only whines as he realizes he's on a ride to somewhere other than The Barking Spot.

I get HOURS OF MY LIFE BACK PER WEEK + my dog wants to come to me when called since I'm not tanking on his mats all the time. Hind site, standard poodles are a LOT of work - noted - but I went thru a 2 month solid period of bad advice, bad brushes, so much time wasted and the heartache of watching the mats grow and your dog uncomfortable- the all th YANKING on the mats that won't come all the way out. I don't know how, but Alyssa got all the mats out, my dog is super soft and now I only have to brush him 10 minutes a day. We did add $135 per month expense for having a groomer come to our home but the alternative is 16 hours per month of yanking on my dogs mats. It was actually damaging our relationship and now hes more than happy to come when called UPDATE: 2nd groom, Alyssa DIDNT DISAPPOINT! She was here a llllong time, did nails, checked glands, did inside ears, washed for like an hour almost, blow out - she's just a pro!! 4/4/2020 review - thank you Alyssa for handing our 50lb Standard poodle like a boss! We had Alyssa come out - I get it - even tho we're all quarantined but, she'd been in the house for a few weeks like us, only to the store for food and she just stayed in our bathroom - safe for everyone - So Tux my pup KEEPS GETTING MORE AND MORE ADORABLE - She gave him the Asian Fusion poodle cut - each time Alyssa comes, Tux's cut brings us so much joy, he's so cute and soft after she leaves it's like laughter and smile therapy and so since we felt like she was taking the same precautions we are we had her come on our monthly schedule - just use wisdom and prudence to decide it was safe for all concerned. Thank you Alyssa, I hope this review does bring you business during these uncertain times!!

I would give this place zero stars if possible…read more I had a horrible experience with this groomer. My dog was scheduled for a grooming and it was confirmed. Then a day before the owner reached out to ask how does she get to my apartment complex downtown since she typically doesn't work downtown due to parking (which I get since it can get annoying) so I explained how I can pay for valet parking and meet her in the garage to help her- d and she said "ok that's perfect!" Then on the morning of the groom she never showed up, I sent her text after text and no response and called a bunch of times. And I never heard a word!! Which was pretty strange I truly thought something maybe happened to her and I would hear from her the next day she had some emergency. But nope nothing!!!! Fast forward to today, I get a confirm my next appt text from this company and I was SHOCKED! Like you didn't even have the decency to call me back when you stood me up! So I said that. And then this owner made up a whole lie how she texted me and I never got it (yeah right) and she didn't answer my calls that morning because "I'm not a client" which makes no sense since she was supposed to be at my home grooming my dog! I just couldn't believe it!!! So I just wanted to warn people that unfortunately the professionalism is just not there with this business.

Washing this guy is a pain, but I figured I would use somebody else's tub rather than make mine dirty. :-) I'd just cut him when I got home. Spot's was great! Super friendly staff, the tubs had built-in dispensers with four different types of shampoos that all smelled wonderful, all the towels and brushes you need, and even some warm sugar cookie cologne for the end. Washing your dog and professional bath with a restraint makes a huge difference - we were in and out in 35 minutes, and that included drying and using the 'evil' blow dryer. ALSO - they have TWO Tesla charging stations! I know that's not a huge selling point, but it was a pleasant surprise for me and I got to top off my charge while taking care of Koda. Enthusiastically recommended.

Yesterday I had my Doodle groomed and noticed an extra charge of $20 dollars written on the bill. It said Doodle Fee. I asked the associate what that meant and she said oh it's just an extra fee for Doodles. I asked her why and she stated it's because they started getting so many in the store. So I said that makes no sense at all! It's just a grift then. She said not necessarily sometimes they are in bad shape. I said well Angus is not in bad shape. He is well taken care of and he is an easy groom. The groomer has told me that he is a very good boy and that he kisses her the entire time. I then told her there is a fee for de-matting so her explanation really makes no sense. I told her that I was not ok with paying the fee. I said I will have to take him somewhere else and she casually said "Ok". She then walked to the back and spoke to someone I guess. She didn't bring Angus and said "The Doodle fee has always been there and you just didn't see it." She also stated they went up on all their prices which I didn't care about at all. She sat there blankly staring at me and said that's the price do you want to add a tip. I was furious but I paid and left. So if you have a Doodle instead of a Poodle you should stay away from this place because I also asked if that was the case and I was told the blanket charge just applies to Doodles.
