I like that they group the dogs by temperament/size instead of just a giant pack of dogs cycled out for playtime like I've seen at other places. Friendly staff, photos on social media if I want to check on my pup, very fair prices, and super accommodating to last minute schedule changes too! I can't say enough but the proof is in the pudding when my dog jumps out of the car to go see his friends now! Grooming and boarding options are also top notch! Can't recommend these folks enough so give them a try!

My girls have been a loyal customer for years. But recently in December 2025 one of my dogs leg…read morebecame pinned in their run. Via their words they said they had "pry her leg out". Luckily I happen to be able to quickly send my son to get her and rush her to the vet where she suffered a broken leg. She was covered in feces and urine which obviously as she was hurt and scared. They do not have cameras or anyone who monitors the dogs at night so they have no idea how long she was trapped. When we forwarded the vet bill to them they said it was the dogs fault as they should have been resting peacefully. Like I think they are confused as these are dogs. They mentioned they waived the $100 boarding fee and that should be enough. Our dogs are not puppies they are not rowdy they are senior dogs at 9 and 12 and are small Shih Tzus. If you have dogs boarding here I would inspect the runs and would seriously question should you continue. They are obviously another business in it for the money and not for the care of our fur babies. There is so many better options in Sumner County.

Recent new ownership has turned this place from a great place to an awesome place for our pet! The…read moreinvestment they have made to upgrade the facilities is beyond compare. Then add the benefits of the owners having real involvement in day-to-day activities and knowing the pets and owners alike is amazing. They have a real care for what they do and how they do it. The daycare areas are terrific for play indoors or out. Our pup had extreme separation anxiety any time we left the house for even brief periods of time. His days at The Barking Spot have allowed him time to socialize with other dogs and it provided a tremendous improvement on his disposition. We have used The Barking Spot for light grooming and boarding over a long weekend or two as well. They have excelled in every aspect. A recent visit our pup played a bit over zealous and was favoring a leg. They immediately called to make us aware, even though they didn't believe it to be anything too serious. When we arrived for pickup he was doing just fine - false alarm. But they cared enough to let us know. The process of signing up and making reservations is primarily done online via their website. This was a big change for us from the previous ownership, but it provides a clean, manageable way for them to operate their business and for us to get necessary updates - which makes it a big positive for all. Give this place a try a few times and see if your pet won't beg to go back like ours does each week, nearly fighting to get out the door and hop in the car. Our pup doesn't mind the vet at all, but when he goes he only whines as he realizes he's on a ride to somewhere other than The Barking Spot.

Brought our 16 year old Yorkie and 10 year old Morkie totally blind. I won't go into detail but their suggestion was we sedate our dogs before grooming ( Never done that in 30 years of owning dogs). And they said the blind one bit at them! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Never bit anyone EVER!! Makes me wonder what they were doing to him. How are you not able to control a 16 year old dog and a blind dog? Just saying! Very unprofessional. During the last year they told us our Yorkie was ready for pick up and tried to give us the wrong dog. We should have left then and never gone back.

They gave Izzy plenty of extra TLC during her first grooming appointment, and she looks amazing! I couldn't recommend this place more.

It was pretty quick so i didn't have a chance to really look at the dog's haircut. After observing their haircuts I see that both Pomeranians head cuts don't match evenly with their body cuts. Their ears are not trimmed properly and the tails aren't fluffy. I'm overall not satisfied with my first visit to this groomer. Sad to say that my normal groomer at Pet-smart does better then what I received here and for less the cost. Paying $75 each dog o would expect better. I also want to mention it took 1 hour to groom both Pomeranians and at a minimum it takes an hour and a half for one dog where ever I go. So that shows this work was rushed and not carefully done with care.
