The great care began with a call from the office moving my appointment up because I was in pain,…read morebut the remarkable part was the extraction itself. Dr Milano made this an absolutely painless process. Unlike every other dentist I have ever been too, he waits for the numbing gel to work before he starts the novaCaine injections...Additionally, he employs several "tricks" to ensure a painless procedure. This wasn't just a tooth extraction but removal of a 20 year old crown; it had all the hallmarks of being a tough experience and yet it was swift and painless

UPDATE: he has now sent me a bill for the initial visit months later after leaving this review! I…read morenow have an $125 bill for a 15 minute visit and I never got the surgery done. Also when I went to the hospital in Boston i had to retake the initial x-rays because this office did not send them and I was told by that doctor that it would be a quick and easy surgery and that as long as my cardiologist said I was fine then so was he. So nothing has really changed other than this place wasting my time and making me travel to have this done. I seem to have nothing but problems with this place. From the simplest of things like getting information sent to another doctor to the constant back and fourth to try to get a tooth out this whole process has been a big headache. I went in and had some other medical issues and ended up being cleared by too other doctors to find out that after I got the clearance that Dr. Milano still did not want to take out my wisdom teeth. I get being cautious but I've already been told by two other doctors that know more about my condition that I would be perfectly fine to have this done. So now I'm being sent to mass general in Boston for wisdom teeth to be removed. I was told I would get a call from the hospital to set up the appointment but after a week I decided to just call myself just to find out from the hospital that they never even sent anything to them. So I have been waiting in pain for over two months and still have gotten nowhere, and on top of everything it is so difficult to contact them because the business hours are not your average hours.

Over the years I have received dental treatment from a huge variety of talented Drs from general…read moredentists, pediatric dentists, orthodontics and my favorite of them all, oral surgery. The men practicing here have the utmost knowledge of their specialty and are also immensely likeable and adept. I had an implant placed here years ago, before more modern implant treatments were performed and I have been grateful of my treatment ever since. *I will note that I am currently a dental student, and to be honest Dr. Farren was a major deciding push in my career. His genuine demeanor and amazing skill as well as being very explanatory to any patients with piqued curiosities is part of what drew me to the field. Once deciding for sure that I was interested I shadowed for 1 summer at the office, under the direction of Dr. Robinson who is also a talented as well as supremely kind practitioner. Being both a patient, and behind the scenes at this practice has made me without hesitation give the office the highest amount of stars possible. If you're anywhere near the office and you need a tooth pulled, or any other facial surgeries performed this is absolutely where you should go.

I had an overall good experience at SouthCoast Oral Surgery. The building has an old-fashioned…read moreappearance, and there is ample parking. However, I'm deducting a star because of how unwelcoming and unpleasant the front desk staff member was. I encountered the same woman during both my consultation and surgery appointment, and her attitude was just as poor both times. Perhaps not a bad day, but a bad life....This is an environment where patients are often anxious, and basic courtesy and customer service should be the bare minimum. On both visits, she failed to acknowledge me standing directly in front of her until I spoke up after nearly 5 minutes both times. She also tried to make it seem as though I hadn't completed my paperwork, despite the fact that I had filled everything out when I first scheduled my appointment. The paperwork was sitting in a stack right next to her. There is simply no excuse for treating patients this way, especially in a medical setting where people may already feel vulnerable. Thankfully, the actual medical care was a completely different experience. During my initial consultation, I had X-rays taken and watched a video explaining the potential risks associated with wisdom tooth removal. Dr. Reid then came in, reassured me that my case appeared straightforward, and thoroughly explained the procedure. I especially appreciated that he respected my autonomy by allowing me to decide whether to proceed, how many wisdom teeth I wanted removed, and which type of sedation I preferred. On the day of surgery, despite another unpleasant interaction at the front desk over payment (that I was prepared and willing to make) ; both Dr. Reid and his assistant were incredible. They maintained a relaxed, positive atmosphere and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire procedure. They explained what they were doing as they went, which helped ease my nerves. Despite having some stubborn impacted wisdom teeth, the procedure was completed in about 15 minutes. Between the music, sedation, and reassurance, I didn't feel a thing and was in good spirits throughout the experience. My recovery has been going well so far, and I've been following their aftercare instructions. Overall, I would recommend SouthCoast Oral Surgery for the quality of care. Dr. Reid and his assistant were professional, reassuring, and genuinely great at what they do. Just be prepared to deal with a front desk experience that leaves a lot to be desired. The surgical team deserves five stars; the front desk experience is the only reason I'm giving four.

Very happy with the service (the employees) throughout the process of our consultation/exam,etc…read more Unfortunately I found the space very much uncleanly, starting with the windows in the waiting room. Leading to when you actually looked around you notice built up funk on the tile floor as if it's almost never cleaned. Hair and miscellaneous on exam chairs and the bathroom, like it's never vacuumed or swept on off time. Stains on towel dispenser/cabinets in exam room along with dust and random crumbs of dirt everywhere makes you wonder what else isn't clean to be honest. For a dentist office or any medical office you want the space to be very clean and this definitely was unsettling that it wasn't.

There were spiders, spiderwebs, dirt, grime, dust EVERYWHERE!! Trash was uncovered and overflowing with garbage. NONE of the hygienist equipment that I observe was covered/sanitized, saw nothing wrapped in plastic, all exposed just sitting on counters? The Floors look liked they had not been cleaned in months/years!!! Large hole in the wall. Looked like someone very angry was in there? I really can't believe a MEDICAL establishment like this exist in the USA!!! The State Board has obviously NOT been there in a very long time! They are also guilty of misleading the elderly (my aunt). That's another very sad & unfortunate travesty. I will resolve..... I did try to speak with the "Office Manager" Tamarra, she apparently is so important she would NOT give me her last name? She was uncaring, rude, unprofessional, and offered no resolution or apology. I really had to just smile and shake my head in disbelief. So very very sad. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the corporate office, contacting the Attorney General Office, BBB, Dental State Board (done), and I'll be sending my pictures/video and proof of how they mislead my elderly aunt to investigative reporter Ben Simmoneau @ channel 5 WCVB (he's awesome). They can not get away with cheating the elderly and practicing in this third world disgusting environment. They should be ashamed of themselves!
