Update: The owner fixed the issue himself and explained that they had used a contractor they didn't use before. He fixed the issue and refunded the charge, so overall it was a positive experience. I appreciated the follow up and quick fixing of the original situation. Zero communication, then the tech was 3 hrs late to our appointment. He "fixed" the issue with a new part which I paid for and the solution lasted for 1 day. I called to get a resolution on the issue and he came back and said there was a new issue completely unrelated and a second new part was needed. I'm not clear if it was incompetence or just a way to extract more money, but the full cost of the two parts was more than the machine cost itself. read more

But I hadn't serviced my washer in six years. I checked around with other companies and the price quoted was in line with others. Inquired the company because I need my fridge looked at. Was called the same day and told a technician could come by between 1-4 and I would be called 30 minutes before the driver comes, told them my dad was helping me out because I would be at work and he would be available between 2-4, they were okay with it. 4:15 comes around I CALL THEM, the guy tells me he will call the technician and give me a call back. I had to call him after 20 minutes of not hearing back he says he will call the technician again he's at a previous appointment. Then I get called back at around 5:45 saying the technician is stuck in traffic and was at a previous appointment and will be there at 7:30. The technician never came. Thank god my dad didn't have anything to do he was there at my apartment waiting for them. Horrible communication and literally never came. Won't be using them again and just want to warn others in case you have plans or really need to fix an appliance... they might not even show up! Just tell me that they weren't able to come and reschedule, I would have been fine with that. Very unprofessional! read more

A manager/dispatcher answered the phone (rather than me having to leave a message like with the previous five or six places...and good luck getting a callback) and worked with my work schedule to have a technician out the same day! When does THAT ever happen?! Andrew came out to our Palos Verdes home and he was WONDERFUL. He was on time (once, and early once!), professional, pleasant, and diagnosed the problem with our Maytag Bravos washing machine within ten minutes. He didn't have the needed part (washer drive pulley), but asked when I'd next be available (24 hours later), and a different manager/dispatcher from A & O phoned me the next day to let me know Andrew would be able to come back and complete the repair at my requested soonest time. The machine is working like a dream! A 50% deposit was required at the end of the first visit, and the total job, part and labour, came to just under $300. It can be really hard to find skilled and dependable repair technicians, at a fair price, and I believe it's a good idea to build a relationship...I've added Alpha & Omega to my Contacts and intend to rely on them for all my home appliance servicing needs! read more

I would love to give them more stars since the technician was great and did a nice job - BUT - the communication prior to the repair was terrible and put me in a bad position on a Saturday from 2 pm - 8pm. After the initial diagnostic visit, I heard nothing from anyone for 3 days. When I texted to inquire, I got a call at noon that same day to pull out my fridge from the wall (which I can't do actually), turn it off and defrost it because the technician would be there in 2 hours. I had to leave where I was, cancel my plans for the day, rush home, and clean and try to defrost the fridge prior to the technician's arrival. He came 3 hours after the scheduled time by the way. When he arrived he was really nice but made a point of telling me that the repair would take longer because he had to defrost the fridge first (I was given 2 hours notice so it was hard to do that). So, I would say communication and scheduling needs work - the repair was great. read more

So I got in touch with alpha and Omega to come out and troubleshoot my GE Opal ice maker. I had the machine open which made it easy to see all of the inner parts and to work on. I suspected it was the pump, but I'm no expert. Your technician showed up. Looked at the machine and after a few minutes he said that my compressor had failed and that it wasn't worth fixing. My hope was that he was gonna show up with some parts, and try a few things and fix it. Nope! He came out to collect the service fee and leave. I told him he didn't do anything, I was both angry and annoyed. I wrote the check and showed him the door. The technician left and came back with the check, said he was told the return it. Thanks for that. Not willing to accept his diagnosis. I ordered the pump, installed it and viola! I am back in action. I have my ice maker back. I used to be a technician and I took my time assessed and gave each of my customers a fair assessment and never BS'd anyone. I know honest people are hard to come by, but the guy that came to my house needs more training and might be better off in another line of work. My 14 year-old refrigerator suddenly died on Tuesday. I went on Yelp and found A&O. They sent a technician, Andrew, out that same afternoon! Wow! He diagnosed the problem and told me that it would require he order a part (a new control board that runs the freezer/refrigerator). He cautioned me that it was pricey ($395 for the part, not including labor to install it) I approved the estimate as I really wanted to save this refrigerator as it's in perfect condition plus it's the right size and color for my kitchen. The part was ordered on Tuesday afternoon and received on Wednesday afternoon. He returned to my home on Thursday morning to install it. Not only did he do a great job, but he also cleaned the area behind and beneath my refrigerator, which was quite dusty! Andrew was very professional, friendly, tidy and thorough. Our LG fridge stopped working out of nowhere and is only 3 years old. I called 6 other appliance companies before calling alpha and no one could even come out to assess the damage. Alpha & omegas dispatchers fitted us in same day and were extremely communicative calling to let me know when the technician was 15 minutes away. I think our techs name was Julienne but he was extremely professional and polite and was able to figure out the compressor and motherboard both went out and it would be a couple days to order the parts in. He was able to use the LG warranty and fixed our fridge in under half hour for a amazing price. He cleaned up after himself and it was an amazing stress free experience as a customer.
