Contacted the proprietor of this business and set up an appointment. He gave me a 3 hour window for 12-3. I texted him the day before the appointment to confirm, but no response. I took off work with the hope that he would still show up. He did not show up. I called him to see if he was running late, but he did not answer my call. Sam came out 45 minutes early and found the problem with my LG washer extremely quickly. We had a hose leak internal on the unit and it caused corrosion leading to much bigger issues. He offered a reasonable quote considering the motor had malfunctioned and implied it might be best to get new as we discussed approaches. After the warranty suggestion he advised to look into it and I caught the tail end of a 10 year coverage on the part. Don't make an appointment if you cannot make it, at least have the courtesy to cancel if the technician cannot come. My gas clothes dryer was making a thumping noise that sounded like gym shoes were in the drum drying, which they were not. Research online suggested a worn out roller wheel or drum belt. I called Accurate at 8 AM this morning, got a live person who said she would refer me to Carl and when he could address the problem. I heard back from Carl in about 10 minutes. I told him the problem and he said it sounded like what the internet described. He said he had a call near me and would squeeze me in between 9 and 11 AM. He got here about 10:10, checked the sound it was making and agreed it sounded like the rollers and drum belt. He had it fixed and running in 15 minutes. Amazing! Both times I have called Accurate Appliance we have gotten a callback from Carl Giacomino. This guy rocks! My husband and I are pretty much the least handy people on the planet! Our skill set stops abruptly at light bulbs! I called Carl last year because our gas stove would not ignite. Turns out some safety switch needed flipped. We paid a very minimal service call fee and were thrilled to not have an actual repair bill. Today I dug Carl's card out of my kitchen knife drawer because our dishwasher stopped working. It was making dishwasher sounds with NO WATER! Carl gave me a tip over the phone for the most likely cause of the issue, explained to me how to fix it (i.e. wipe the soup out from under your floater) and miraculously the machine started pumping water again! No charge! It's so refreshing getting help from someone that is legitimately interested in finding simple, inexpensive solutions. My washer wasnt working so called and left a message and Carl called me back in less than an hour. He asked me detailed questions about the type of washer I had and what it was or was not doing. He then explained to me what the issue was and walked me through how to fix it. He said it was a simple fix and that I could probably do it myself because if he came out he would have to charge me for doing something so simple. I really appreciated his honesty! I was able to fix my washing myself without hiring anyone!! It isn't every day that you actually find an honest repair man. Carl showed up to my house 30 minutes after I called him. I have an older GE Profile Performance refrigerator that was leaking water when I tried to dispense water. I had tried to setup an appointment through GE repair which was going to charge 89 for the visit Plus and hourly rate plus materials, and they couldn't get to my house for a week. Finding Accurate Appliance on yelp I gave a ring. 30 minutes later Carl is at my condo and working on the issue. 30 minutes after that I have running water from my fridge and no leaks. He called back within minutes and after hearing what I was experiencing with my refrigerator, he made some troubleshooting suggestions. I was actually surprised that he was willing to share these suggestions instead of coming out right away and charging for a service call. This was out of his expertise (and most appliance repair services), so we didn't proceed with the work. However, he didn't charge us despite the time and effort he put into it. I'm sad to say that my experience with Accurate Appliance recently has not been great. I called last week as my fridge and freezer weren't working. I left a message with the woman who answered the phone and never heard back. After waiting a week, I called again and left a voicemail. I got a call back and made an appointment for the next day between 9a-11a. NO ONE SHOWED UP! I understand that sometimes other appointments run long or that there are extenuating circumstances but I didn't receive any kind of communication. I even left another voicemail to ask if they were still coming and have not heard back. This is very disappointing to me as we have had Accurate Appliance come service our clothes dryer and oven in the past and were pleased with the work.
