My car started to make odd noises while driving over Monarch Pass to CB for a weekend trip with friends. My friends needed to catch flights from DIA early Monday morning and fixing the car before then seemed unlikely. I called the shop and reached John right before closing Friday evening. Without having an appointment or ever using CB Auto prior, John offered to take a drive with my vehicle to assure it's safety for return trip Sunday. The crew was quick to diagnose my car's alignment issue and then, stayed past close to fix the problem! As a result of the complications, I needed a new tire to replace my completely worn down one. John called a shop in Gunnison on my behalf (one of few open on Saturdays) to see if they had the size tire I needed & then confirmed they could work on my car first thing the next morning. The guys were extremely friendly and helpful from my initial call to the end of my visit. When I asked how much I owed them, they told me not to worry about it. None of these places can hold a candle to Action Adventures Snowmobile in Crested Butte, Colorado. Our guide, Bobby, was the absolute best! He began by introducing himself and asking all of our names. He remembered all of us and called us by name during the adventure; a very personal and professional touch in my opinion. Bobby told us how to use the snowmobiles and we were off down the snowmobile road. We took a variety of detours from the road including a "rollercoaster" ride down a hill, a couple of jaunts through a spruce tree forest, a rest stop at an outdoor camping restroom, and free time in a prairie. Bobby delighted us with stories of the aspen trees and their interconnectedness. We are from Florida, so I asked if we could make snow angels. Bobby found the perfect place for us to create our own snow angels with not much trouble of getting back up! I cannot thank you enough for this thoroughly enjoyable trip of a lifetime. So, not only did the master bedroom not have a door, essentially the master bathroom did not have a door either. Please look at the property pics that show the bathtub in the master bathroom. During the stay we requested that the door be installed and they agreed but never got it done. The door was in the closet but the hinge hardware was missing so we could not hang it ourselves. The property description needs to state clearly that the master bedroom (master bathtub room) does not have a door so that guests in the living room below can hear every whisper and can also walk up the stairs to sneak up on you bathing, sleeping, getting dressed, etc. as there is no door! I left a 4 star review on VRBO saying that the property would be a 5 star if only the master bedroom door was installed. Kathy Reid then left a retaliatory 3 star renter review. So, in summary the property is misrepresented and be careful leaving a critical review on VRBO as they will then leave a revenge rating.

He sat on the job for nearly 3 weeks leaving me stranded without transportation in a rural community. My car started stalling as soon as I got it back from him. He claimed it was a problem with the fuel tank not pump. I had to get the car towed to a Volvo mechanic on the front range where sure enough Bob had installed the fuel pump wrong. After showing Bob the notes and pics from the new shop and asking for a refund on his labor, he refused and I've had to take him to small claims court. FYI Bob does not accept credit cards. If he had I could have disputed the charge through my bank. Do not do business with this man! He is a terrible mechanic and utterly lacking in character!

Most recently we rented a piece of equipment that malfunctioned, leaving us with a huge, unfinished project. Josh, the BCR equipment manger, did everything right to remedy the situation and to help us get back on track. This was one of those situations in which a negative was transformed into a very memorable positive. That's what great businesses do. A successful business understands that customer satisfaction is the key to longevity. In a smaller market like Montrose, this is especially true, and the crew at BCR has mastered the formula.
