Clean bath house, restrooms and economical and clean laundry. Office has drinks, RV supplies, and regular gasoline. There is a pickle board court and tents acceptable in a tent area, not on RV sites. Highly recommend and hope to return. We stayed 1 month in a 26' trailer and there is much to do in every direction you had out of this location. Also, great free WiFi throughout the park.

The whole staff is wonderful. Fifty-amp power is excellent, showers and laundry facilities are kept spotless and the wi-fi, while it leaves something to be desired, is adequate--you should be outside enjoying the beautiful surroundings instead of surfing the net anyway! Leave the kids and grandkids at home though, because this is an over 55 RV park and only open from around the 21st of May until the 21st of September.

The cabins have small kitchens with all the plates and utensils you'll need. The cabins all have front porches and plenty of parking. There are tall Cottonwood trees that shade the areas and you can sit and watch the gunnison river and hear it from your cabin. This is totally laid back and restful for the adults. Activities include: playing basketball, soccer, tetterball, or borrow a bike and ride the country roads. that's right for free! They even allow dogs! Your whole family will enjoy this welcome rest. About a 6 mile drive to Gunnison if you want to go into town. About 10 miles to Taylor lake which is breathtaking.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and rented out the Teocalli King Room. The sheets and bathrobes were nice, and the stand-in shower was excellent. It was quite cozy with plenty of room, storage space, and amenities to make it as comfortable of a stay as possible. Not to mention the direct access to the hot tub was a plus, which was a great addition. The host, Chris, is a superb cook and prepares a high-quality breakfast every morning of a variety of delicacies. I'm not even a fan of eggs but his Southwestern frittata has made me a believer now. He's very attentive to allergies as well and will always do his best to accommodate. My wife has a severe gluten allergy and he was always sure to supply a substitute. The only other thing he hosted regularly was beer tastings at 5, which we were unable to attend due to our plans, but he does have a nice selection of brews stored for it. The views from the B&B are great and it's located just a short walk from Elk Ave, where you'll find all the main shops and restaurants. Even closer is the bus stop that'll take you up the mountain. Overall, I cannot recommend Purple Mountain B&B for your stay. For the price point, the amenities, and level of service you're getting, it can't be beat. Definitely staying here again when we come back some day.

Not only is it cute, the location is perfect and Chris is very knowledgable....not to forget a fantastic chef! Every morning at breakfast he cooks something delicious and lets everyone know what is going on around town that day and can provide good suggestions on hikes/trails and also on restaurants. We stayed in the Crested Butte room which was cozy and reasonably priced; also took the cruiser bikes for a spin around town that are provided for our use. We LOVED our stay and absolutely will return the next time we head to Crested Butte.

The common area is really nice and cozy - couches, Netflix, books, etc - the bunkrooms & bathrooms are immaculately clean, and the prices are sooooo reasonable. After two nights in the bunkroom, I switched to the private room (once it became available), which was definitely worth it. The vibe during my staff was kind of "do your own thing", which was perfect. The outside areas were exactly what I needed - a ton of grass, some hammocks, etc. Location is great for Gunnison. We spent the few days walking around town, using computers at the local library, getting snacks at the supermarket, eating breakfast and dinner at local restaurants. Super walkable location. Very quiet and safe. Would 1000000000% recommend to anyone in the area!

This is an AWESOME public campground and best of all, it's donation only (aka FREE!). We were there…read morein a high clearance vehicle on May 31, 2014. The entire campground was dry and snow-free. A car can get up the road from Ohio City, but it is a bit rocky for the last 1-2 miles. Trailheads for Mill Lake and about 3-4 other trails that head up to Lamphier Lake, Fairview Peak, and even Henry Lake and passes that lead further up and beyond into the Gunnison Natl Forest are located steps from the campsites. I tried to label pics of the campground and each campsite (there are 6). If you drive past the trailhead parking area, there is a bridge that crosses Gold Creek and we noted some campers over there for one night in a smaller area. They were in a Subaru and it was pretty muddy, but they made it in and out w/no problem. Thanks to volunteers who keep this campground tip-top! There is one vault toilet, and I suppose you could filter creek water, but be prepared with supplies if you camp up here. Looks like horses use some of the trails, but a sign said "no horses in campground". TONS of snow was still on the ground. We tried to get to Mill Lake, but the trail was buried in 3-4 feet in late May. We postholed for awhile, but turned around as it was getting late, never making the lake. The next day, boyfriend summitted Fairview Peak and reportedl that Mill Lake was still all frozen, anyway, of course.
