Decent food for the price. They have a variety of sandwiches and chips. I would eat there for convenience.

Service is nice but food selection is so so. I really like the salad bar. Note that it's not as good as Salata, but it's pretty good and moderately priced. I like the sandwiches, particularly the pressata-style ones and sometimes they'll have a good soup that I pair with my salad from the bar. I really only go there because it's very close to my office and quick to get in and out of, but I do go pretty frequently for take out and sometimes for catering. They do also have a nice boxed lunch. read more

I work in the same building, and like this place for a quick bite. If you want to grab a premade wrap and delicious soup, this is a great place to stop by. Alonti also offers made-to-order...if you want to wait. Beware of the self-serve...it's all by weight and prices can get high. So this is my 2nd time in 3 years....now I know why I hadn't frequented this place more often. Don't remember what I had last time, but I am sure it wasn't good. This time I am wondering how can you mess up chili...it was so oily and why did it have a sweet flavor....there isn't enough hot sauce in the world to fix this flavor...need a strainer for the oil. Also got a veggie wrap...can't really have a veggie wrap without a lot of veggies...should have been called a spinach vinagerette WRAP...emphasis on the "wrap" part because it was more or less a tortilla that was barely stuffed. I've ate at Alonti's a few times in the past, never at breakfast, but I was in the tunnels and wanted something so I went in here as they have an ala carte menu. I got 2 scrambled eggs and 2 strips of bacon. Bacon was good. Thick and just good. Eggs on the other hand had issues. Taste was good. Just scrambled eggs. But the portion was lousy. The menu says 2 scrambled eggs for $1.59. Not bad until you see their version of 2 scrambled eggs. It's not 2 eggs, it's 2 scoops for what looks like a table spoon measuring cup. The put it in a small square to go box and the "2 eggs" didn't cover the container bottom. I questioned there server about the portion amount, and they said that it was 2 eggs and asked if I wanted to purchase 2 more. I said no and chalked this up to I won't come back here again. I've ate breakfast at a lot of places from mom n pops to McDs to higher end chains and never seen 2 eggs look so small. If they need to charge more for 2 real eggs, do so, but don't try and fool customers with low prices and tiny portions. If you've read any of my breakfast reviews, I don't mind paying good money for good food. $20+ for breakfast at Breakfast Klub will prove that. But I hate getting ripped off. That $1.59 egg just fixed it so I won't go back to an Alonti's again. But I'm only one former customer. Now I will go find another place and finish breakfast. Good day. read more

Pretty great option for a quick lunch downtown. It's good to come with coworkers or friends because there's a variety that can fill people's different tastes. I got the salad while my coworker got pasta. The salad was fresh, loaded with ingredients and made right in front of you so you can ask if you want any more of anything. The line for the salads was pretty long, I had about 5 people in front of me but it moved quite efficiently, considering they hand toss everything. My coworker didn't want to wait so that's why she got pasta instead. I got the Cobb salad which has bacon bits, eggs, chicken, avocado and topped it with a vinegarette which paired nicely. My coworkers lasagna looked good too! She also got a dessert which is off to the side. I also saw they had a buffet type area by the wall where you can fill your plate with hot food. All in all, I'd come here again because of efficient service and plenty of seating. We had a client meeting in the same building after, so it was very convenient! Slowest restaurant! Takas way too long to make a sandwich. Shouldn't take 15 minutes to get a simple sandwich. They were also out of several ingredients. Very disappointed. I can't get over how extremely slow the staff took orders and let the toast sit there while others hadn't even put in their order and they should be making the sandwich. I will say that my sandwich was delicious, the curry chicken salad sandwich and the Mediterranean salad was SO good!!! read more

When I first got to Houston and went to my miserable hotel without a soul (the hotel, not me), I thought, oh well, once I get outside it will be better. When I went outside, it was hot and deserted, kind of like an upscale version of downtown Detroit. Geez, what's up, did we have a zombie invasion and nobody told me? Shoot, I should have listened better when the ex went on and on about all that stupid zombie stuff. Oh wait, everyone is down in the tunnels! Everyone here eats, commutes, does dry cleaning, etc. via the tunnel system! Problem solved (and zombies avoided), I headed to Alonti (underground) for breakfast the next morning. I ordered bacon and eggs on a biscuit. It looks liked they'll make whatever combo you ask for, though I was too tired to come up with anything creative. Bacon was medium quality, but definitely edible. Eggs were bland, not impressive. But the biscuit - hello my yummy, dense, soft, four cubes of butter biscuit, where have you been all my life?? If I have to go back to Houston for work again, those biscuits and I will have a heartfelt reunion. read more

Lunch first: Ok, the set-up here is kind of crazy during the lunch rush, especially if it's your first visit. My first experience sucked, because I didn't understand where the lines were, where to make my order or what to do after standing around for so long trying to ask the staff. Finally, they had a moment to explain there's a line for the hot plates on the far left, a line for sandwiches in the middle and a line for salads on the far right. After that was covered the only other problems I've had here was with them running out of the food I wanted (back when I took my lunch from 1-2). This became a frequent problem so I started ordering the vegetarian sandwich and said to hell with antonio's and muffaletttas! This sandwich is delicious and it's really all I get anymore. Breakfast: Their banana nut muffin is really good! Good price for grits, too. Load them up with butter and a little sugar -yum! They have a few other different muffin choices, oatmeal, fresh fruit and other items under the heat lamps (can't remember what). There's also a fridge full of sodas, teas and juices near the checkout counter. Pretty good spot for breakfast or lunch. read more

What's with the mediocre reviews? Ive had Alonti twice - once catered and once at the tunnel restaurant by Post Oak Grill and Ninfas. The kale salad is so good, like possibly the best salad I've ever had. They have this amazing honey mustard dressing and the salad itself is really good. I've also gotten the cranberry turkey sandwich, which I thought was really good. All their stuff is reasonably priced, moderately healthy, and delicious. Perfect lunch place. read more

My client catered them for lunch and it was run of the mill sandwiches...turkey (but lots of it), chicken salad (sort of plain), cookies, fruit and good potato chips. The next day they gave us some space so I ventured down there for something fast. They have a pretty awesome selection...hot serve yourself foods, a small salad bar, made to order salads, sandwiches and pre-made things as well. I opted for the salad bar and some au-gratin potatoes. It's all about balance, right? The potatoes were worth every fattening bite. For such a small space, they really give you lots of options, which is nice. Service was nice as well. read more

The pay by the pound salad bar was well stocked and had some great food. It missed on 5 stars due to the slightly confusing nature of the restaurant for a first timer? Was I supposed to order something, just grab food then pay, are the options different behind the counter? Now that I learned the system (30 seconds to do so) I will be back. read more

First - Catering. I frequently order from the catering menu for my job. The food is ALWAYS good and fresh and the presentation is awesome! Never any complaints. The delivery is always on time. Can't forget the dessert items. Wonderfully delicious. The entire staff is so professional and so wonderful and will accommodate any order, any time and will make it specifically as requested. They accommodate late minute orders and haven't failed me yet. I adore the staff! They really make me look good. (Thanks Patrick and Rene). Second - Personal. I've gone into the restaurant several times for lunch. I have only eaten from the hot foods and the salad bar both of which are very good. This is the first Friday in Lent and I would like to see tuna on the salad bar (it is in the sandwich line). Lunch can become a bit pricy since they weigh the food (hot foods and salad bar), so, be mindful of what you're putting in your container. read more

The food is always good, every time I have had it; very fresh! However, the staff is a completely different story. They leave a lot to be desired. If they are not downright rude to you, they will act as if you were not there. They allow friends and people they know order in front of you and look at you like you did something wrong. Total bummer since their food is good; but I dislike going there because of the people that work there. read more

Staff is rude. Called at 10:15am to place an order for 3 sandwiches for a lunch meeting. Was told they wouldn't be ready until 11:45 but I could come in person and get them now. After walking to Alonti's, I was told I would to to wait until they finished all their catering orders. Would get to me in about 15 minutes. Not a fan... There are several lines once you are inside, and it can be confusing. Not a lot of signs, so unless you are a regular, you'll have a hard time navigating this place. I tried their "popular" tequila chicken once and it wasn't very kind to my stomach. The pasta wasn't freshly cooked, which didn't help. I love Alonti! Used to be a location in the Galleria area when I worked in a building where they shared the parking lot and was sadden when they left. Salads are awesome and plentiful and the selection of fruits and veggies for your salad are on point! Breakfast is always hot and ready and it seems the staff is always busy preparing some catered lunch for some business. However, they are never too busy to stop and help, if they see a customer come in, which speaks volumes. The Chicken Tequila pasta is my absolute favorite and now I can continue to get my fix because they are in the tunnel below the building I work at now! I keep trying to give this place a chance. The food is quite alright. As others have mentioned, unless you've been here before, you will have no clue how the lines work. I would certainly not try going at rush lunch time. That is a cluster for sure. The staff consistently acts as if you are a bother by wanting to order food. (I've only done the custom sandwiches.) It ALWAYS takes forever. They will eventually ask what you want to order. They get the bread, meat, cheese together and run it through a long 'toaster'. Then they will move on to another customer or task. Once your sandwich starter is through there, you will have to wait and hope that one of the employees will decide to get it and finish making your sandwich. It is like which of their poor souls drew the short straw and actually has to help customers today. Then, of course, hope they include the ingredients listed on the menu. I've more than once ended up with a club without bacon or without avocado. I'm finally writing this review because I've been trying this place on and off for the past 3 years - the employees consistently have this poor attitude. No thanks. Food is good but service is always poor; even when not busy with customers. It's almost as though customers are an inconvenience to them. When not busy with customers they're too busy doing other things than to bother with just one customer. They never places napkins or utensils in to-go bag. They never have oatmeal condiments easily available and they don't ever offer them to or remind folks of the condiments (almost as though they are hoarding them). Lastly, they seem to overall about 10% to 20% pricier than many competitors. read more

They do a pretty standard job with catering orders and get them to the buildings. Never had an error with there being ordered.
