Fantastic new climbing and bouldering gym in Kahului. I've been hoping for a place like this to open for years, and it's better than I could have hoped! There's ample ventilation, which is critical for climbing in our local climate. The staff are lovely. The facility itself is pristine: 40 foot climbing walls with fixed grigri to belay for top roping, some lead climbing, loads of bouldering. The routesetting grading is a little soft, but the routes themselves are fun and thoughtful. Nice little basic gym area too with some weights and benches. They have a gear shop with a good selection of harnesses and shoes, and some snacks including local fave Pauwela Bev Co. Oh, and the pricing is very attractive for what you get. Absolutely a five star spot. I'm so thrilled!

so incredible!!! multiple boulder walls with beginner friendly - expert routes! I came with my friends and took advantage of the 1st day for locals price ($20). it came with shoes and was full day access :) we had SO MUCH fun and I can't wait to come back

What a interesting new place to explore. A little tricky to find behind Costco but worth the hunt. Upon entering you need to sign a ipad waiver whether just looking around or rock climbing. The staff is very helpful if you have an difficulty with their iPad. So many choices for routes to take-free climbing/ropes/hanging holds. I ask lots of questions and staff was very happy to answer all of mine. You need to take a class to be certified to use their walls. They said they will be changing the rock positions every month or so, so you will continue to be challenged if come back multiple times. I was just looking this time but look forward to going back to take a class and try the ropes another time.

Go try... you will be blown away by the scale, the quality, the friendly owners and staff that love such a fun , healthy activity and are one on one sharing climbing with you. This is a place for everyone from keiki to kūpuna to all to hang out and enjoy each other and this AMAZING facility! Did i mention this place is MASSIVE!?

I was so excited when I heard Maui's first climbing gym was opening. The team that had vision and courage to put this amazing facility together care deeply about our island community and the future of climbing in Hawaii. Tony, Jeff, Scott, Angie (just to name a few!) bring aloha, good vibes, and passion to the sport and its future on Maui. The facility is well thought out with excellent bouldering and rope climbing routes, plus exercise equipment, gear for rent/sale, and nice lounge areas. Thank you Aloha Rock Gym team for bringing this facility to Maui!!

We have taken three of their "Morning Walks" with our grandkids and it's a perfect introduction to hiking. Honestly we've had three different ...wonderful.. experiences. It's not strenuous and you're taken back to some private land that you'd not have access to if you just drove up and parked (if you found a parking spot) and hiked back in. We were lucky to have the lovely, fun, and knowledgeable guide named Randolyn ..aka Ran. She was the perfect blend of kind, patient and engaging with the grandkids, and very helpful with us old folks! On the drive on the way home she advised a few newbies to the island where some great places to eat were... they greatly appreciated her ideas! She had the most pleasant demeanor.... :) If you want a fun morning walk, call Hike Maui

Driving from the east side, there were one-way narrow roads over cliffs. Leaving from the west side was easy-peasy. Parking - Keep an eye out for a red sign that says 'Camp Maluhia'. First lot is overflow, keep driving past gates to main lot where trailhead is located. Hike from overflow parking lot to trailhead is about 1.2 miles each way. Hike incline - First 1/4 mile of asphalt was the steepest. Next mile was incline but not too bad. Last mile was steeper incline. Hike views - If you go on a cloudier sunny day like we did, there were AMAZING views up until the last 0.5 miles. The overlook at the very end was above clouds so we couldn't see anything. Shoes - I don't recommend wearing sandals or flip flops, because it is pretty rocky and steep. No large rock climbing. I got by wearing casual tennis shoes, but running/hiking shoes are best. There were no stream crossings, so no need to worry about feet getting wet.

We did the six‑line course on a sunny but pretty windy day, and it was a blast. I arrived feeling nervous since it was my first time ziplining and I hate the drop feeling that roller coasters give you, but also excited to fly through nature. The lady at the front desk was friendly and got us all checked in. You have the option of putting your personal items that you don't want to carry with you in a basket which they keep safe behind the counter while you're gone for a few hours. Our guides were Dylan, Jake (who was in training), and Max, who handled the catching. We took a van ride up to the mountain, which was very rough and bumpy, but part of the adventure if you can handle that. When we reached the top, the view was stunning. Since it was a clearer day, you could see a lot of Molokai, and Lanai, which was special. After a safety briefing and getting geared up, the guides walked us through what to do in the air and what their hand signals meant. After we did the baby zipline course to get everyone comfortable, we took a fun jungle ATV ride through the beautiful nature to the longest zip-line course they offer! This was my favorite line that we did and it was 2,300 feet long! This is only part of the six-line course, not the four-line course. So if you want to do the longest line, you have to book the six. We flew over the beautiful scenery and it was awesome being able to experience each line in tandem with one of your friends or family instead of going by yourself. It just adds to the fun experience being able to fly with someone you love! I wore a GoPro on my chest to capture the experience, and watching the footage back was so fun. They also take photos of you on the course, and you can buy their package afterwards if you want. They play a slideshow of all the photos they captured of everyone after you take a bumpy van ride back down the mountain to the office, so you can see if it's worth buying or not. I loved that each landing platform had music playing, which kept the vibes fun and relaxed. There's also shade and water at every stop. If you're in a larger group (we had a family and another couple in our group), the process for everyone to zip down can take a little while, but since they send two people at a time, the waiting isn't too bad especially when you have such beautiful views to look at to pass the time. One girl in our group was too scared to do the longest line, and the staff handled it kindly, escorting her back without making her feel bad. We had so much fun flying through the air together over breathtaking views, we'll definitely be coming back!
