We had another company's plumber snake the bathtub, but unfortunately, it didn't solve the problem. Within an hour, he was able to clear a hairball from the pipe and get the bathtub draining properly again! We were initially worried that there might be a broken pipe, so we were very relieved that Eddie was able to resolve the issue so quickly. Huge thank you to Eddie and Oakland Rooter and Plumbing! The first time was a pipe under the sink that busted and it flooded the kitchen and it was going into the living room. He helped to repair the broken pipe. The second time was a few weeks ago when a part connected to our water heater blew up. It was spraying water everywhere and again part of the downstairs flooded. Not only did he respond to my message that I left quickly! And I also left a text just to be sure. He called back and walked me through some safety protocols to make sure everything was turned off like the gas. Then came by the next day! He is very honest and does not try to upsell. He could've easily sold me a whole new water heater installation because it's been in the home already now for 18 years!, but he decided that we could just try changing the one part that had rusted and began spewing water everywhere. It was crazy. I was in so much distress, but was so encouraged by his honest helpfulness. It ended up being cheaper than I had anticipated. Because I had checked in with Costco and Home Depot for a full replacement. But if I would've went that route, I would've spent thousands of dollars. It feels so good to know that there's an honest skilled plumber in our community you're not only does excellent work but cares about people. We learned the hard way: check your water heaters regularly.

I called a civil standby officer to keep the tenant at bay, but his threats continued. Other contractors might have been intimidated. But Joel remained steadfast and finished the job by my deadline. We got bids on a "pex" replacement and when we told them theirs was too high the bid was magically lowered. We were the fools who took the lowest bid. What we thought was a "repiping" of our house turned out to be a "partial repiping." So the drip was fixed but a lot of old galvanized piping remains. And here's the bad news: the new pex piping was inadequately attached to the floor joists under the house and the installer removed many sections of furnace ducting to work down there and run the new piping. So we found that one of our heater registers had no heat/no attachment to the furnace duct! Hot air blowing into the crawl space.... So we have paid someone to reattach the piping and the ducts. And when the "new piping" was done I subscribed to the annual maintenance agreement. This is a total scam! No work is done under this agreement.
