Snack in Kailua, O'ahu, Hawai'i...
Elote is Mexican Street corn. It's usually a flavored corn on the cob with different toppings.
At the Kailua Farmers' Market (Thursdays from 4pm to 7pm), Aloha Elote has a stall in the covered part of the parking lot.
From the picture menu, I saw a cup of corn with avocado and bacon! Yum! It was topped with cheese and cilantro! Beautiful!
My order was taken by the sole worker who was very efficient and friendly! She knew Miffy and the Line Friends! I told her I had to feed them... LOL!
She got to work! Her focus, cooking skills, and precision are admirable! Ingredients were fresh and actions were thoughtfully done - like placing the wedge of lime in the right angle!
The avocado gave the sweet, fresh corn kernels some creaminess while the bacon added a smokey, savory essence! It was perfect!
I want to visit her (I didn't ask her name) at the Honolulu Farmers' Market on Wednesday evening and the KCC (Kapiolani Community College) Farmers' Market on Saturday mornings!
