I have been a customer... A happy customer... Of Aloha Clock since 2008. In September, I called and wanted them to come out to pick up my grandfather clock to clean it and repair it along with two other clocks. By December I had not heard anything back. Finally, I got a hold of them and they delivered my clocks. I paid $850 alone for my grandfather clock and it hasn't worked more than five minutes. I had him come out to look at it two times and he basically blamed me for breaking it... He'd rush and rush out. My clock would not work. I have been trying to call him for five months... I have a record of the phone calls to his business and he will not pick up the phone, you cannot leave a message, and I stopped by his place of business and he will not open the door. I guess I'm going to have to go to small claims court because $850 is a lot of money... And I'm disappointed that he's turned out to be such a jerk because he always did fantastic work before . read more

I sent them my antique mantel clock for repair in August 2023. The owner Alex said he would repair it and call me. It was now Dember 2023 and still he was not finished despite numerous times he said it would be done. I paid over $400 for the total rebuild of the Kienzle clock. I received It in Feb 2024. The clock kept good time but the Westminster chimes didn't work. I called him and he told me it's an easy fix and I was to open the back and touch a certain area and that will make it work, it did not! He then said it must be a spring that got old! He just had rebuilt the entire clock! He did not return any of the payment nor would I take it back to them. He has slick website with lots of pictures of clocks, vintage and other. These guys are just another group of scammers like the previous reviews indicate. I sold Alex a clock on eBay. He claimed the from glass was broken and his "assistant" swept away the glass so there was no picture. Against my better judgement, I sent him a refund. He still has yet to send me back my clock. It's been weeks. He uses excuses constantly. Please avoid this place at all costs and save yourself the headache. I am baffled! I had Alex repair my clock for $485. The clock works for a while then stops again. I have been back 6 (six) times to get it fixed. Now I have tried call the shop for days at various times of the day and NO ANSWER. You cannot leave a message because the mailbox is full. I have tried to email, and it is returned as undeliverable. I have stopped by the shop and it is locked down. My clock is not working AGAIN! I am so disappointed, as it was a LOT of money to give someone, and the clock never really worked properly. As with the previous one star reviews if it was possible to give zero stars I'm sure we would all do that. To make a long story very short, I live on the Big Island so I sent my small cuckoo clock in to have minor repairs done to it. After a month I called to find out what was going on with my clock and got the I'm really busy but I'm getting to it right now excuse. The only time they'll answer the phone is first thing in the morning. Other than that I'm sure they look at caller ID and ignore it and never return emails. At the eight week point he told me that the clock was fixed and he would be shipping it back to me. Every Monday for the next four weeks I called and asked where my clock is and got every excuse in the book except that the dog ate his homework. I'm sure that would have been the next excuse. I finally gave him an ultimatum that if I did not have the clock back by the end of the following week that I would not call him. My attorney would be calling him. 4 days later I had my clock back and it still doesn't work. I'm amazed that he remains in business. He shouldn't be. read more

I took my nearly 40 yr old ship's wheel mantel piece clock to have it repaired, as it had stopped working. Alex had it back up and running with a new mechanism in just a day or so, at a very reasonable price. Thank you Alex! We moved to the Big Island last year and the moving company broke a ton of our belongings including smashing in the back of our grandfather clock leaving it completely unworkable. Discovered there are NO clock repair folks on this island. Found Aloha Clock Repair online and called and got Alex! He flew over, brought all the new replacement parts, and fixed our clock. There was one issue with the timing of the night-off chimes and he was on island today and drove up to us and fixed it. This is an update to my earlier review where I stated that I took my clock into him in 2016 and still hadn't gotten it back a year later. Well, after a few more promises that "it will be fixed in two weeks", I STILL have not gotten the clock back nor a call or communication of any kind from him and today is October 24, 2018. I plan to just take the clock home as is and not give him any more "two-week" opportunities to string me along. read more

These guys are crooks. They tried to repair a clock for us. Gave us an estimate and time line. Time passed, and no call. I called and they said they needed to order some parts. One week. Week passed and no call. I called again and got the one week excuse again. After two months I call and told them to just return it. Again I got the one more week excuse. Finaly got it back after almost three weeks. Price was triple of what was quoted. Chime didn't work. Didn't keep correct time. No longer a 30 day wind up. Need to wind it up every two weeks. I fixed the chime myself. I adjusted it to keep correct time. Do not go to these clowns. They don't know what their doing. They lie to you about what repairs they did. Beware Beware! I had my cuckoo clock in 5 times and he never got it operating. Last time he replaced the music box. Finally, I sent the clock mainland and found out that the music box is the original. The guy is a shyster. Stay away! read more

I was so pleased with the service. My husband's grandfather clock had not been serviced in 30 years. It wasn't working properly anymore because all the gears were shot. Mr. N came out, took out the mechanism, repaired it, brought it back and installed it, and it works wonderfully. He's a nice man, very professional.
