Very modern and eclectic vibe. Quickest check-in ever. Staff was friendly. My room was very spacious with large beds. The beds were very comfortable and had a nice view from the mounted flat screen.The bathroom was spacious as well with awesome shower. I love that they use soap dispensers in the showers instead of the thin bar soap. They have a little store/breakfast area downstairs which is surprisingly reasonably priced for a hotel. The only con I had was the location. It is off the highway surrounded by tall office buildings. There are no restaurants or gas stations close so you have to travel 10-20 mins to get food. I knew this beforehand but it didn't bother me until I actually got there lol Overall I had a nice stay and the staff were professional and welcoming. I prefer NYLO which is similar in style. But not to forget I paid $75 w/taxes(hotels.com)which was a steal for 2 queens! read more

This was my first time here and I loved the very modern and upscale look. The room was very updated and had a nice 42" plasma. I definitely felt as if I never left Silicon Valley and I love all of the touches. It definitely looks like a loft but very classy. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is because it doesn't come with a complimentary breakfast. They have a few over priced snacks and what not. The bar and pool table are very nice. Stayed here in a date night with my husband, for the price you can't go wrong. They thought everything out and you can tell.

Stayed for one night earlier this week. Pros: - I love the 24/7 cafe. It's super convenient and well stocked. I ran out for dinner and came back to grab a Pepsi, and a slice of cheesecake. - the bathroom with basin sink and glass shower is great! - hookups for common connections to the tv make it easy to watch your own content. I had forgotten my hdmi cable, so I didn't check it out, but I'm glad this capability is here. Cons: - no full restaurant; I had to run out or order delivery. I had a presentation to give the next morning and this cut into my prep time. - the soap in the gel dispenser is not great. I had a hard time rinsing it off and felt a little funny afterwards. Water pressure and the rest of the shower is great. - I slept restlessly, as the AC kicked on about every hour. Since the rooms are small, this would wake me up. Though I love SPG hotels, and wished I could like this place more than I do, I likely won't stay here again. read more

The staff at the Aloft in Plano are awesome! Had to go to Plano last week on business. I stayed at an Aloft four years ago and wasn't impressed. This visit made me a believer. From the moment I arrived until the end of the stay the staff treated me like a true guest. They were actually friendly! Each one went beyond the usual professional courtesy you usually find in staff at major hotels, airlines and other similar places. After a long miserable flight, check in actually lifted my spirits and put me in a good mood for the entire trip. The room was nice. It was well laid out. The bed was comfortable. The pillows were the usual quality. The workstation was spacious enough and the wifi was very user friendly. The bathroom was clean and the shower was spacious. I liked the neat dispensers for shower gel and shampoo. I wasn't a fan of the closet. It was too small to accommodate all my clothes (I don't travel light). There was enough shelf space to accommodate folded clothes, socks, etc. I do wish there were more restaurants close to the hotel. I prefer to walk to dinner after a long day and there definitely were not any places close enough to the property for that kind of an excursion. There is a nice shopping area within a five minute drive of the Aloft though. I found a few really nice trendy restaurants and even a cold stone creamery for desert. Also, the hotel offers hot breakfast sandwiches and similar fare for breakfast so that helped make a difference. It would have been nice if the property had a few more regular tables in the bar/lounge area. My boss and I met each morning over breakfast sandwiches to review the day before and plan for the day. The only place we found with the privacy to talk and space to work was the bar. It worked but was kinda weird. Despite the few minuses, the pluses won the day. The biggest plus of all though was the staff. They were the true delighter and the multiplier that made the stay a win. Next time I'm in Dallas, Plano or Frisco, I'm booking into the Aloft. If you're in the area, give em a try. You'll be impressed too. read more

How many ways can you say AWESOME After a family emergency that brought me to Dallas it wasn't until 4:00 AM that I went looking for a hotel. Being a SPG gold member, I took the chance and walked into the Aloft in Plano. Joseph at the front desk went over and above trying to help me get a room with star points. What a shiny star in customer service. I can't say enough about how impressed I was . After about 20 min on the phone with someone in Europe, they called him and he made it happen. My wife and I have stayed at A Loft before, but not this location. We like their simple, clean room layout which applies to the entire facility. The bed is great and appreciated since we both have back problems. There are cheaper rooms easily found but we really like the layout and amenities that A Loft offers. read more

What a horrific experience. So far this Aloft is a disservice to their brand. Checked in at 4p local time - bar closed. Front desk took over 14 minutes to check me in as he said my card was declined but in reality, he had keyed in my numbers wrong. Hello SWIPE! Finally get to my room and the wifi might as well be AOL dial-up circa 1996. Bedspread is crusty. Came down at 5:15p for a drink and snack and was told, we're out of sauvignon blanc. We're out of Tito's vodka. We're changing our menu so we have these five "nimbles". Strike three. Stayed here out of convenience but the drive to the Westin Galleria is 100% worth it. Very nice hotel. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The rooms are a little on the small side but they work for a weekend getaway. I love the retro theme of the hotel and loft style of the rooms. It is very quiet and relaxing. Has a full bar/lounge area with pool table and fireplace. We stayed at aloft for one night. The rooms are cool looking and clean. The pool also looked cool but small; sadly I did not have time for a swim. I thought the bar was kind of weird because it was pretty much in the middle of the lobby, but that's not really important. The bathroom was strange. The shower door swings in and out, so water gets on the floor even if you put a towel under the door. The bathroom door is a sliding door, and it doesn't shut all the way. I would have preferred a slightly larger bathroom, as there was no place for me to put my clothes or get dressed. Another con is that it took forever to check in. read more

Stayed here for a week for training. There are several companies in the area, so this place is accustomed to business travelers. Has a shuttle that will take you to the surrounding places. Stayed here about 2 months ago and it was soooooo nice. For arriving at 12:45am, the staff was still cheery and very helpful. Awesome full service bar, nice TV in rooms, my king bed was soooo comfy, and I think the best part was the super sexy shower in my room. At first--- I couldn't find it... And I thought to myself, "WTF". Then... I leaned my hand on the wall to take my shoes off and the wall moved to reveal this awesome all glass shower area... Loved it! I want that feature in my little bachelorette pad but I guess that'll have to wait... :D read more

This is like a Motel with many floors. Stylish but no food, yeah they have a selection of "things" to eat near the reception but any seven eleven would put them to shame. Right now they have a party of sort in the Bar which is is so loud you could hardly talk to the staff while in the reception nearby. I'm on the 3rd floor and the music pounds through anything I try to listen to in my room. Did I say there is no food... Won't be returning anytime soon....like never if I can avoid it. read more

I spent over a month straight at this hotel training for a new job. To put it simply.... Amazing... The accommodations are clean, comfortable and well appointed. The AV connector box is a really cool, streamlined way to hook up laptops or any other source to the 42" flat panel in the room... The fridge in the room is a nice touch as well... Although the rooms were nice, it was the staff that really made the stay a pleasant one. Dog friendly they even bring you a dog bed, bowls and treats. The are considerate to putting Pet Parents on the 1st floor and in an area that is private enough that your dogs won't be inclined to make a lot of noise. 40 inch TV and oversized queen size bed with plenty of room. I travel regularly to the Plano area on business and when my normal hotels were booked for a last minute visit, I decided to try the Aloft. I had heard that it was a different kind of hotel and I was looking forward to seeing for myself. Different is right... in my 25 years of traveling, I have never been told that my guaranteed room was given to someone else and I had to go to a different hotel. The desk clerk tried to break the news with the "I've got good news and bad news..." The good news was they were going to pay to put me up at another hotel. All I wanted was to crash for the night (it was after 11pm and I have early morning meetings) and I would have happily paid for the privilege. I will never book another night at an Aloft and I will avoid Starwood wherever possible from this point on (not always my choice in the corporate world). P.S. any Starwood or Aloft corporate shills who read this shouldn't bother trying to reach out. This review stands and I won't pull it back. read more

Gaudy and cheesy decor team up to cover up cheaply appointed ill-conceived closet size rooms. If loud colors, obnoxious music and cheap furniture is your thing, you have found Nirvana. Otherwise, find a Hampton inn or Courtyard and have a better stay. Beware 30.06 and 30.07 signs both up, stay somewhere else. read more

Yep, I'm a fan. Read some reviews elsewhere and was impressed enough to reserve a room for two nights (with family). Its simply a "cool" hotel with so many nice touches throughout. The lobby area is clean, open and has a subtle scent that says "fresh". The very friendly person at the desk greeted us with "Aloha" and was more than accommodating with providing directions to many Dallas attractions. The "lift" has pressure sensitive gel pads that my daughter just loved. Room was almost sparse but had such large ceilings and a number of amenities like an awesome data hub and 42 LCD on the wall that minor quibbles fell away quickly. Great shower but needs drawers or something because I don't like my underwear simply hidden behind a curtain. Comfortable lounge with a decent bar. Pool table and friendly folk really made our trip. Being so close to the Legacy dining/shopping area was a real plus. Highly recommended. read more

They didn't honor our request for two beds though we booked months in advance. Then we had to ask twice for a blowup mattress. The one they finally brought us deflated in an hour. The next day we made multiple requests to exchange the blowup for one that works. No employee was concerned about our previous night's discomfort nor our night to come's discomfort. The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms are clean and modern. Pet friendly and welcoming. However, the night that we stayed there was a Sweet 16 party in the lobby which was the only entrance to the hotel. Bar area taken up by parents, chaperoning party, most of whom were not purchasing anything from bar; however it was uncomfortable for guests wanting a drink or simply coming and going. Front desk was accommodating. Room was quiet even though we were less than 50 feet from party. Would stay at an Aloft again; just question such a poor managerial decision. read more

This was honestly one of the worst hotels my family has ever stayed at, and we have stayed at a lot of hotels. When we first arrived, everything seemed nice. The front desk people were nice and we got checked in quickly. However, once we got to our room things quickly went south. The room had a horrible muggy and musty feel and smell to it, and when my sister and I were about to go to sleep, I noticed that one of the two queen beds had no sheets or blankets on it, just a fitted sheet on the mattress. Well that's probably just a small oversight, it was annoying because it was a room that two people were staying in so logically both beds should be made up, but no one is perfect! We called management and let them know, they said someone would be right up. Great. Couple minutes later a guy knocks on the door, hands me a pile of paper thin sheets (it almost seemed as if he had just grabbed them out of the laundry cart on his way up), and leaves. It was midnight, I was exhausted from a long day of travel, and now I had to literally make my own bed. I'm not a princess by ANY means. I've made a lot of beds. I've slept in a lot of places (including on the ground in a tent on the side of an actual mountain in Colorado backcountry). But I can honestly say that I have NEVER stayed in a hotel that did not have a ready made bed for me, much less made me make my OWN bed. !!!! There was not even a thick blanket just thin hotel sheets, I put three sheets on the bed and was still shivering through the night. There were no blankets available because apparently "they were all dirty". The next day we complained and they said they would have someone make up the room and bring a blanket. Come back at 3:30 pm, my bed is made but no thicker blanket in sight, just the sheets I'd put on there myself folded all nice and pretty. This is the 3rd time we had to complain. It wasn't until I came back today at 5 PM that they slapped a blanket on my bed, couldn't even have made the bed up with the blanket on it, as we speak it is sitting folded on top of my sheets. Again, I am not a demanding or unreasonable person by any means. But for the price my family is paying for these rooms, this is unacceptable. This is a hotel, NOT a motel- at least, that's what it wants to be. Yeah right. This place is completely unprofessional. Do not spend your money here. There are better hotels in Plano. Side note, we left at noon (not a checkout, just to go out into Dallas), asking for them to make up my room and my parents room. Back at 5 pm, they have just started in my parents room. This is NOT that big of a hotel. (Update: it's possible this hotel employs only one housekeeper. Seriously do not come to this place!) read more

The staff were first rate. The property was extremely nice. I had a sweet weekend rate. The oversize shower was great. The Loft had the feel of an upscale loft with none of the funkiness of being made for an entirely different purpose and being old and gritty. It was first rate. A true "W" Hotels experience at a reasonable price. read more
