I had been to this hotel before, so when I had to travel to Frisco again, I felt like I should expect a good experience. Unfortunately, that has not been the case the second time around. As I am sure is quite common, I left a shirt and pants in my hotel room when I checked out. I had placed them on the windowsill and when packing, they must have fallen behind the curtain so I did not see them. When I got home and was unpacking, I noticed they were missing and immediately called the hotel to describe the items I left behind. The person who answered the phone indicated that nothing had been found and they were not responsible for lost items. I told her the items were not lost and were in the room I had just checked out of. When I asked if they had yet cleaned the room, she said that she did not think so. She would check with housekeeping and call me back. She never called me back.
The next day I called the hotel back again and the person who answered the phone said that nothing had been found, but it was possible that the items could still be on housekeeping's cart. I described the items in detail and shared where they would be located. She went up to the room, which I appreciated, but said that there was nothing there. I asked her what the process was for searching the carts and she said she would talk to head of housekeeping and call me back. She never called me back.
I called the hotel a third time and she said that they had not gotten ahold of head of housekeeping because she had not come into work, but that they had a process to investigate. She couldn't tell me the details, which I understood, but said that she would call me back. She still has not called me back. I happened to receive an automated survey asking about my stay, so I filled it out and explained what had happened, and within minutes I got a response from the General Manager Zackary Cottey indicating "I'm sorry that you lost an item here at our hotel. However there is no thievery here at my hotel I can assure you that. Please feel free to see all the good in the hotel in the reviews we have. I'm sorry you did not experience it." When I told him I would like to be put in contact with someone who would take my concerns seriously, he refused to provide me with a contact and just said that he was the GM and "If the answer of WE all tried to find it is not good enough again sorry we are not responsible for guests lost items".
Again, I have to reiterate: the items were not lost. I inadvertently left them in my room...and while, at the end of the day these were only a pair of leggings and a college tshirt, the leggings were expensive and the tshirt was a memento. I communicated this to them on the day I checked out, received no follow up though I reached out multiple times. I am disappointed in the lack of response and that I only receive a response from the GM when I filled out an automated survey. No attempt was made to "make it right" and instead I got the "we aren't responsible for guests lost items". If you can't provide some level of confidence in securing your guests' things, then they aren't interested in finding loyal customers. read more
