Hello Austin :) This is my first time in Austin and let me tell you, it's warm already in May. It's a little humid. I arrived here via an Uber and was safely dropped off in front of the hotel. I checked in, staff was friendly, pleasant and I got a corner room facing the SouthWest. I had a view of Congress street and some artistic mural along side of a building I'm here for a concert at the Moody Center and I met several Greta Van Fleet vans in the lobby while having drinks. The bar does have a cooler full of ice water with lemon and lime to infuse some flavor. Very refreshing as I'm cooking like a bird tonight. My room was equipped with an ironing board, an iron, a microwave, a fridge, and a safe. My bedroom was seperate with a good size bathroom and shower. The front door latch to close for added security was barely hanging on as the hinge was loose to lock it. Thank goodness for the safe. I'm within walking distance from the Moody Center but it's so humid that I opted for an Uber. Since Austin was hoppin' with activity, the road to the front of the Moody center was blocked off and I ended up getting dropped off at the corner. A short walk to the entrance of the venue. I suggest to bring a personal fan like I did. It helped during that short walk as the sun was blaring at the front entrance. I enjoyed my stay. I had dinner at the restaurant below in the lobby area. Came here for a business trip and wanted to stay downtown in the midst of everything. Aloft Austin is a great hotel within distance of a lot of eateries and local entertainment. I love their coffee shop within the hotel and there are two hotels under the same name roof:Aloft and Extreme. Staff has been amazing. Check in was quick and easy. Kori at the front desk was a gem. She was super sweet and provided some great restaurants since this is our first time here. Rooms are nice and clean. read more

Aloft transfers you to a third part booking system. They refuse to talk to you, when you call, directly. I have now list $308.00 because I realized it was a scam! I requested my money back, within 24 hours. I have been lied to and spoken to like I am ignorant. PLEASE DON'T BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL!!!!!! Yuppie Hostel. You are paying for "vibe" and location, and that is all. Know that going in. If that's what you want you will be very happy. Pros: the location is stellar, view is outstanding and if you are young and/or hip you will enjoy the bar very much. The room decor was modern and inoffensive and everything was very clean. Cons: This hotel is what happens if you give Motel 6 money. There is a veneer of luxury while actually giving you budget. Very small room with very poor air conditioner. 2 beds, 1 desk chair, 1 desk, 1 bench, 1 TV. Cheap mattress, twin sized comforter on queen sized bed sandwiched between 2 thin queen sheets. Cheap vinyl pull down window shades, one of ours had been torn badly and had a gaping hole. Walk in shower with wall mounted shampoo and body wash behind sliding barn door. Light for the water closet was next to the front door and not accessible inside the actual water closet. One light for entire bathroom area meant lighting up the whole room to use the toilet in the night. Door opens directly into bathroom vanity and dressing area. Entire bathroom area is designed to be hosed down quickly exactly like a Motel 6. Refrigerator and coffee station in bathroom area. Gross. No room service available despite touting on-site dining. No complimentary breakfast. Hotel guests are not given priority access to onsite dining. No microwave in room. No lobby of any kind. Check in desk is pushed into the bar on the second floor. Valet parking was $65 per day. It was also slow, but the roads were closed due to the Texas Book Festival so we were warned about that. Bell Services held our bags on the last day, but required us to walk into the luggage storage closet to find our own bags while they stood in the doorway. We did not use maid service. read more

After searching for various hotels that offered the convivence of a central location to visit family, decent price and walkability to explore the surrounding area I chose Aloft. The main basis were location and wanted to stay at a hotel that was away from the noise of 6th Street hotel but still near to the atmosphere and had a vibrant vibe. What is the saying about "First Impressions?" After navigating the narrowing 6th street and cornering Congress Ave to 7th Ave the Valet situation was a bit confusing. Their were two different companies at the same station with two valets in different uniforms. I park at the valet, get out with luggage in hand, no one comes to greet me so I stroll over to the valet station which at this time is maintained by only oner person at the moment. Let's just say they were very nonchalant even when asked about how to check in to the hotel. (There is a coffee shop on the first floor and check in is located on the second floor). Once you exit the elevator the reservation desk is literally ten steps away then Bam, right in your face!(odd/unique??) The room view was the best take away from this staycation. The second best was LOCATION. The decor is modern and the W/C is ingeniously hidden by a small corner and sliding door so if it has been a long night I highly recommend using your phone light before attempting the obstacle course to the W/C otherwise you might be in for a sudden stop in motion accompanied by a loud bang. For the price, I thought they would at least had a continental breakfast and I did not agree with the automatic valet charge for lackluster performance. read more

So I stayed here in May 2025, and man.... Pros: hospitable. Clean. Great Valet (my friend has a nice car so it was a great conversation to hear everyone's knowledge on cars). Easy breezy check in. Parking included like mentioned. Coffee shop and restaurant on property. PRIME LOCATION! (Everything i could need was right there, short, less than 5min walk). Clean Room. Nice Tv. Good coffee in room as well. Cons: small room. No microwave in room (which isn't necessary but definitely a plus). Yes, safe to say this was very nice experience. 9/10. read more

The staff was friendly and the hotel is centrally located. The room was not big but had everything we needed. I've never stayed at an aloft before and the room was a similar to a AC hotel room. We had good service at the restaurant and the food was as expected There were a lot of people sleeping on the sidewalks outside. read more

Stayed here September 4-7. Super disappointed in the way this hotel is handling my lost items. Accidentally left some items in the drawer of our hotel room and called the very next day about it. They sent me a link to report my missing items. I filled it out and called back to confirm and speak to a manager. I spoke to Jonathon who at first seemed nice and empathetic to my dilemma. He told me there has been some new staff members and didn't trust them. He also told me whatever the outcome, he would make sure "to take care of me and compensate me somehow" he gave me his personal number and told me to call him the next day. I have been calling for the past 10 days and have been put on hold or told to call back or that he's not available. I finally was able to speak to Maria who although , she could not locate my items, she acted in a professional way and gave me a call back. She told me to escalate it to Marriott customer care to report the items. Please don't let your loyal customers go almost two weeks with no answers but the run around. Train your staff to be honest and not promise something you can't fulfill. I will definitely report my items and hope that the next person who goes through this doesn't get the same treatment. My hubby and I did a 1 night "staycation" at this Aloft Austin Downtown location on Saturday, 08/05/2023 & we really enjoyed our stay & would definitely recommend this location. We had no complaints about noise, or cleanliness w/ our room, and we received awesome customer service from the front desk when we arrived and checked out. We had a great view overlooking downtown from our hotel room that was located on the 24th floor. Our bed was comfortable & room as a really good size, complete w/ a mini fridge, full-size mirror, tv, & small desk. This hotel location is conveniently located near Congress so we were able to catch a Lyft (low cost) back to the hotel after eating at Magnolias Cafe and then watched the bats from the Congress Bridge at sunset. Later in the evening, we then walked the very short distance over to Speakeasy Austin for some live music and drinks. This Aloft hotel location is also located very close to the Austin Capital building & many other local attractions. Fyi- no self-parking at this location and only valet parking is available (to be expected since our Austin parking situation sucks big hairy toes;). The only "slight hiccup" that we had during our stay was the mini fridge in our room was leaking water that caused a puddle of water to form right by the sink in the room. As a "quick fix", I just put a towel down so we wouldn't accidentally slip on the water. I did mention this issue to the front desk when we checked out so the issue could be resolved for the next guests & I really appreciated the customer service received from all of the hotel staff that I spoke w/. Extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Aloft Downtown Austin. First off, the TV in my room didn't work at all -- no signal, no help from the front desk despite asking multiple times. For the price I paid, I expected at least basic amenities to function. To make matters worse, there was no complimentary breakfast offered. Most hotels at this price point include at least something, but here, you're on your own. The final straw was the valet experience. When I got my car back, I noticed the valet employee had not only been vaping in my vehicle but had plugged in their vape to charge it. Completely unprofessional and invasive!! This stay fell far below expectations. I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend this location to anyone looking for a respectful, well-run hotel. read more

This Marriott property is the assigned go-to hotel for my company in Austin, and as I was in town for corporate meeting I had the chance to check out the Aloft. Initial impression was that it's a hip and clean establishment, and is conveniently located in the heart of the thriving Congress Avenue activity. My room (living area photo included) was clean and spacious, and the bathroom area was well stocked with plenty of towels. The water pressure in the shower was slightly less than impressive, but certainly not a reason to skip staying here. The onsite coffee counter, bar and restaurant are very convenient, though with so many options nearby the hotel you certainly aren't tied to those. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay, and wouldn't hesitate to make a return visit. read more

My wife and I stayed here on March 5, 2025. We feel we have been ripped off. The hotel double charged us as we had already paid through Hotel Tonight. They acknowledged it as an error in an email on March 8. I expected a refund of $375.19 but it still has not come. I have called many times and each time I get a run around and have been lied to by front desk personnel who just didn't want to deal with it! It has been a month and now I have to get a lawyer to get my money back! Terrible way to end a vacation! read more

I was throughly impressed with this hotel. The room was spacious and had all the amenities we needed, a refrigerator and great shampoo and conditioner! The room was very modernize and not your traditional bathroom. They also had the option to borrow cowboy boots which was really cool. There was a nice little pastry/coffee shop on the first level and also a sit down breakfast place called Caroline as well as a bar on the 2nd floor. The only thing about this hotel is that they do not have a pool, although they did have a gym. The staff were nice and friendly and were quick to answer the phones and deliver fresh towels into our room. The valet/bell people were attentive and helped with our baggage. I was really impressed with this hotel and I think I will just stay here on future Austin trips as they room was large, with great views and a great location. The room is a typical Aloft room - modern basic no frills furniture, large TV with tones of channels, Big airy bright bathroom area with Dry Bar Amenities, small fridge and best of all - instead of terrible curtains that do not meet in the middle that all hotels seem to have - this has black out blinds and no awful clock radio - cue a dark room that is perfect for sleep !! Also great about this hotel - amazing places to eat! It has a restaurant downstairs with incredible food, a great coffee bar that was fantastic for breakfast with good coffee and a rather amazing vegan granola bar, and a second level bar as well as a small store for basic snacks ! Everything I need in one place ! Loved it ! They have valet parking for $52 a day which is about standard for this city and it was quick and easy to use! This will be my new go to! Prefer it over the regular Marriott as it's cheaper with bigger rooms , better restaurants and better location ! read more

I really enjoyed my stay here! Conveniently located off congress and 7th street- with 6 street being right next to it. Everything was within walking distance. I was able to easily pull in- give my keys to the valet. The first floor is a restaurant and coffee bar- "Caroline's". You check in on the 2nd floor- easy process and really nice staff members. Stayed here during my last visit to Austin just because I didn't really feel like dealing with AirBnB and I had a free night certificate that I needed to use. This hotel is located in Downtown Austin and just like any other hotel in pretty much any downtown area in the United States, you can expect to pay for parking if you choose to park at the hotel. They don't offer self-parking, only valet; and it will run you $49/night + tax. Is it ridiculously expensive? Yes. Do you have any other choice? Not really if you're staying here during the week. However, if you're staying here over the weekend like I did, you can always choose to park on the street (free after 6 PM Saturday and all day Sunday, or pay whatever during the day on Saturday - I personally paid $20 to park from the time I arrived through 6 PM). Check in process was quick and easy. I did ask for a complimentary upgrade like I always do every time I stay at a Marriott property because I have a gold status (which means pretty much nothing these days since Marriott and SPG merged) and although the staff told me that he gave me an upgraded room (corner room - 3116), it really didn't feel like an upgrade since the view was crap and the room was pretty much just a regular room (if I'd been given a suite, that would've been a different story). When I got in my room, I noticed that I didn't have any soap bars at the sink. I tried calling front desk, but nobody picked up so I had to go down to the front desk and asked if the hotel had stopped putting out bar soaps with many hotels trying to be more environmental friendly (read: cost-cutting). They didn't - they just forgot to put one in my room. The bathroom had dispensers for shampoo and body soap. I'm not a fan but again, cost-cutting. The bathroom had a sliding door with no lock, so if you're in there doing your business, then you and whoever you're staying with need to have an understanding not to walk in on you. Overall my stay was okay since I spent the majority of my time exploring the city and meeting up with friends. Would I stay here again? Over the weekend I definitely would. During the week with the $49/night valet fee? HELL NO. Plus, as I was checking out, I walked by a bunch of people outside the hotel just waiting for their cars while I just conveniently walked to my car not even a block away. Seriously guys - if you're going to upgrade someone then REALLY upgrade them. I've been to plenty of Marriott properties where they had been super generous with the upgrade, especially if the hotel's not even sold out and I was only staying for one night. read more

This is the perfect hotel if you want a quick easy walk to 6th street. It's conveniently located near everything. It has a restaurant and lounge upstairs (Caroline). Coffee and bites downstairs and great customer service. Upon arriving around 9p on January 23rd, Nikki told us that something was wrong with our room and that she called the JW Marriott and set us up there for a night. She also called us an Uber and gave us a $30 voucher for the restaurant. Her excellent professionalism and customer service is why I only stay at Marriott properties. I still think that they sold my room for the night and were trying to do damage control but the JW Marriott was also a nice hotel so I wasn't that worried about it. read more

The customer service from this hotel is absolutely disgraceful, a complete and utter disappointment. I reached out to the hotel after I had $150 fraudulent charge more than two weeks ago. I finally reported the issue to my credit card issuer after more than two weeks of being in contact with 4 plus people who work for the hotel. It was a total disgrace the way they handled the issue and how long they've been sitting on the problem. The response received was something I'd expect from Motel 6, not Aloft. Do yourself a favor and stay at the hotel next door. read more

I'm giving 2 stars mainly due to the lasting impression of the poor service we experienced. Short version: It hurt my feelings to not be treated equally and I didn't like that our luggage sat outside for so long. Long version: Upon checkout, we were instructed to ask valet to help us hold our bags. We approached Ryan (valet) with our 2 large suitcases outside in front of the hotel. I think I started to say "Hi..." and then someone behind us cut in and asked to break his change (we'll call him suit guy). I looked behind me and it was the same suit guy who I held the door open for and he didn't say thanks lol. Ryan didn't acknowledge us even though we were standing right in front of him and proceeded to help suit guy with his change, and then his car. I mean it's really rude to service someone else first solely because they look "'more important", even though we're at Aloft which is not a "nice hotel" so it's kind of laughable. I guess he was hoping for an extra tip. We were patient while Ryan helped him and he finally took our luggage, and I didn't order our Uber until I physically saw him take our luggage inside the hotel. While pretending to wait for our Uber, I noticed he walked away from our luggage (and laptop bag) at the valet stand and left them unattended while doing other valet stuff. Decided to go to Austin at last minute and we have never been there so didn't really know where to stay nor where to go! So.. we decided to go to orbitz and this hotel was close to 6th street and that's where all my friends says to go party once in Austin! So here we are!! :) Was greeted by Michael at front desk! And he was EXCELLENT!!!! Super friendly!! And knowledgeable to the area and just very very welcoming!!! He took care of us and Gave us a room that faced the capitol! It was amazing view for sure!! With that huge windows, it was real pretty at night! And when you wake up in the morning and saw the top of the capitol.. can't beat that!! They also have a bar, pool table and fun stuff to do in the 2nd floor after hours with police there so I feel super safe!! Definitely will be back! read more

It felt more like a boutique hotel than a part of big chain. The first floor had cafe serving breakfast, drinks some other options to eat The Loois on the second floor and so is a bar, a terrace and more sitting inside. Our room was not very big, but sufficient for a traveler that is not planning to stay in the room for long. One evening we went down before dinner to enjoy the bar scene. It was packed! We had few drinks and enjoyed the very relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend this hotel. read more

I came here for a quick turnaround business trip and stayed here. Its a nice hotel and it is located right in downtown Austin. You can pretty much walk or catch a fairly priced uber to anywhere you want to get to located downtown. The rooms were pretty clean upon arrival and I was surprised by the size of the room. I had to get a double queen because that was all that was available and again the room was a decent size. They had a fridge in the room and a coffee maker with a few complimentary waters as well. Bathrooms were a decent size that featured a separation between the sink and the bathroom itself. The size was a bit small and a few of the outlets didn't work, I had to move the coffee maker to get it to actually work. This place is a little on the pricey side but it is in a prime location. If I were on business I would stay here again. I tried to go to some of the amenities but they were pretty crowded due to the bad ice storm that was going on while I was there. Again not the greatest hotel I have been to but not the worst. Cheers!!! read more

Everyone was pretty rude here. The receptionists weren't very nice and no smiles from them at all. Their valet was rude. It's my first time checking in a car to hotel valet for an overnight stay. I asked about how it works if we want to take the car back out to go somewhere and then bring it back later that night. The dude glared at me and said keep the ticket. I wasn't clear about the charges, so I clarified if its going to be part of the $50 valet fee and he's like well yeah. We found blonde hair on our sink (my girlfriend and I both have black hair). Two of our towels had make-up residue on them. NOISE IS REALLY BAD HERE. HUGE disclaimer that if you're looking to get any sleep don't pick this hotel. Its really convenient if you're looking for a lively night scene but if you're traveling with family or looking for a nice place to stay then don't come here. We heard music from the local bars, police cars driving back and forth, cars honking at each other and drunk people yelling at each other until 3/4am through our windows. To be honest, I don't think I would go back here even if I was paid to return. read more

I write very few reviews. But I have to let others know what a great experience we had on a long weekend in Austin. Dave, at Aloft and Element, greeted us, made sure we had everything we needed, and gave us the absolute best dinner location advice, and was just so genuine. Our room was better than we could have hoped for. All the staff were warm, had positive attitudes and very helpful. My wife and I will most definitely stay here when we return. read more

I used to be a huge fan of the Aloft brand, but this experience solidified my loyalty to Hilton's version of Aloft, the Canopy. Here's why: 1) Location: It's on the west side of downtown and close to 6th Street if you like dancing and the bar life. It's also a 10-minute walk to the Convention Center. However, there's a large two-level bar across the street that is loud (it may keep you up at night!). 2) Class: It feels like a cheap hotel. The rooms are small and the style seems outdated. It's not the urban chic feel I used to know in Aloft Hotels. 3) Amenities: They don't focus on local goods and instead give you cheap shampoo, soap, etc. They used to give you a Fast Company magazine, but now it's Nat Geo Travel. 4) Service: The woman checking me in at the front desk was rude, short, and acted so annoyed we chose to stay at her hotel. I would NOT stay here again if you want a more cool experience. However, it's a basic hotel and does the job with little expectations. read more

We have been to Austin twice, first time we stayed at the aloft for a night and another night at The Westin. Our second time we stayed at the Aloft again. They have a great location, close to everything, and very nice rooms with views of the capitol. This is not a luxury hotel by any means, but it is very clean and trendy. Staff is amazing, they always go above and beyond. They are also pet friendly and don't have a pet fee so for us who have pets that's always a plus. They have a nice bar area and open lounge. I wasn't a fan of the food at the restaurant, we went there for breakfast and the food was mildly cold and they could accommodate a simple modification. one thing about staying here is that a lot of the people that stay here are people looking to party on 6th street, so we had some noise complaints on our last stay, but the hotel handled it pretty well. This will probably be the place we always stayed at when we visit Austin. read more

I stayed here for a weekend few years ago. Beds are really comfy and design of the whole place is very modern and sleek. Their bar is also really fun and they have even have corned and fun outdoor games. Overall, it's a sweet hotel in a happening spot in Austin. Highly recommend staying here. There is nothing special about this hotel. Standard rooms, small gym, no pool. It's just a hotel. I booked one year in advance for the eclipse. They billed me at the highest price, $13,500 for 4 rooms, 4 days, even though the price listed in the previous year was $280 per room/day. There was NO warning that prices could excelerate. Could have rented a much nicer B & B for a LOT less. Very harsh lesson learned. They definately do not follow the goldgen rule. read more
