North Shore Campground - Sunset from the boat dock

In 2022, my husband made our reservation, but due to work, I had to arrive before him. Because the reservation was under his name, I was not permitted to access our campsite when I arrived, despite sharing the same last name and being part of the reservation. I waited approximately six hours, until around 7 p.m., before the reservation could be accessed, which meant setting up our tent in the dark. We attempted to find an alternative solution, including canceling and rebooking the reservation under my name, but we were told that doing so would result in being charged twice. We attempted to book again in 2026 but ultimately had to cancel approximately two weeks in advance due to unforeseen circumstances. Under the campground's cancellation policy, we were charged an $81 cancellation fee, in addition to a previously charged $13 transaction fee. We found the policy and the lack of flexibility very disappointing. Based on our experiences, I would recommend looking into Rocky Point or PG&E-owned campgrounds in the Lake Almanor area. We have found those options to be more accommodating, well maintained, and reasonably priced.

We pulled in just for one night with a small camper. Our uncle was there also with a small camper…read more It's extremely pricey. The bathrooms are dirty. The garbage cans are too far away. Other than that. It's really nice to be on the lake and it's a fairly quiet location for a Thursday night they have strict speed limits and quiet hours, which we appreciated! Customer Service - 5 star Parts - 5 star…read more Reliable RV, situated in Susanville, California, consistently delivers exceptional customer service, underpinned by dedicated ownership that prioritizes client satisfaction. Upon entering, one is invariably greeted with a warm welcome. The establishment boasts an extensive inventory of RV essentials, encompassing everything from tank treatments to replacement components. A particularly commendable aspect is their commitment to sourcing specific parts; if an item is not readily available, Shannon will diligently provide the order number and arrange for the part to be shipped directly to the store. Consequently, I award their customer service a five-star rating. Furthermore, this location provides comprehensive RV repair services, making it an invaluable resource for any RV-related issue or need.

I was concerned because I could smell propane especially when driving . I'd did a thorough test of all my lines and the propane tank in my Skoolie bus. It came up with nothing. Then I asked about a couple leaks on the roof of my bus. He went up and then asked if I felt comfortable enough to come up so he could show me what needed to be done. He was slammed all day so he couldn't. I very much appreciated him squeezing me in and seeing g about another issue at the same time. When I left the park, the rotten egg smell was there again. I ended up turning around and going directly to his shop. He went next door to a mechanic there that he knew and that mechanic came out, crawled under the front of my bus and said from what he could tell there was some diesel leaking at the filter. He couldn't do the job as he too was so busy. I was happy that we were getting g closer to understanding where the written egg smell was coming from. My next step is a diesel mechanic. Further investigation online, I am relieved it's not in my head but something under the hood. My next review will be the repair on my sweet bus!! Both men took time out of their busy day to look and I was charged 100$ for JDs time but he spent an hour and then another 20 mins at least to call in a mechanic and trouble shoot the problem after realizing it wasn't a propane issue.
