Was completely blown away by this new space! Cool & chic little spot located in Ft. Lauderdale in the Thrive District (super early Wynwood vibes) and it's super chill too. There was a LONG line when we first walked in, but the staff was super friendly and CRANKING OUT matcha left and right. I'll be sure to try some food & different types of matcha lattes next time, but my wife and I wanted to try just the tea itself first. We got iced tea because it was super hot yesterday, but they were both delicious. We had both the Hojicha & their ceremonial grade Matcha as well. Both were delicious!

My favorita matcha spot in broward!!! I'm obsessed with their ube foam! It's adds the perfect combination of sweet and bitter. The matcha flavor is also pretty good. The place its self is cute and the staff is extremely friendly!

Is there Matcha good? Yes Does this place get busy? Yes I went on the weekend and it was a long line and wait but I will say it's worth it. I do wish their cup sizes were bigger for the price. I love watching them prepare the matcha. I had the toasted marshmallow matcha latte and it was very good. The workers are friendly and seem passionate in what they do. Inside is pretty cozy and cute and they also have a small outside area. I recommend!

The name of this business comes from the Spanish word for "soul," alma, a fitting name for a business that puts such care into every cup. I had previously been to their location in Dania Beach and saw that they moved to Fort Lauderdale, in the up-and-coming area known as the Thrive District. The front of the building is nondescript, but step inside where you will find a cool and classy with a minimalist vibe. There are tables set up for work and cozy seating arranged in conversation corners. There are also a few tables outside with umbrellas in the alleyway. All of the drinks at Alma Matcha are made with ceremonial-grade matcha from Japan. Matcha is a finely ground green powder made from specially grown and processed green tea leaves. Unlike regular green tea, where the leaves are steeped and then removed, matcha involves consuming the entire leaf in powder form. This gives matcha a more concentrated nutritional profile. First, they strain the powder, add water, and then whisk it before adding it to the cup, where it is combined with syrup and the milk of your choice. Matcha is prized for its many health benefits. It is rich in antioxidants and may help reduce inflammation. It contains brain-boosting amino acids, helps combat free radicals, and may reduce the risk of chronic diseases. It also promotes relaxation without drowsiness, enhances focus, and the natural caffeine in matcha can boost energy without the jittery side effects often associated with coffee. Matcha drinks here run around $10 and they offer a small selection of a few baked goods as well. After trying and enjoying the Toasted Marshmallow Matcha Latte, I decided on the strawberry matcha latte, made with fresh strawberries blended with strawberry compote, maple syrup, and topped with dried strawberries. The drink had a sweet taste from the strawberry compote, which then gave way to the earthy flavor of the matcha. The drinks from Alma Matcha are all over Instagram and TikTok and it is easy to see why. When I've tried matcha powder in the past but I was never a fan of the bitter taste. At Alma, I've discovered that adding something sweet is the key to making it more palatable. While the price point is on the higher side, the quality, presentation, and overall experience make it feel like a worthwhile occasional treat.

Came in because my friend suggested this place as the best matcha in town and it did not disappoint! I got the strawberry matcha and my husband got the ube matcha. We shared a matcha cinnamon roll. Everything tasted great. We did wait about 45 minutes and the wait was pretty long, but staff was so friendly and working as fast as they could. I loved the cozy space and modern decor, i would love to study or host a meeting here. Ill definitely be back!

Actually impressed with the matcha here. I tasted the matcha first before mixing it all in and I can tell the quality is high. Matcha is definitely bold and strong. I tried the miso flavor just because this is unique and isn't available everywhere. Gotta say it isn't my favorite flavor. I guess I'm not used to salty matcha latte but I do like that the sweetness is just right. The ambiance is nice and chill. Aesthetic is clean and slick. It's giving me a LA vibe.

I'm not really into matcha but came out to Thrive Art District so tried the blueberry matcha latte with an exhausting 15 minute wait since a customer would not stop yapping to one of the three baristas and waited outside while my husband stayed in line. It was extremely busy inside with customers waiting, talking and sipping. The blueberry tasted excellent but too much ice. It's an acquired taste for sure. Did enjoy watching the baristas making the matcha drinks in front of each customer.

The efficiency makes me come back. The matcha was sooo fluffy in the coconut cloud. It was a good amount of sweetness. The vibes are chill, minimalistic, and zen-ish. I just wish they offered larger sizes!! Their large is not enough.

So I have been here a handful of times. Customer service has always been great. It's a nice open spacious place. This has to be some of the best Matcha I have had, I mean it's really chefs kiss. Now I've tried the banana bread Matcha, which is perfect just the way it comes for me. And also the strawberry Matcha also perfect. I do really want to try other flavors but I keep going back to the same ones. One last thing that I tried was the turkey sandwich, although it was just a sandwich I devoured it. So of course I'm coming back because my track record says so.

I am currently in my matcha era! Wasn't a huge fan of matcha initially but I'm learning that I just need a hint of sweetness to tone down the bitterness. Bonus is finding the good spots to get legit matcha and not the cheap stuff. Say hello to Alma Matcha!!! Located in the heart of the Thrive Arts District and tucked conveniently next to the new local bookstore that just opened up, Steamy Lit. Keep in mind this Alma Matcha is actually a pop up temporary location. The permanent location is actually located right next door on the other side of the outdoor patio with the cool art mural. The permanent location is estimated to open in January 2026. Alma Matcha is aesthetically pleasing. Very simple, modern and clean vibes. When you walk in, there is a lounge area on the left side along with several small table and chair seating options including a long table set up with plenty of seats. On the right side is the ordering area with your matcha professionals behind the counter ready and willing to assist as they greet you upon arrival. They also sell merch including apparel in the far back area, matcha sets and matcha powder underneath the ordering counter and over by the lounge area. Ariel helped me with my order as I was trying to decide what to get. She explained a few different options and gave me some suggestions for favorites. I saw ube and it was all over. Naturally I had to get the Ube Cold Foam Matcha Latte. Had to!!! Although I really wanted to try the Banana Bread Matcha Latte and Blueberry Matcha Latte too. Next time. Madison was my matcha barista. She makes each drink with so much care and precision. They use ceremonial matcha here with all the fancy tools. I got a 12oz Ube Cold Foam Matcha Latte that cost me $9.00. Pricey, not gonna lie. But you're paying for the high quality matcha and the vibe here. I enjoyed my matcha and would definitely come back just to chill and read a book on the patio. Which is what I did. Of course. Below are some of their matcha house favorites along with some small bite options. HOUSE FAVORITES: * Toasted Marshmallow Matcha Latte * Banana Bread Matcha Latte * Blueberry Matcha Latte * Strawberry Matcha Latte * Earl Grey Matcha Latte * Ube Cold Foam Matcha Latte * Matcha Lychee Lemonade TREATS: * Matcha Pistachio Croissant * Matcha Tiramisu * Matcha Cherry Chia Pudding * Matcha Milk Bun * Matcha Cinnamon Roll * Turkey & Provolone Sandwich

Tried the Banana Bread Matcha Latte with Almond Milk and it was so good! I expected it to be overly sweet so I asked for half the syrup, and ended up going back for more because with the amount of syrup they normally put it's actually perfectly balanced. The staff is great and the vibe in the cafe is always so nice. It's a great place to meet with friends, work or just grab and go. Still my favorite Matcha in all of Broward!

My first time at the new location. You can tell that it's temporary location, as there are curtains up instead of walls, and no real decor. Plenty of seating inside, and out. I was pleasantly surprised to see that their prices went down from when they were in Dania. I tried their cherry matcha, and I didn't taste the cherry, but it was still a great drink.

The design is really beautiful, and I appreciated the laptop vs. non-laptop zone. What made me feel incredibly uncomfortable, though, was the service. Every single person in line ahead of me was greeted warmly. I even heard the cashier having a conversation with a customer about college and how exciting it'll be, which I thought was really sweet. Service is an energetically taxing job, so seeing someone be that warm and engaging with every person made me feel like I was about to have a great experience too. The second I walked up? She didn't look me in the eye once. I greeted her, asked how she was, and got a very boilerplate response that, in tone, felt like "please hurry up and give me your order." It was jarring, especially after seeing how warm she had been with everyone else. I wasn't looking for a full conversation, but from the moment I said hello, I felt like I was bothering her. I left feeling noticeably unwelcome in comparison to everyone before me. The drink I had was okay, which matters, but honestly, how a place makes you feel matters more. I'm sure this review is a drop in the ocean, but it's something I'll definitely be sharing with friends and family if they're considering trying Porfa.

I work nearby, so I just strolled in during my lunch break for a little midday pick-me-up. The staff is pleasant and helpful. My only suggestion is to perhaps have an allergens list for the individual baked goods. I tried to ask the staff about whether some of the treats contained nuts (in particular, the s'mores bar, and the chocolate chip cookie) as I have a peanut allergy (tree nuts are okay). There was a bit of a language barrier and the staff seemed unsure, and tried to err on the side of caution (which I appreciate). However, knowing that a s'mores bar or a chocolate chip cookie is unlikely to contain actual peanuts, I was a little frustrated because it would have been okay for me personally if it was simply that the baked goods were "processed in a factory that manufactures peanut products". Those trace amounts normally don't affect me. I feel like this was likely the case, but again, I'm glad that they just proceeded with an abundance of caution. I settled for a cheese danish even though I was really after a chocolate craving. Good on the staff for being cautious, disappointing for me that I couldn't cater to my chocolate craving. Oh well. I also ordered a Get Green smoothie, which was refreshing and delicious. The coconut water makes it super hydrating. Whether you're staying at the Del Mar hotel or just work nearby and want a little treat, this spot is a great place to stop in.
