Holy moly this was heaven in a cup. I have to say there are a few grey spots for a latte but experience wise this has been top 3 for sure. The staff was super welcoming and extremely happy to be there. The aesthetics which I always look for when frequenting a cafe were perfect and the coffee flavor...perfect. No notes. Thrive district is really stepping up their game with storefronts. Even love the free parking and have to add the price point for such quality was much less than other coffee shops of equal or lesser quality.
I loveeeeddd Alma Matcha. Both times I've been I've gotten the banana bread matcha with cold foam. I really need to try something else but it's just so good. Depending on what time you go, yess there will be a wait, but it tends to go quickly and worth the short wait imo if you have the time and like matcha.
Super cozy, very high quality, and overall fantastic. The breakfast we tried was super delicious and fresh, and the service was very pleasant. The only downside is that it's so good it gets packed, and you have to queue to eat. The space feels a bit small for the number of people who go, but that's a testament to the high quality of their products. I recommend it 100%
I'm new to the matcha world, and a friend convinced me to give Alma Matcha a try. The interior decor is pretty minimalistic, with just a few pieces of furniture. Not much room for seating or working. The line was long, but it moved quickly. I tried the Banana Bread Iced Matcha, while my friend had the Toasted Marshmallow Matcha. The total came up to around $20. Service was fast and friendly, and my drink was enjoyable. They have plenty of flavors to choose from, so I'd definitely come back and try another one.
Alma Matcha is a matcha mecca in Fort Lauderdale. How have I not written a review for my absolute fav matcha spot yet is beyond me but better late than never. As a self-proclaimed matcha connoisseur, this is THE spot to grab a matcha in Fort Lauderdale. Located within the heart of the Thrive District, you can easily find Alma Matcha in the middle of this area. They've created such a beautiful space where people can come together to work, study, chat, grab a post-workout matcha, or just relax. They are typically packed but I never not find a seat at their community table which has become my fav spot to work at. I love coming here to work or cowork and grab a matcha. My absolute favorite is the Indigo Fog matcha since I LOVE early grey but also love the blueberry notes that is added into this. They also have some really cool collaborations and seasonal menu items. The most recent one that I loved was their Back to School specials that included cereal flavor profiles like cinnamon toast crunch and fruity pebbles. A lovely spot to grab a matcha, coffee, or even hojicha in Fort Lauderdale!
I'm not a matcha drinker but my friend brought me here for the first time and it did not disappoint. We tried the matcha bread which was super good and I had the banana bread matcha that was amazing. It was packed but I can see why now. I would come back and try something else. It is small in there so be sure to keep an eye out on chairs.
This feels like a trendy NY matcha shop that was transported to Ft Lauderdale. We went on a Saturday morning and it was a packed house. While in line, the shop hit capacity and had to start having people wait outside before they could join the line. Luckily, they set up umbrellas so people can wait in the shade. What stood out the most to me was the fact that the matcha was whisked by hand for every drink. It's whisked in the front so you get to watch and see the epic pour of matcha into the drink. You know it's good matcha by the richness of the green. This was easily one of the best matchas I've ever had. The menu was unique and the drinks were delish. Highly recommend and worth the wait.
I stopped by here being unexpectedly in the area and having heard so many incredible things about this business, and I have to say it absolutely lift up to all of its expectations. I came expecting a great Matcha and not only did it absolutely deliver, but it also had one of the most simple and exquisite sandwiches I have had in a long time. I got their turkey matcha sandwich, and although you can't really taste the Matcha very much, the sandwich overall was an incredibly delicious bite, and very filling. I went for the ube matcha which was absolutely chef's kiss. This space was also way more inviting that I would've imagined, making me wanna stay in work for my computer. The service is also really great and caring. If I lived in the area, you would absolutely find me here more often than I would like to admit.
My favorite matcha spot! It's only 2 minutes away from my house, which is so convenient. They have a coworking space, and I highly recommend visiting during the weekdays. The line on the weekends can be very long. The ladies are great, although the service could be a little faster. Still, I come back every week for my matcha! :)
Finally stopped by to grab a toasted marshmallow latter. It was delicious! I loved the touch of the marshmallow on top of the drink. Not to sweet and not to strong just how i love my coffee. I also picked up some egg bites that were pretty good just what i needed to go with my drink. The spot is gorgeous very aesthetic. Great spot to sit down with friends for a drink. Must stop for good drinks and good service.
I have been wanting to come here for ages. I love a good matcha . This spot is very aesthetic. So many different options. Such a varied menu. The baked goodies were a hit ! I saw many people buying baked goodies and also sandwiches. I ordered the vanilla matcha. Very high quality. Decent prices . Highly recommend . Service was excellent.
First time visiting their permanent space as they opened in April and it was very nice. There is a cozy and welcoming vibe to it but today the cafe was buzzing as they had a special 4th of July event "American Honey" event and a collab with Stacked Cookie Company & Petal Haus Miami. Because of the event there was a line out the door but the line moved pretty quickly. The staff would let us in little by little to avoid overcrowding inside the cafe. When you entered the store there was a little line and you place your order at the register and walk to the other side to wait for your order to be prepared. There was 1 person taking orders, 1 person managing the line and offering menus and water to the customers outside, and there were about 5 employees preparing drinks at the bar. We ordered the Matchamisu, Matcha Cinnamon roll, Miso Maple Matcha: (oat milk & salted vanilla cold foam), Banana Bread Matcha: (oat milk & vanilla cold foam) and an Indigo Fog Matcha: (almond milk, 1/2 sweet). I also ordered a tin of matcha to take home with me. Everything was soooo good!! Both the matchamisu & matcha cinnamon roll were very rich. I think the matcha cinnamon roll had an apple flavor which I thought was interesting. I didn't try the banana bread matcha, but the Indigo Fog was delicious! The cashier let me know that the Indigo Fog Matcha was one of their sweetest flavors so I asked for it half sweet and it was a delicious sweet treat between the bitterness of the earl grey and the sweetness of the blueberry syrup. The Miso Maple Matcha with salted vanilla cold foam was honestly so perfectly balanced that I could honestly drink that every day. I also took advantage today as they finally had their matcha in store. I can't wait to make matchas at home for the days that I can't make a trip to their cafe.
The best matcha place in South Florida - it really is as good as people hype it up to be!! The matcha is high quality and actually gives me jitters which no other matcha has! The soot itself is so cutely decorated and the matcha flavors they offer are so unique and amazing

Definitely one of the best matcha spots in South Florida. Very large menu with a lot of options but I especially recommend the Ube matcha and the earl gray tea matcha. Strong matcha flavor that doesn't get overshadowed by the flavors, which were very well balanced and not too sweet or artificial. The pumpkin matcha tasted a bit watered down. We tried the breakfast burrito and the matcha tiramisu, they were alright but you can skip them. I would just go back for the drinks. Very cool industrial, raw concrete vibe inside. Always a long line but it moves fast and rarely has seating available when it's busy. Has some outdoor seating. The location is also a bit in the middle of nowhere but that's ok. Will definitely come back whenever I'm in the area. read more

Alma definitely lives up to the hype. We live nearby so we've tried almost everything on the menu. The coffee drinks are very good and I personally don't drink a lot of caffeine so I love having Hojicha as an option! The staff is pretty friendly and will answer any questions you have. My favorite thing about Alma is that they make their own syrups and almond/oat milks! You can really taste the quality in everything. Some of our favorites are: Banana Bread, Miso Maple (so good in Hojicha!), Ube and the special Apple Jacks cereal flavor. They also partner with Miami's Banana Daddy, and have soft serve, which I love being able to get in Fort Lauderdale! read more
This place wasn't hard to find. Place is nice and clean. Can definitely sit here to chat with some friends or to do some work or to study. My sister and I got toasted marshmallow and Indigo fog. Both of them I asked for light ice. Both drinks are good and definitely taste each ingredient. Matcha was not bitter. Staff members were nice and patient when my surer and I were looking at the menu. I definitely will come back and try the other drinks. read more

The best coffee! I was very excited to hear they stated serving coffee, since they're known for their matcha. Their coffee beans is sourced from a fusion of Guatemala and Colombian coffee, which is heavenly and smooth! I like getting the salted maple latte and re iced vanilla latte. Their ratio of coffee : milk is always on point so your coffee never tastes too milky or too strong. The location itself is in a new "art" district plaza in Fort Lauderdale, so parking is easy and FREE. They did a good job in distributing the couches and tables so there's perfect corner to chat with a friend or zone in on your work. Every time I've gone I always meet someone new! We visited Alma Matcha on a Sunday morning. It was very busy as you would imagine, but we did not have to wait very long. I loved the minimalistic feel of the place and selection of drinks. I ordered a maple miso Matcha latte. It was delicious and I could tell the matcha was excellent quality. I would've liked if it was a little bit sweeter but next time I will know to ask for more maple. I tried a little bit of the other drinks that my friends ordered. They were all delicious as well! I can't wait to go back and try some more things. read more

Alma recently opened their flagship location, and I had to stop by. I'm a big fan of their matcha, especially the Marshmallow Matcha Latte. It tastes amazing every time! The space itself is beautiful, with plenty of seating that makes it the perfect study or coworking spot for students and anyone looking to get some work done. The green paint on the walls is gorgeous, and that's coming from someone who usually isn't even a fan of green. The atmosphere feels super cozy, and they mainly play indie music, which I loved. As always, the staff was incredibly kind and greeted me as soon as I walked in. One thing I will say is that I initially thought they only served drinks because I didn't notice the food options on the menu until I saw someone else order. After asking, I found out they do have food items as well. I tried the Matcha Turkey Sandwich. I personally didn't really taste the matcha, but I still really enjoyed the sandwich overall. And of course, the Marshmallow Matcha Latte was delicious as always. read more
The name of this business comes from the Spanish word for "soul," alma, a fitting name for a business that puts such care into every cup. I had previously been to their location in Dania Beach and saw that they moved to Fort Lauderdale, in the up-and-coming area known as the Thrive District. The front of the building is nondescript, but step inside where you will find a cool and classy with a minimalist vibe. There are tables set up for work and cozy seating arranged in conversation corners. There are also a few tables outside with umbrellas in the alleyway. All of the drinks at Alma Matcha are made with ceremonial-grade matcha from Japan. Matcha is a finely ground green powder made from specially grown and processed green tea leaves. Unlike regular green tea, where the leaves are steeped and then removed, matcha involves consuming the entire leaf in powder form. This gives matcha a more concentrated nutritional profile. First, they strain the powder, add water, and then whisk it before adding it to the cup, where it is combined with syrup and the milk of your choice. Matcha is prized for its many health benefits. It is rich in antioxidants and may help reduce inflammation. It contains brain-boosting amino acids, helps combat free radicals, and may reduce the risk of chronic diseases. It also promotes relaxation without drowsiness, enhances focus, and the natural caffeine in matcha can boost energy without the jittery side effects often associated with coffee. Matcha drinks here run around $10 and they offer a small selection of a few baked goods as well. After trying and enjoying the Toasted Marshmallow Matcha Latte, I decided on the strawberry matcha latte, made with fresh strawberries blended with strawberry compote, maple syrup, and topped with dried strawberries. The drink had a sweet taste from the strawberry compote, which then gave way to the earthy flavor of the matcha. The drinks from Alma Matcha are all over Instagram and TikTok and it is easy to see why. When I've tried matcha powder in the past but I was never a fan of the bitter taste. At Alma, I've discovered that adding something sweet is the key to making it more palatable. While the price point is on the higher side, the quality, presentation, and overall experience make it feel like a worthwhile occasional treat. read more
Really liked trying this new matcha spot in FTL. I had to wait in a 30 minute line but they added umbrellas and fans so it wasn't too bad in the Florida heat. Once was inside the line moved quickly. The drinks were yummy and were great for posting on instagram. I got the Miso maple and the Ube. Both were great but the Miso maple was my favorite. read more

Is there Matcha good? Yes Does this place get busy? Yes I went on the weekend and it was a long line and wait but I will say it's worth it. I do wish their cup sizes were bigger for the price. I love watching them prepare the matcha. I had the toasted marshmallow matcha latte and it was very good. The workers are friendly and seem passionate in what they do. Inside is pretty cozy and cute and they also have a small outside area. I recommend! read more

I have been wanting to try Alma Matcha for some time now and so glad I got a chance to. The line was pretty busy and we did have to wait outside for about 5 mins. They have a great variety in flavors for your drink, I went with toasted marshmallow matcha latte with almond milk and a matcha white chocolate chip cookie. While we waited, one of the baristas educated us on the difference of matcha vs hojicha from the smells to powder potency. You can tell that the staff is knowledgeable and passionate about the business. The cookie was really good, sweet from the white chocolate, and very soft and chewy. My toasted marshmallow matcha latte reminded me of a campfire, but a more cooler version. The matcha is definitely high quality and so smooth. I like that they add a toasted marshmallow on top. I enjoyed the vibes and drinks here, highly recommend. read more

Actually impressed with the matcha here. I tasted the matcha first before mixing it all in and I can tell the quality is high. Matcha is definitely bold and strong. I tried the miso flavor just because this is unique and isn't available everywhere. Gotta say it isn't my favorite flavor. I guess I'm not used to salty matcha latte but I do like that the sweetness is just right. The ambiance is nice and chill. Aesthetic is clean and slick. It's giving me a LA vibe. read more
My friend and I came here during our break to try their match drinks. When we arrived we grabbed two menus and looked at all our options. My friend and I couldn't decide so we began to ask the staff questions. They were nice and attentive. Then, when we were ready to order we made the line. My friend had ordered a blueberry matcha and I ordered the strawberry matcha. The girl at the register warn me that since we weren't in strawberry season it would be a puree and they add dried strawberries on top of the drink. When we tried our drinks, we didn't like the earthy taste the drinks had initially but when you mixed it around a bit you couldn't taste it as much. My friend felt the same about her drink. We both agreed we would come back to give this place another shot but it was just alright for us. Something else to note, if you're looking for a place to work they have tables and they play soft music so it's a good spot to work from. read more

Bonus is finding the good spots to get legit matcha and not the cheap stuff. Say hello to Alma Matcha!!! Located in the heart of the Thrive Arts District and tucked conveniently next to the new local bookstore that just opened up, Steamy Lit. Keep in mind this Alma Matcha is actually a pop up temporary location. The permanent location is actually located right next door on the other side of the outdoor patio with the cool art mural. The permanent location is estimated to open in January 2026. Alma Matcha is aesthetically pleasing. Very simple, modern and clean vibes. When you walk in, there is a lounge area on the left side along with several small table and chair seating options including a long table set up with plenty of seats. On the right side is the ordering area with your matcha professionals behind the counter ready and willing to assist as they greet you upon arrival. They also sell merch including apparel in the far back area, matcha sets and matcha powder underneath the ordering counter and over by the lounge area. Ariel helped me with my order as I was trying to decide what to get. She explained a few different options and gave me some suggestions for favorites. I saw ube and it was all over. Naturally I had to get the Ube Cold Foam Matcha Latte. Had to!!! Although I really wanted to try the Banana Bread Matcha Latte and Blueberry Matcha Latte too. Next time. Madison was my matcha barista. She makes each drink with so much care and precision. They use ceremonial matcha here with all the fancy tools. I got a 12oz Ube Cold Foam Matcha Latte that cost me $9.00. Pricey, not gonna lie. But you're paying for the high quality matcha and the vibe here. I enjoyed my matcha and would definitely come back just to chill and read a book on the patio. Which is what I did. Of course. Came here to try out the matcha with my husband. We go to a specific place for matcha so we are pretty picky about out matcha if its not ceremonial matcha we wont drink it. We liked the matcha here was good. The ambiance of the establishment has a very modern clean cut look which was nice. The staff were friendly and attentive. They have room to sit inside and has a couple of seats for outside which is nice. Location for me is pretty far but if I was in the area sure I will try another drink. read more

Finally treated myself to Alma Matcha and I could not decide what to get, so I went with the Banana Bread and the Toasted Marshmallow, both with whole milk. They have so many fun flavors, but those were my picks today. Both were so delicious. My favorite was definitely the Toasted Marshmallow, but the Banana Bread was really good too. It was just a tiny bit grainy, which honestly made it taste like it was made with real, quality ingredients. The vibe inside the cafe is so relaxing and cozy. So I have been here a handful of times. Customer service has always been great. It's a nice open spacious place. This has to be some of the best Matcha I have had, I mean it's really chefs kiss. Now I've tried the banana bread Matcha, which is perfect just the way it comes for me. And also the strawberry Matcha also perfect. I do really want to try other flavors but I keep going back to the same ones. One last thing that I tried was the turkey sandwich, although it was just a sandwich I devoured it. I was a bit hesitant on trying Matcha because of the many mixed reviews I've heard from people, however, I am so happy that this is where I got my first taste! I went with the strawberry matcha, it's a strawberry puree made in house and as a strawberry lover I thought this would be a safe choice. As a lactose intolerant girly, I was happy to hear that I had the option of getting almond or oat milk which I decided on the almond based on the recommendation from the Barista. She also recommended adding in a pump of vanilla ( I ordered the small) which I obliged with getting the sugar free option. The service was great, as the staff was helpful in listening to what I like and making recommendations. The best part is that there is free parking in the hatch district which is amazing! I was shocked to see that It was packed inside and out. So be prepared to wait a bit for open seating, or arrive early. read more
I went to Alma 8/17 around 3pm. I don't live in South Florida anymore but when I come down here to visit family and friends, I always make sure to stop by Alma because of how much I love their matcha. Today, I experienced the worst customer service at any establishment I've ever went to. To start things off, the young lady with brunette hair and tattoos at the register snatched the pastry menu that my friends were crouched down looking at from the counter to give to another customer, while they were still looking. We didn't think anything of it until she very rudely asked me to grab a menu and "keep the line moving" when mind you, I only had to take one step foot forward because the line was short and was not even moving. When we finally got to the counter to order, she started off by saying "What are you having?" No greeting, no hello, no how are you. She was very short with her responses and while I was trying to order, she kept snapping back with questions without me even having time to think about my responses: "What size? What milk?" I felt very rushed. When we tried ordering a pastry that Alma was out of, she quickly snapped and said "we're out of it", and offered no suggestions or any other options. Anyways, I spent $54 and drove a decent amount of time to make my way over here because I love their drinks & atmosphere so much. Because of the customer experience I had today and negative attitude, I don't think I will be returning unfortunately as someone who has been a long time supporter of Alma before they even built their flagship location. This place is for people who LOVE matcha and can tell the difference between ceremonial grade matcha and the bulk powders they would use in regular lattes in cafes that don't focus on matcha. Very stylish and design district-esque decor and vibe inside. They use 4 grams of matcha in each of their 12 oz drink options. You can definitely tell the high quality of matcha used due to the deep vibrant green color of the drinks, as opposed to the usual pastel green you may see for lattes made at other cafes that offer matcha drinks. read more
