This pub is worth a visit for the location alone - it is an idyllic setting for a summers afternoon or evening, perched at the top of Cottonstones with long views over the adjacent farmland to Norland Moor in the distance, Add to this good beer and good food and what more could you want! David and Glennys have run the pub for over 20 years and astounded everyone about 3 years ago by adding a £500,000 extension! This provided 5 quality letting rooms, a restaurant and private function room. Always serving Taylor's and Tetley's beers and a speciality range of Belgian bottled beers all served in their own dedicated glasses. The menu is varied but their speciality is a wood burning Pizza oven. Food can be enjoyed in the modern restaurant or less formally in the country style bar (or even Pizzas to take away!). They also offer outside catering for any kind of function. This is not a pub you chance by! You need to make a serious effort to find it although there is a sparse 566 bus service from Halifax. read more
