My experience with Jones- Warren Home Inspections was exceptional and I highly recommend them to anyone. I hired them to inspect a rental property that I was purchasing and, I had never personally seen so I was relying on the home inspector to give me honest feedback about the property. They conducted a very detailed inspection and then provided me with a full report that included multiple photos of the home. They called me to explain the report and, recommended licensed vendors to help me resolve the issues that came up in the inspection. This review reflects my personal experience with Ally Property Inspections and the inspector they sent, John Harms. Ally Property Inspections conducted our home inspection on August 19th. John Harms provided a detailed-looking report, and at the time I trusted that it covered any major issues. I was satisfied enough that I even left a five-star review--something I regret now. Fast forward to closing day, October 17th. The very next day I visited the home and immediately discovered a major issue that should never have been missed: a bedroom window with severe water-damage and completely rotten trim. The damage was obvious and in plain sight--my finger literally went straight through the wood. After further inspection, the entire center section of the trim was rotten due to a leaking window. This was not hidden, subtle, or difficult to spot. Yet the inspector failed to note any of it in the report. This oversight is now costing us over $7,000 to fix--an issue that absolutely could have influenced our decision to buy the home. When I contacted Ally, they sent someone out to look, and from there it became a long, frustrating cycle of delays, miscommunication, and empty assurances. I was passed between multiple people--Mike, Lawson, Allen Warren, and finally Bobby McLemore. Each time I was told someone else would follow up. Weeks went by with no clear resolution. Eventually, Bobby informed me that they would not be repairing the damage, insisted their inspector made no mistake, and offered only to refund my $500 inspection fee--but only if I signed a release agreement. This agreement demanded that I: Never post a negative review anywhere Never make a critical comment on social media Never speak negatively to any potential customer Remove any existing reviews And if I violated this even once, I would owe the company $10,000 for each "disparaging statement", plus attorney fees. In other words, Ally Property Inspections tried to buy my silence. Instead of taking responsibility, they tried to intimidate me into signing away my right to warn other homeowners. This behavior is outrageous, unethical, and absolutely unacceptable from any company--especially one that deals with something as serious as home inspections. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Ally Property Inspections. The inspection missed a serious and obvious issue, the company refused to take responsibility, and their solution was to try to silence me in exchange for a refund. At this point, you're better off hiring a truly independent inspector--or doing the inspection yourself. I trusted them, and that trust cost me thousands of dollars. Found a lot of things wrong with the house, but missed some things also. The office to worker communication is flawed, I had to call the office to get in contact with the worker who was waiting at the house for 30 minutes because they didn't give him my number or the realtors. Inspector missed a filthy HVAC system that I now need to get cleaned and worked on, because the ductwork system is filled with mold. He recommended having it cleaned and inspected by an HVAC professional, but said that it would be inexpensive. 5k unexpected cost. Dishwasher wasnt secured to the cabinets. Toilet tank isn't secured. All brackets in the closets of the house were not installed properly, and will easily be ripped out of wall. I went to hang clothes and it immediately fell. The floor in basement is bubbling. I had to contact the office to ask questions because the inspector was vague on the post inspection call. read more

Let me first say the inspector did a wonderful job. My complaint is with the scheduling staff and the managers/owners. I was under the impression I scheduled an inspection for a friday morning. Friday morning rolls around and no inspector. I even had a hardwood specialist with me to inspect at the same time. (We werent allowed in home without inspector per AL law?) So not only did I not have the inspection done on time, I had to reschedule the hardwood specialist. When i called friday morning asking where the inspector was, the office staff had no evidence of my request for an appointment. Even though my realtor and the selling realtor both got a confirmation. One lady in the office was very helpful and set me up with another appointment. However, although my inspector was great, it was not who I requested. After having some additional difficulty getting my realtor access to the report, I called the office to file the complaint. I was told by a secrety that the owner told her to tell me that they couldnt do any type of refund because the system wouldn't allow it. The owner never returned my phone calls (yes, more than one call) nor answer emails. Again, the inspector was great, but if you want reliable appointment timing and ease of reports etc, don't use this company. A simple call back from the owner/manager with a genuine apology would've been appreciated. read more

I sold a house in July 2018 and the buyer used Jones-Warren for the inspection. I was impressed with their report, photos and thoroughness. I wanted to remember and use them the next time I purchased a home. So when I found something I wanted to purchase, I looked them up and once again they did an outstanding job. I used Jones-Warren to inspect our home prior to purchasing. The inspector didn't find anything major. Today, we found out that our electrical box has been a fire waiting to happen. It's severely overloaded--its a 60 amp and we need a 200 amp. Corrosion was found and it is not grounded. I'm amazed that an "inspector" didn't find this. I feel like our home inspection was a total waste of money & time! I would not recommend! read more

In June, my wife and I closed on a home purchase in Hoover, AL. The home was inspected in May by Jones-Warren Home Inspection Services. I just recently entered the attic to address some minor HVAC issues and immediately observed large amounts of unusual debris on the white insulation. This debris turned out to be nut shells, seed husks, and animal droppings. Further examination revealed a rat trap, an adhesive trap, extensive amounts of animal droppings. I then found the carcass of squirrel. When I reached out the CEO, Meredith Warren, she replied dismissing any responsibility and giving reasons why. I replied stating to her I could show her how glaringly obvious the infestation was and prove the infestation existed when the home was inspected. I invited her to come and take a look for herself. She never replied. I did a lot of research in this matter because I know a home inspection can't reveal everything. But one thing that became clear to me is that a trained inspector should be particularly on the lookout for safety and health related issues so a potential buyer can make an informed decision. How he missed the signs of a squirrel infestation four feet away from his vantage point is beyond me. read more
