I think like most other things, some of the burden lies with the customer. Are you being honest about what treatments or chemicals you may or have added to your hair before your visit? Are you clearly communicating what you want and carefully listening to the stylist? Do you have realistic expectations? Also, like all good salons, if you're not happy they will rectify the error or issue. Case in point- I had an updo that I wasn't thrilled with- said something, and they re-did it no problem. The ladies there are super nice, they ARE trained and they DO continue their training. Give New Outlooks a try, I think you'll be pleased!
