I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience. What disappointed me the most wasn't just the poor results of my treatment--it was the complete lack of accountability from both the provider and the business. When a treatment doesn't produce the expected results, the least a client should receive is a professional evaluation and a willingness to make things right, not excuses. On top of that, the receptionist consistently had a rude and dismissive attitude. She told me they would not provide any complimentary treatments, even though I never asked for one. All I wanted was to receive the service I had already paid for and have it done correctly. A reputable business stands behind its work and takes responsibility when something doesn't go as planned. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. Instead, I was met with poor customer service, a lack of professionalism, and no accountability. This place is a rip off, they mix botox with a ton saline for botox, this is next to no tightening - one time they redid it after two weeks but the same Dr. did this three times. Did this happen to you? PM me as I think this should go to the AG's office. read more

The fancy face treatments at this place are so relaxing and have me more confident in my skin, but the wonderful people who work here are what truly made it great. They have been beyond five stars, taking time and a personal approach, never trying to sell me on more than I want, always being kind and friendly. I felt that my trust was well placed whenever I visited. That's part of why family-owned, local businesses are great not just for the local economy but for clients like me. I'm sad to hear the spa has changed hands and is no longer locally owned. I'm not sure that the pros who have been there for years and years will be there anymore, and if they will be, I'm not sure they will work on the same terms. I'd be much happier with my dollars staying in the local economy and supporting a good quality of life for those who live and work here. Too often when larger, out-of-state corporations buy out a smaller local company, it is more about deepening their own pockets, cutting corners, and treating employees like work horses, than it is about fairly compensating the local workers who have built up clientele and made the businesses feel personal and human--especially for something like a spa. Such a friendly, kind and professional and fun business. Someone really good at hiring people runs this place. It helps that many of them have been there for a long time and the staff works well together. No snobbery that one can feel in Spas. Very down to earth, helpful, genuinely caring and polite. Dr. Lam is so good and caring too. If only all businesses were run this way. I enjoyed my time with all of them and highly recommend. . . I bit the bullet and booked myself for some Botox injections and have no regrets. Dr. Lam was fantastic, gentle, quick, and made sure to ask if I had any questions or concerns. Thus far the results are fantastic and I plan on continuing. I did have to reschedule once, as my son had to be tested for Covid and so did I, it was very easy to call, explain what happened, and reschedule my appointment for 2 weeks later in case we tested positive. (We were negative.) My consultation was great as well, I mentioned a few things I had been interested in and what options were best. Unfortunate I'm giving a 1 star for this company that seems to provide a great service. My 1 star is based on the fact that I could not get an apt until 1 month later but because I am a travel nurse I don't know when I'll be leaving this area. They require a $200 deposit for an apt and even with 2 1/2 weeks advance notice of canceling the apt based on me being deployed somewhere else they are unwilling to give the deposit back. I understand wanting to secure apt's but I would suggest making the deposit rule a week in advance or something of that nature. With the amount of business this place is generating I would assume they can fill my spot 2.5 weeks later. It's not really the consumer's fault that there are no closer apt's and ultimately there was no better way for me to make an apt with my circumstances. read more

If you can get past a Cerbarus-type receptionist attitude (Nicole) things maybe ok but why give thousands of dollars a month or year when med spas are a dime a dozen in Albuquerque. Dr. Lam and Dr. Mancha mentioned in the 5 star reviews below do not work here anymore (prior owners) mgmt and ownership has changed hands here so many times you are truly better off steering clear. When I tried addressing the way I was treated no one cared, probably because like I mentioned spas are everywhere. Disappointing because I was just noticing all the fresh new faces there and thought new hope!! I was very happy with my nurse injector and could not remember why I didn't like this place, and then, I was reminded when having to deal with Nicole that one person is enough to ruin an entire business. Her sidekick Paris is pretty awful too, they both enjoy putting you on speaker, muting you, and gossiping about you thinking you don't know what they are doing. Disgusting. If it were my business id tell them both to drop there compensating mannerisms and kick rocks (Paris says ok awesome after every other word between pressing mute button and speakerphoneing you ,) I think to cover up the patronizing stuff in between mutes and speakerphone stuff, awesome! And Nicole is the epitome of a Saturday night live sketch with her Cerberus receptionist act. She demands a picture of your problem if you have one post procedure and then if you say you want to come in instead " well no one is going to help you" ( what?) get a job somewhere else. An elitist Spa that says one thing and does another. I signed up for (2) treatment of Coolsculpting and was told that if I only wanted one, I would be able to get a refund for the other to use towards another service. I waited the 3 months afterwards to see best results and realized that I didn't want another one. Might be better for more youthful skin. I never told them it was poor results--just didn't think another one would benefit me. When I contacted them about using my refund on another procedure, they told me it wasn't actually "HALF" of the refund but a "portion" of it. I went back and forth with them for 2 weeks as they didn't return my calls when they said they would. When they did finally call back, after much discussion, they agreed to refund me the whole half. I agreed to a much more expensive procedure where I would be paying them a large sum again. I called ahead of scheduling my appointment and was given a "phone call appt' for today at 11:40. I made sure to work all of my other appointments around this "scheduled call" so that I could give it my full attention. When they didn't call me, I called in and was told that they didn't want to work with me anymore because of the "Credit" situation. Kimberly stated to the receptionist that she didn't think she could "satisfy" the customer. JUST NUTS!! This was all over $150!!! What an awful way to treat a customer! They wanted to be RIGHT so instead of just crediting me the money, they had to get ugly about it and ban me. Unfortunately I never had any service from Dr Lam so don't know if he is great or not, but I do know the rest of the staff has a lot to learn about treating a customer right. I was skeptical at first about writing a review because the treatment was so so good that Im afraid too many people will start coming to the clinic and it will be always full and the prices will rise accordingly. However, selfishness apart, they deserve a 5 start review. The staff is super friendly and will Make you feel comfortable and at ease. They will make sure to answer all your questions and concerns. I am personally terrified (to the point I get dizzy and faint) of needles. However, Dr. Victor Mancha has an amazing pulse and he made sure to stimulate my reward system to make the experience so pleasant. Furthermore, the will put a numbing cream so you don't feel the needle as much. (And it works miracles). Indeed, the whole experience was beyond pleasant and the results look AMAZING. Im looking forward for my next botox and filler visit. I go here for my Botox and my microdermabrasion facials and I absolutely love it! Dr lam does not want you to get more then needed. For over. A year he constantly said no to any Botox on my forehead, that unless my face made wrinkles without expression, I shouldn't touch it. I do not recommend AlluraDerm MedSpa because the Botox that was injected into my forehead did absolutely nothing--never worked. The injections cost me over $600. Dr Lam was very nice and took the time to explain what he thought would work best to minimize the frown lines on my forehead and he was very gentle while administering the Botox, but it felt like he barely pierced the skin. I waited the two weeks and waited--it never worked. I feel like the Botox was either very diluted or he just didn't inject it deep enough. Either way I felt it was a waste of my time and a lot of money. I will never go back there. read more

Dr. Lam and his staff were absolutely wonderful, even though they have been extremely busy and working later hours they still took the time to personalize my experience. One day, out of nowhere, I looked into the rear view mirror and noticed something I hadn't before. My makeup had settled ever so gently into a smile line that had appeared and was starting to settle into the frown lines on my forehead. For the first time I realized I am not a vampire and I will and am aging. Yikes. I started telling everyone that would listen that I have pimples and wrinkles at the same time, and while they politely told me I was still young and vivacious and had my whole life in front of them I knew the truth. The truth being that strangers lie and I have pimples and wrinkles at the same time. That's where AlluraDerm MD Med Spa and Dori enters. Seriously, if you need good juju she is your lady. She is sweet, patient, kind, and full of the joy and brightness only some of us hope to find. Plus, she has amazing skin so you know you're in good hands. At first I thought I was insane for wanting to spend large amounts of money on my skin, but when it comes down to it your skin is the largest organ in your body. How much money do we spend on health supplements, healthy foods, medication, gym memberships for other organs in our body? When not do something nice for the one that acts as a physical barrier to the outside world?! Like, we all know we'll spend over $100 bucks on a haircut, a fancy dinner, or a new pair of shoes, it's not that crazy to spend it on your face. They start your treatment off by discussing your issues, and reassuring you that you are not crazy. They go over possible treatment plans, products, skin care, and how to prevent any future skin damage. The treatment rooms or beautiful, comfortable, and they wrap you up like little croissant so you're snuggly warm and comfortable. It is wonderful. I did a micropeel which helped exfoliate my skin. After much research I knew the only place I trusted to get my first Botox appointment would be at AlluraDerm. I was very nervous making the appointment but the person I first spoke with on the phone was so gracious and patient with all my questions. She made me feel comfortable right away. They scheduled me with Dr. Lam. I went about 10 minutes early to the appointment to fill out paperwork. The receptionists are very sweet and personable. Kristy took me back explained the whole process. She couldn't have been nicer. She put me completely at ease and if I felt any anxiety it was gone. Do not buy that Alluraderm offers the number one Botox Treatment in NM. That is just hype!! At my intake, I was told that everybody is given the same amount of product to set a baseline but that makes no sense. Everyone ought to have a personalised treatment based on their needs and comfort level. I believe Dr Lam set this bar in place to jack the amount of units sold based on an up sell faux strategy that they were working off the recommended Botox standard. I called Allergan, the company which makes this product n they confirmed my suspicion. Alluraderm's boilerplate amounts are higher than the maximum recommended limits as there is no set amount required. I thought I would be able to talk to Dr Lam about adjusting his standardised template but when I met with him he said I wasn't a good candidate for Botox because I wouldn't accept the quantity he insisted on. I was only looking to reduce the injections by 8 units to comply with the maximum recommended amount but he wouldn't budge. He said if he injected my forehead I would hate him. Huh? What I don't respect is his unwillingness to work with his patients specific needs or our comfort level. While the staff was lovely and wish they could be of some service, it appears this Botox pushing Dr Lam isn't able to source his staff for their guidance either. If you are looking for a completely over botoxed look where there is no movement on your cheeks or forehead, you have found your perfect resting place. Run!!! read more

Dr. Lam is AMAZING! What a beautiful, light touch he has. Got Botox and first time fillers, worth every penny. Such a subtle improvement, I look like myself only after sleeping great and rolling the clock back about 10 years. I bruise very easily and did have a pretty bad bruise on my chin, but it healed in a week. Fillers are not to be taken for granted and having a doc who is so skilled here in Albuquerque is a gift!!
