The Crossing was the first gas station / convenience store I saw in town. Pulled in and once the exchange was done we ventured in for a potty break and drinks. First time seeing a salad bar in this type of business. And, it actually looked appealing! We've all traveled major roads in whatever state you're from. Yes, I've snickered at gas station sushi in Mississippi. There are things you DON'T want in this setting. Yet, The Crossing made it look seamless. Clean bathrooms at least on the mens side. Usual suspects like Hunt Brothers pizza present and a glass case full of fried goodness too. I think they do burgers too? He quickly had a new Jasper Transmission ordered, and was more than welcoming to us. It took several days for our parts to arrive, and he offered for us to stay in our camper on his property for free. He even let us connect to his electric to run our air conditioner. I watched the employees of Kelly's Auto Shop for a week, and they were absolutely always the pinnacle of professional and kind. Bryon is an extremely knowledgeable expert in auto repair, and could diagnose problems immediately and have them fixed in quick order. Kyle is a by-the-book perfectionist who treated every vehicle as if it was his own. He's young and smart, and a fantastic person. Kelly (the owner) is a great "old style" mechanic. He's worked on every kind of vehicle and seen every type of problem. He's well versed in cars and also isn't afraid to get his hands dirty and fix something when it needs fixing. Kelly and his entire crew are great people, and you'd be foolish to use any other repair shop in town. These guys are legends.

I was able to get a Q taco (beans, egg with potato, and cheese) and added some bacon. The lady who attended me was friendly and efficient. She appeared to be working alone, but did a great job. I added a little salsa from the salsa bar and it was delicious. This Stripes store is not as big as some I've seen, but I was grateful to get a decent cup of coffee and friendly service.
